I wish they had kept it white, grey, and black as in that qunari picture instead of beige, brown, beige.
Agreed.

I'm joining with others in asking for some extra or different clothing DLC (dresses!!!!). Please BioWare!
Not just for Skyhold, but for any party or formal thing with nobles too. The awful outfit choice for FemHawke in Mark of the Assassin dlc just seems to be repeated (from screenshots we've seen) for DAI.
I actually ragequit MOTA the first time I tried to play, because it took me right out of any immersion when my FEMALE character was wearing a noble man's outfit.
Literally every other female noble at Duke Prosper's party was in a dress...except mine. Even Leliana was in a dress, for pity's sake and she isn't noble. If we are allowed to play a noble female, then please allow us to dress our character like every other female noble in the Dragon Age universe. I will VERY happily pay for more appropriate female clothing choices via future DLC, and those who don't care about such options can just skip it. Please and thank you! ![]()
The DA2 MOTA clothing, for reference.
I am not looking forward to how that outfit is going to look on my ladies =/
The casual outfit and ball gown have made me actually decide to play as a Male Inquisitor first because of how bad they look on Female Inquisitors.

For me, the real problem is that they aren't creating separate outfits for different genders, which makes it seem that female playable characters are less important or are just an afterthought. Female characters are getting the same outfit which was clearly designed for males (after all, they aren't making male Inquisitor's wear dresses, now are they?). Considering the great lengths BioWare have always gone to, to be inclusive and fair, this just seems like such a glaring oversight.
If the DA universe had not established that women at parties or formal events didn't all wear dresses, then I would have less of a problem with it. As it is, that screenshot of a female Inquisitor wearing a male miltary outfit while dancing looks absolutely ludicrous. Some people may want to roleplay their FemQuizzie that way, but I'm sure there are many more who want a more traditionally feminine look for such a scene.
The same goes for the Skyhold casual outfit. I can't believe I'm admitting this because I really disliked the "Finery" in DA2, but by comparison, I think it looks much better than the beige pantsuit in DAI.
*crosses fingers and toes for alternate outfit DLC*
We only saw the back of it on the Female
And the front since Leliana is wearing the same thing and we are seeing them come up the stairs as if we were at the top of the stairs.

This is something that's bugged me since Origins. It's just lazy fantasy stuff... all the females wear dresses because, you know, "Middle Ages" blah blah blah
Yet in the same game women are soldiers and guards, wearing suits of armor and other uniforms. Regular everyday fashion should reflect this.
At least in ME female NPCs wore both dresses and pants.
I literally would be embarrassed as a soldier if I saw my leader wearing that.Talking about the outfit on M!Inquisitor, I actually *don't* like it. It looks really tight on him...
I mean that's basically someone taking an ultralight cloth and yanking it... the pecs are slightly too defined and the stomach area looks too tight (which is weird, because that is one tiny abdomen). I look at that and immediately feel bad about myself...
. The pants look slightly better on the male though.
Plus this is only one of four male bodies. Also, I kinda want to mention that the colouring looks better to me on a white person than it did on a brown person. As a guy who had the MotA outfit clash horribly with his skintone, this made me disappointed.
While all of this talk for skyhold outfits has been for the most part focused on female designs, I think that men should have other designs as well. To use a game of thrones example or two. I really want an outfit similar to Petyr Balish's outfit from GoT. But also sense the outfit is casual, why not have something akin to what Oberyn Martell wears?
I can see why people are taking issue with the lack of options, but I think they're being a bit harsh on what we're stuck with.
The tan/gold color combo reminds me of a popular Michael Kors' aesthetic:
The gold detailing makes it look rather sophisticated IMO. I think the consideration here went into "what will clash the least with the variety of hair & skin combos"? /shrug In the screenshots they've released the gold piping and grommets look even shinier than what we saw during the stream, so I'm being patient enough to make a final judgement when I have my hands on the game in full HD.

This
Though I do agree, they should have kept it white, grey, and black

I've never seen the white, grey & black version. Ideally we'd have been able to alter the colors via dyes to any shades we want, but alas.

That would be the ideal way to handled it without adding more causal options
This was the white, grey, & black version

I hope that's still in the files so someone can make a replacer.

Oh, wow, I remember this picture but the colors made it seem like an entirely different outfit. Personally the stark white feels a bit waiter-ish to me, but to each their own.

Now that you mention it, it does look waiter-ish ![]()
Wasn't that under her armor but it glitched for a second and just showed that?
Actually it did do that

Oh boy, I didn't see this screenshot earlier. It didn't look so bad when the Inquisitor is sitting on the throne, not so much in this one. I'll be putting off my male Inquisitor playthroughs until a replacer, or DLC comes to fix that. I'm fine with the female version, but more options would be nice.
I remember talk about dyes for our armor, too, way back in the day. Seems like that was one ambition that they dropped. Poor, poor Pinkquisition...we hardly knew ye.
EDIT - I'm in agreement that the casual outfit doesn't look very good on the male PC. The female looks nice, though.

Might be worth mentioning that I took that shot and I made it brighter so you could see the qunari female better. It was for my thread on her and we didn't have many good shots of her at the time.
So it probably wouldn't have looked quite that stark in the game.
So! I don't know if this has been posted, but I saw this post in Tumblr and loved their ideas for the formal ball outfit,
http://moriesartwork...this-that-there
Their take on a feminine version of the male military suit look is fantastic and I would have totally been ok with wearing that to the ball. They even included a dress and elf formal design! 8D
