Yeah, that first outfit is fantastic. If I can't have the third, I'd have loved the first one.

Gotta join the choir expressing disappointment in this casual costume, assuming it is the only option in the game. It looks like underclothes, and is something that (to me) wouldn't inspire respect at the hold. I expect I'll be spending a lot of time at "home" and will get heartily sick of looking at the beige body stocking. If you must go beige, at least put some brocade or something on it. DA:2 was bad, but at least the Hefner smoking jacket felt like *some* effort had been made.
There is no assuming it is the only one. Bioware confirmed it.

Not being able to customize my skyhold casual apparel has resulted in me canceling my pre-order.
Calm, articulate. I think you're being honest here. Is this the only reason or is this just the final straw?

So! I don't know if this has been posted, but I saw this post in Tumblr and loved their ideas for the formal ball outfit,
Spoiler

Their take on a feminine version of the male military suit look is fantastic and I would have totally been ok with wearing that to the ball. They even included a dress and elf formal design! 8D
I love it. Why can we get something like this? The first one is great and it's not even a dress. ![]()

I'm not going to pre-order either. Since I'm going to wait for them or modders to fix it I don't see a point to buying game in-preorder.

See, now those are awesome.
The top one would be a great trade-off for a dress, definitely a lot more flattering and creative. Also I would absolutely adore that second one for my Dalish elf, at the ball or at Skyhold.
Talking about the outfit on M!Inquisitor, I actually *don't* like it. It looks really tight on him...
I mean that's basically someone taking an ultralight cloth and yanking it... the pecs are slightly too defined and the stomach area looks too tight (which is weird, because that is one tiny abdomen). I look at that and immediately feel bad about myself...
. The pants look slightly better on the male though.
Plus this is only one of four male bodies. Also, I kinda want to mention that the colouring looks better to me on a white person than it did on a brown person. As a guy who had the MotA outfit clash horribly with his skintone, this made me disappointed.
It might just be a poor angle or lighting, but yeah I would argue the outfit looks even worse on the male Quizzy. It didnt seem as bad on the throne, but here it seems like the top is about two sizes too small, it is far too tight. Look how it is stretching around the middle...
Hopefully just a bad picture lol.

I'm thinking about not getting the game until there's either dlc or the modders have managed to crack the frostbite code, or whatever modders have to do to be able to make awesome stuff.
I mean, first the qunari hair, then the ballroom outfit, and now this... Yes I know I'm shallow. But having a cool/cute/beautiful looking character is extremely important to me. And I can't just not ever visit Skyhold. I'm sure there are some reasons you have to go there or it wouln't exist at all. And from what we've seen of it, I like the Skyhold content, it seems extremely interesting, but I can't see any of my characters wearing that thing willingly. Maybe if you could change the colour or wear your armor, but you can't.
Not that those are the only reasons. I got a bit burnt with DA2 and have since lost my last bit of faith in EA, so I haven't pre-ordered. And my computers breaking down too, so I've been saving up for a new one, and a few more months of saving will get me a better one.

I'm shallow this way too.
I always attach importance to how my character look especially in RPG games. I like having a lot of armors, outfit, hairstyles etc to choose from. ![]()

This pretty much. It doesn't look like an outfit that suggests that you're the one in power. What baffles me the most is that we can change the interior of Skyhold to a certain extent, but not the (colors of the) attire your character wears. Bioware should've known by now that people love to customize everything there is to customize about their hero.

I don't have a lot of free money so not pre-ordering DAI is purely me taking a wait and see attitude. I did the same thing with DA2 and got it £15 cheaper.
I know I'm going to buy the game but when will depend on the reviews.

I'm shallow, but none of their horrible design choices are a deal-breaker.
I tend to draw my character in whatever the hell I want anyway.
If there's dlc, I'll definitely take it.
If not, I'll deal with what they have and say,
"my good clothes are in the wash".

Yay unrealistic beauty standards for men! How totally awesome.
And they were getting so much better at making realistic women.

*looks at female Ball outfit*

It also didn't help that I looked at dozens of medieval ball gown images afterwards. *sigh* I'll say it again, I don't like that we only have one casual outfit and I don't like that the ladies (very likely) only have a "DA2" style outfit again for Ball scenes. The companion's outfits and the Inquisitor's many styles of armor are so detailed and interesting this has honestly shocked me.
