Good for you. If, however, you can't agree that it's bizarre that Bioware would spend the time/resources to design 30 mounts while only giving us one casual outfit (which we can't even change the color of!), then your judgement is suspect.

Also, since when are more choices/customization options a bad thing in an RPG?!?

You sound like a Bioware apologist to me.

How about we cut back on the ego there with trying to brand somebody as an "apologist"

1. I never said it wasn't bizarre and I wouldn't mind more casual outfit,  but it's just not that big of deal to me and some others

2. Can we please stop the customization argument, it's a cop out. No it's not a bad thing to want more choices/customization but the game is already big on customization it's just that some of it isn't what YOU want it to be or the lack of it

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought this. My inquisitor will subconsciously avoid Vivienne's little perch just because of the internalized shame of only having one, monotone, pantsuit.

Oh, I can't avoid Vivienne though.  So, no matter how hard I have to WURK, I *will* find a way to look fabulous.

Whoa, dude. Chill. No need to call someone who disagrees with what is important to you, that! He/she said "different strokes for different folks". He/she didn't say Bioware should never ever offer you a choice.

Some people truly don't care about what the outfit they wear when they are ****ing about in the castle and not because they are apologizing for Bioware. I don't care because

a) I can't see detail so I don't want to make a call on the ugliness of the outfit before I see it on my rig.

B) I am only going to be wearing it to have my junk covered while I wander about the castle, so I don't think much of it beyond "Yeah, my companions are lucky Bioware decided to cover me up because I'd totally wander about nekkid".

c) It is a vanity outfit. I don't care that much about what my bed looks like either. Heraldry, I DO care about because I'll see it in other parts of the game.

So, yeah sure I get you like your choices and you don't like this outfit and stuff, but why scold that other dude/dudette for saying it wasn't important to THEM.

Still blows chunks we're stuck in one casual outfit meanwhile we have bed choices up the rear.

Can we even sleep in the damn bed? I mean

The 30 mounts makes me sadly chuckle.  That seems like overkill, big time.

I played WoW off and on for 6 1/2 years.  I had acquired over 120 mounts, of various ground and flyer types.  Guess how many I used in my daily play?  A grand total of three.  One of which was a dragon (c'mon, you have dragon mounts, you pick one,) one of which was a flyer with good ground speed, and the other was a dual-passenger rocket.  Three mounts out of the 120+ I had collected.  I'm guessing that Inquisition is going to be much the same for me in that regard.  There's probably going to be only one or two mounts that I'm going to use.  The only ones that I would bother with trying something like customizing horse armor.

@Exile: I do appreciate the effort in allowing us to color-coordinate our base.  That is cool and I have a bit of interior decorator in me as well.  It just seems so out of place in a DA game.

Edit: Oh please don't start with the BioWare apologist bullshit, okay?  I know you're frustrated and feel let down, but don't start taking it out on other posters, please.  :(

Yeah, I'd be cool with just wearing my armor around the Keep, too. Although, the free DLC option or included in another bundle or even a slight 2 dollar-ish cost DLC would be cool.

Tbh I would rather wear my armor at all times.  This casual suit is mandatory, right?  Too bad... it looks kind of bland.

I didn't realize it was such a horrible insult to call someone a Bioware apologist... Sorry if I offended you, Ares.

I happen to care about little things like female Qunari hair options and casual clothing in Skyhold (which is why I post in threads like these). Obviously you don't put as much importance on those aspects of the game. That's fine. Everyone has different opinions :)

We don't know, to be honest.  I hope so, since I can easily picture my somewhat paranoid rogue in her armor even at her home base.

What:huh:

...Have you read any of my posts?  At all?  In both here and in the Qunari thread, I have shown support for more options.  I am very disappointed in both the lack of hairstyles for the lady Qunari as well as the causal clothing.  You either overlooked or ignored my post on the last page where I'm left frustrated and puzzled by the priority to customize furniture over clothing.  I have also expressed in the female Qunari thread that I wouldn't mind paying for a DLC for more options.

Please read my posts in their entirety before you start making statements like that, okay?

Yeah, a close to release DLC of at least a colour palette change to the clothes would be so good.

No, no, no, Natashina, you misread my post! :(
I apologized to Ares for calling him a Bioware apologist... My next remark was directed at him, not you!

(He's quoted me a couple of times in the female Qunari hair thread, too, and his opinion on these little things seems to boil down to "meh". I find that off-putting because I wholeheartedly agree with you: I just want enough options to give us a choice. Four Qunari hair options and one casual outfit is not sufficient)

They could do something similar to Mass Effect where it allows you to choose casual wear at the beginning, and if I remember right you could go to your cabin on the ship and change the casual wear if you wanted to.

Going with that idea they could make multiple choices for casual wear that you get to choose from, and you can switch between different ones by returning to your own quarters within Skyhold and clicking on a closet or something.

That way it stays simple, because full customization on casual wear sounds like it may become too complicated.

I didn't realize it was such a horrible insult to call someone a Bioware apologist... Sorry if I offended you, Ares.

The reason why it's an insult you're basically calling someone a kiss a** just because they disagree with you.  That's where the offense comes from.  Most don't like being told that they are kissing the arse of a company because they don't share the same opinion as someone else.

Again, I know you're passionate and frustrated, but try to relax a little.

I did want to say that I do know where Ares is coming from.  While more options are indeed something that I feel is usually good for a game, I'd still be willing to wait on such things if it meant more bug fixes and polishing.  I guess I'm in the middle here.  I want more options, but not at the expense of game fixes.

And as far as "encouraging EA to do more DLC," that's something that they are going to do regardless.  Our part as fans and consumers is to offer feedback as to what kind of DLC we'd like.

Obviously, for most of us, we'd like a story based DLC if we're going to drop our money on it.  However, we really can't offer ideas about a story-based DLC until we play the game.  I also have a feeling a lot of those have been in development alongside of the main game.

We can, however, offer feedback on looks and attire based upon what we've been shown.

No but could we wear armor in Hawke's estate? (No.)

If you could equip armor in Skyhold, surely the devs would have said that instead of just saying "sorry guys, you can't change your casual outfit"

I would have preferred options when it came to casual outfits, because more options are always better. I hope they don't package some later as paid DLC, though. I'm definitely really tired of that kind of thing.

The 30 to 1 ratio comparing mounts to casual outfits is an unfair one. Accommodating multiple clothing styles for characters whose body types range from Iron Bull to dwarf women is considerably more resource-intensive than people are acknowledging.

Mounts could be categorized according to a fairly small and manageable number of animation templates, making the difference between most of the mounts less labour intensive to adjust for each character's body type.

It's more likely that during the development process, the team working on casual clothing concluded independently that they didn't have enough time to animate multiple casual outfits in addition to the existing customizable armour. The mount team may have started out trying to make a smaller number, and discovered that by reusing resources with different overlays, they were able to make more than they originally planned, and we ended up getting more mount options as a result.

Of course, I'm speculating, but it makes considerably more logical sense than believing that BioWare set out at the planning stage to say, "30 mounts! And who cares about casual clothing."
