It's at least form fitting and doesn't have puffed sleeves and weird patterns or look like a bathrobe with gym shorts, etc...I'm not saying I like the Skyhold clothes, but it could be worse IMO.

I disagree, I actually like the outfit because it looks like something an important person would wear

Sure the color could be different but meh

Yeah I modded that XD
Probably won't be able to do that this time :(

You know... Battlefield's target audience doesn't strike me as the type to be heavily invested in mods, whereas Dragon Age's target audience is.
What are the chances that there currently aren't any mods for Battlefield 4 because none of those players care enough about mods to try and crack Frostbite 3?

Heh, I disagree. xD It looks like pyjamas. If they change colours and fabric a bit, add leather shoes or something... I really don't understand why we can't customize our casual outfit like we can with armors.

The general design of the outfit doesn't bother me that much, the leggings I enjoy - the boots are a shame. I take issue with the dried mud color, and the turtleneck.

I know absolutely no people who wear necklines that high, and are comfortable with it being there.More people pull and squirm with necklines that high, rather than relax in them. It just looks so uncomfortable and uptight for an outfit specifically made to be worn in your home, a place you're supposed to feel safe in.

I mean, open a few buttons, turn out the collar and the outfit is alright, bar the poor color palette.

If they'll do that I will be happy. ;)

It looks like this level of appearance customization is beyond Bioware's target audience.

Maybe we're too small a group?  Like maybe 20-25% of players and 10-15% of that really passionate (my guestimate).

Casual DLC would help, similar to MassEffect casual range.  But obviously DLC can't offer the full range of choices many of us want.

Time for something like a "kickstarter" to determine level of modding support?

PS.  Anyone wanna trade MP chest, ironthrone, flames of inquisition bonus for casual outfits?

I'd trade the MP anything (since I know I'll never ever play it), and the weird throne that looks like mammoth innards, yes.

And as we all know, no culture would ever wear uncomfortable clothing. smiley_innocent.gif

I... chose not to include the other examples that I found, as the images were disturbing (as opposed to the outfit in DA:I.)

I don't even know what that's supposed to mean. Something that doesn't concern people as much as you isn't "beyond them."

Maybe we're too small a group?  Like maybe 20-25% of players and 10-15% of that really passionate (my guestimate).

If you think the people who have responded here represent as much as 25% of BioWare's customers, you probably don't have a solid concept of how large BioWare's audience is, or where they spend their time on the internet.

PS.  Anyone wanna trade MP chest, ironthrone, flames of inquisition bonus for casual outfits?

So you would remove entire features of the game (including one that is expected to generate direct cash flow) that took years to develop at great cost for the sake of a few costumes that you'll only be wearing for a small portion of the game?

Well the idea was put out there so it's open to disagreement not just agreement. Also if you can't get him and others like him to care about or understand why this is an issue why should Bioware care about it?

I'm sure there's some people who would like more options in the casual clothing department but the amount of importance they can stake on the issue can vary greatly. I mean is anyone not buy the game over this? I doubt it.

Would I personally like more options? Sure, more options is always nice. Do I see a point in partitioning the dev to put more time and effort into casual wear? Not really.

Oh im sorry I didn't know this was thread for debate I thought it was suggestions that are for the topic.

A valid point if your inquisitor was actually part of such a niche culture as to use such necklaces. Or were part of the disturbing girder pulling of European culture.

They're not though. We have dwarves, elves, humans, and qunari. They're from unique backgrounds of their own that could have had their own unique turns to the style - but we don't. That outfit doesn't even look as comfortable as the DA2 casuals.

To be fair, we've not seen the casual gear on anyone but a human female mage, so it might still be different by race, or class.

Based on this thread's title, I now have the following picture in my head:

Our Inquisitor, taking a load of laundry to the Skyhold washroom. After pulling out the stained clothes they wear around the Keep, they mutter "filthy casuals..."

I think you're overreacting to a relatively minor fashion detail. And I don't think that historical cultures' fashion norms (Europe is a "niche" culture? Africa is a "Niche" culture? Really?) are really that out of context with DA's setting, especially considering some of the stories about Orlesian fashion.

I'm not overreacting... I've said nothing strenuously emotional, and I most certainly have not been venomous. Of course that could change here since you've attempted to belittle and ridicule me to make a point.

I said the African necklaces you posted were niche, because they are, they are specific to a small portion of African tribal culture. That's niche. It's a little corner of the world. It is not a huge cultural norm for an entire continent, but a relatively minute band of tribes. Also, notice the fullstop? Europeans are not niche, no. That's why I put them in a separate sentence. It doesn't change the fact that girder pulling was a specific trend of an era (or several eras since corsets were being used by men and women probably from before the renaissance - though not necessarily in such detrimental ways).

And yes, though Orlesians are clearly inspired by such things your argument regarding them would apply to humans and no one else.

As far as this thread goes, I'm probably in the minority in that I actually liked the outfit. It reminded me of the elven outfits from the LotR movies. XD The only thing I didn't like was that it only came in one colour. Some more colour options would be nice.

And some dresses, maybe? Or robes?
