Oh im sorry I didn't know this was thread for debate I thought it was suggestions that are for the topic.
Thread falls under the broad category of discussion according to the OP so whatever aspect of the casual outfit floats your boat really.
You know... Battlefield's target audience doesn't strike me as the type to be heavily invested in mods, whereas Dragon Age's target audience is.
What are the chances that there currently aren't any mods for Battlefield 4 because none of those players care enough about mods to try and crack Frostbite 3?
Battlefield 3 was on the exact same engine and there is indeed a mod for it. It's a "color tweaker" mod. It was working about 2 weeks ago, but the latest patch broke it. So the modders even in the BF community have figured out how to mod. However, as you can tell, it's just for in-game colors. There isn't a mod for say, weapons or vehicles.

Dear gods I hope not. ![]()
You would actually be mistaken. Despite the stereotype of shooters being for Mountai Dew chugging, Dorito crunching dude bros, the modding community is quite robust. They may mod totally different things - less hair color or nudity mods, more rate of fire or particle physics mods - but the exist in numbers just as big, if not bigger, than RPG modders. You know... I've said nothing strenuously emotional, and I most certainly have not been venomous.
I agree. I'm not sure why you would bring that up.
Europeans are not niche, no. That's why I put them in a separate sentence. It doesn't change the fact that girder pulling was a specific trend of an era (or several eras since corsets were being used by men and women probably from before the renaissance - though not necessarily in such detrimental ways).
I'm not going to go through the hundreds of examples of European fashion from the dark ages through the renaissance that involve uncomfortable clothing, especially since some of them are quite disturbing, as I originally mentioned. I cited more than one example, and could cite hundreds. European fashion through history is certainly relevant to what someone would wear in Dragon Age, given that it forms a significant portion of the inspiration for many Fantasy settings, Dragon Age included.
Of course that could change here since you've attempted to belittle and ridicule me to make a point.
If you think the points that I am making belittle and ridicule you, feel free to report me. I won't bother to tell you that it wasn't my intent, since you've clearly made up your mind.

I don't understand why Bioware gives such little attention to the Inquisitor. If anything, they should be the focus. First the lack of good hairstyles and now this. It's like they want our Inquisitors to be bland and boring with no personality whatsoever. Which annoys the hell out of me because I have this detailed story in my mind about my Inquisitor and I'm starting to think it will be impossible to give her some personality because of such limited options. Why give us a detailed CC and lack on hairs? Why give us an amazing crafting system and not let us fully use it? Sigh... Hopefully they will give us more hair and clothes along with the black emporium dlc they said they wanted to make. I just hope it won't take months because by then I probably already made all the playthroughs I have planned.

How does a lack of casual wear and lack of good hairstyles = an Inquisitor with no personality? ![]()

Let's not forget the forced gender animations.
Different hair and clothes can add plenty to a character.
Not that you need them but it could create the ideal character for some.

A lot can be said by someone's hair/clothes. It's the easiest way for someone to express themselves and to show their personality.
I think bioware could ease the concern about the casual outfit by just enabling armor for Skyhold, I think that is the most cost-effective and efficient way to appease the fans in the short-term. Long term goals might be free dlc casual outfits down the road.
My opinion is that the inquisitor needs to look intimidating or at least powerful. Beige pajamas doesn't fit either category. I couldn't sit in my throne in that and judge people. The look needs to be professional, could you imagine going to work and having your boss show up wearing a skin tight pants suit? Or for my fellow soldiers, your CO showing up in skin tight acus? How do you take them seriously?
I wouldn't be surprised if when you sit in the throne to do that if it puts you in your armor for that scene.

Do we though? We've seen NPC's dancing in dresses and formal wear in that one trailer months ago. If I have to show up looking all drab while NPCs are all high fashion.....no I can't even think about it right now.

I'm a huge fan of replaying games. I still play my SNES games happily when the mood strikes me. So don't take this as any judgement about that.
I'm figuring that in about 3-4 months after launch they would be willing to release a Black Emporium-style DLC. With that in mind, I've gotta ask....
How many sessions are you trying to do in about 3-4 months after launch? I've got two, which won't be enough for all of the combinations I plan on doing down the road. I want at least more color options for the clothing as well, but I'm willing to be patient at this point. I certainly don't plan on going through all of the race/character combinations I want within 3-4 months or so. I don't like my dwarf being in those muddy colors, but I can deal with it. It wouldn't be unfitting for her. However, for my elven mage that I'm eventually doing? Yeah, she wouldn't be caught dead in those. So, I figure I'll hold off playing my lesbian mage until at least a color wheel is released.
I honestly think the style of the clothes looks really nice. I do approve and as someone mentioned, it's a far cry from the DA2 home attire. Give me color wheel for them and I'll be a happy camper.
I really truly hope that's a lie because that was one of the main parts that made me interested in the game.Do we though? Well, we know that Female Inquisitors can't wear dresses to the ball.

This was shown awhile back. It was confirmed that the Lady Inquisitor (in red on the left) is dancing with some person in Orlais.

At least we've got some real color in there.
Yet, if you want a dress, that isn't happening. The developers said, "A dress is just too hard to animate correctly for the different race models." A lot of the response from the thread that caught that was, "Okay, but you could have taken a mage robe model and threw a different mesh on it." I know, I know, easier said than done. I'm not going to pretend otherwise.
I think they were trying to go for a formal ball gown, and couldn't get it right. So rather than use an old model, they put her into the clothing shown above. Hey, I can respect that. I'm disappointed, admittedly, since a nice dress for a fancy party was something I wanted back in MotA. However, I won't mind being in trousers to a ball, as long I can make the color scheme more fitting for my character.

Well, I'll be playing as a guy almost exclusively, so I hope I can be dapper and stunning and fabulous.
But once again, just like with the female Qunari hair, I am left wondering whether or not I'm going to be disappointed with the male version of the casual wear + whatever men get to wear at the ball.

My suspicion is that both Lady and Lord Inquisitors are going to be wearing the same thing to the ball as well as at Skyhold. When the devs put the kabosh on the ball gown idea, they probably went to work making sure that one outfit for both genders and all races of the PC was applied and animated correctly.
I know hun. <hugs> I was ranting about that when that first showed up about a month ago. I'm mellower now, but it stinks. ![]()
