Well guys hello, first sorry i dont know in which Section this belongs cause there is still no Modding/Scripting Thread for the Mass Effect Games, especially ME3 :(

I have a quick question: I know bout some texture mods and the Happy Ending Mod but why are there no mods out which add new systems (like Alpha Centauri or Sirius) and/or add old ones from ME1 and ME2?

This is still one of the easiest content mods you can make and far simpler then new missions/real new endings (like the Dark Energy one). I wondered, is it just not intresting enough to add new Star Systems which you can visit with the Normandy on the Galaxy Map?

ps: forget about hardcode its np, just needs more programming skills but still just a language^^

You mean, just pop a new system onto the galaxy map where nothing happens? Even if that is easy, it sounds kinda pointless.

Pointless? I think it would be so interesting to make Alpha Centauri for example or the Gliese 667 System (where in Real Life it probably contains 3 Super Earths) where most probably Demeter, the first human extrasolar Colony, is located (according to that point, the fact that the star is just about 20 lightyears away makes it even more realistic!)! Even Etamis and the Schwarzschild Systems or other known ones...later, it would be still an option to create Missions there although it needs at least some Mod Tools and knowledge to help ya out with that^^

Besides, what do you mean with nothing happens?
The new Systems would be like all the other ones with Planets/Description etc. and nice for Background Info :D
I mean, sure i thought about making it myself/ask a friend of mine (whos working as a programmer/game designer) to help me since i am not so sophisticated in that matter like him when it comes to bigger things like missions....but am i the only one who ever thought about this??

Well, the Mass Effect series in general is quite difficult to mod. We all wish it could be that simple, but that's not the way Bioware made the engine, and they didn't exactly leave any tools or mod kits to help us along.

In fact, all 3 games are based off a heavily modified Unreal 3 engine, one that was practically remodeled so the devs can make these games. Because of it's complexity, it's quite difficult to modify the content that's already there, let alone make new content. Some games were just meant to be modded. Mass Effect is definitely not one of those games. Just making the happy ending mod required a long and dedicated effort by a group of individuals.

However, there is actually a thread for modding and other projects for all 3 Mass Effect games. I'll leave you the link, and maybe you'll get more answers there  :)
