Play CSGO, you'll get real good with Mouse and Keyboard. Then play some Insurgency and BF4 and use xfactors config.

But again, the best way to learn drag and twitch is Counter Strike. Always has been. Those skills will transition to Mass Effect easily.

I play with a Steel Series Sensei Fnatic Mouse. Spec'd at 4800DPI and 12 percent sensitivity for CSGO. For BF4 I have used xfactors config since the BF3 day's so I think it's 3600DPI with 18 percent or something.

Point being.

Play FPS, comp fps to be exact. And ones that require twitch and skill like CSGO, Insurgency or Quake.

Stay away from Call of Derpy.

Is it possible to have an Xbox controller with more buttons? Thought I remember a few games did that. Then the Xbox players could customize like PC. Just need to work a way we can turn as fast as PCers

You get controllers with extra buttons underneath but they normally duplicate other button functions.

Except people take CS WAAAAAY too seriously - me, I just flail around with the DEagles, John Woo stylee, and hope for the best :P

Though, weirdly, I've had CS:GO since launch and never yet played it (CS to 1.6 loads, CS Source loads, CS:GO ... not yet).

They tweaked the recoil of automatics to the point that where your bullets go are only in casual relation to where your crosshairs are pointing. Still is fun but I prefer Source or even CZ (never played 1.6).

The day I discovered about Mouse Dampening, and that it could be removed, changed my life.
And then I had to get used to playing without it. But it was totally worth it.

I've tried playing a bit on console and I just don't understand how you can aim with a controller. It's beyond me. I can move around or move my camera but not both xD You console people are weird :P

Hope you'll get used to PC and have fun on it though.

Turn Mouse Dampening off... horrible thing.
Then it's jsut a matter of getting used to whatever sensitivity you use.

i just turned dampening off yesterday, and had a gammersetting.ini at 85 for mouse sensitivity. Mostly, my mouse was moving as in windows.
First game was unplayable :)
Then I reduced sensitivity to something more playable.
It s a whole lot different... I m unsure it s better, but if U all guys says it is, i ll go along that road.

The point is to trade sensitivity for accuracy. So one has a low-to-zero acceleration but a very big mouse mat to make up for it, hence finer control overall.

What worked for me was getting two Geforce GTX 980, 32 Gb of RAM @2400 Mhz & overclocking my Intel i7 CPU to 4.5 GHz. And now things die instantly as soon as I press my mouse/keyboard. The icing on the cake was getting a 100Mbps internet connection and now I feel like an unstoppable killing machine that fears nothing.

By sensitivity, U mean dot/pixel per inch or said otherwise movement speed ?
I don t like big mouse (my G300 fits me well)

eDong post.

The idea is that you can have a sensitive mouse but make the sensitivity linear, and so enhance your fine control. Also, if you have a big screen and you keep your mouse sensitivity low, you want a big mouse mat :)

that s where mouse dampening, if working properly, can be good. lining your HS require more precise movement and lower sensitivity. But i guess it doesn t work well. And I hope it explains why i suck so much at HS :).
As for size, U speak about the mouse pad, not the mouse itself ;p, the mouse size has just some hand comfort issues

No argument that the mouse needs to fit your hand. Take a look at the Mad Catz R.A.T. range, most of which are size adjustable.

I never liked the default WSAD keyboard map that most games seem to use nowadays.

Arrow keys for movement plus 1,2,3 on the Numpad for powers (and 5,6,7,8 for Ops Packs and so on) has worked fine for me. Probably mostly a matter of getting used to a certain key setup.

LoL. That's my exact setup too.

As other suggested: Disable mouse acceleration, it messes with your muscle memory. I personally use high sensitivity (85-100) in game with my DPI set to 1600.

My other key bindings:

Movement: WASD

OPS pack: E

Medi-gel: Q

Cobra: X

Thermal clip: Z

Heavy melee: F

Light melee: Mouse thumb down button

Mic: Mouse thumb up button

Dodge: Space

Use: C

Run: Shift
