Are the faction leaders considered dead plot wise if they die in the final boss fight?

What the title says, just had a panic after a recent replay that while fighting the archdemon I noticed Kardol and some others die before I could heal them. Was hoping to get a new save ready for inquisition but this is bugging me.

I don't think so. I think they are just knocked out, just like if one of the Warden's companions falls. I know on one of my mage characters Irving "died" during the battle with Archie, but he still showed up at the Coronation, and we had a nice chat.

They aren't considered dead, since they may still show up at the coronation or be mentioned in the epilogue slides, though those are of questionable value.

Eamon on mine.  Archie picked him up and tossed him in the air like a cat with a mouse then gnawed on him a while and he still came back all gussied up at the Post Coronation.

Kinda wished Archie had eaten him actually.

Crunchy Eamon is Archie's favourite snack.

Ah this worries me a bit, he defiantly was not at the coronation after I saw him get dropped by some grunts so think I have goofed.

I think the archdemon nibbled on Kardol during my last run  :D

You only see Irving at the Coronation if you are a mage. Like how you get Fergus if you're a Cousland, Gorim if you're a Dwarf Noble, etc.
