My first playthrough will be a male rogue with a bow. My second favourite superhero is Green Arrow. So, I'd like to recreate him as much as possible. Will be able to change our clothing and armour colours? I apologize for such a basic question but the streams the team has done focused more on customization of facial feature options and showing the different options by race. Do we know how in-depth the clothing and armour options are?

You can change the colors of armor, friend. Mike showed that the armor he wore in one of the streams was only that distinct red shade due to a hide he'd used.

Oh alright, thank you very much. I guess I missed that. Also, are we restricted to using specific pieces of armour of chosen colour or do we get access to the full colour spectrum selector if we're using a hide?

You can only change the color through the difference use of materials, but some materials are stronger or give better boost than others. There are no dyes in the game.

Ah okay, that's exactly what I just edited the post to ask. That's a little disappointing but I understand the reasoning behind it. I wish we could get dyes in the game, though. As I'm sure many of us would love the ability to choose different colours regardless of gear selection.

Yeah, I mean do you want to run around in a Pink and Yellow set of Chain armor even if it has the best stats?  :P but i like the system none the less.

This trailer talks about the crafting system more.

To be totally honest, I'd run around Thedas in Pink Seeker armor all the time with the most anime-level pink hair you've ever seen.

Viv would hate me if I could let out my inner fashionista.

It's just funny how many RPGs overlook such an option, but I can understand if it's more than simply changing the base color on a texture.

I mean its more realistic to an extent. I want to use Cow leather instead of Bronto leather. they're going to be a different shade. same with using Sivilerite over Red Steel.(Is red steel still in the game?)

Well sure, but the option having dyes would allow us that type of customization on top of the varying material system. Like okay, cow leather differs from Bronto leather but then give me the choice of dying either one. That way I can use whatever colour I want while still getting the attributes of the material or I can just use the original shade and materials if I choose to play more realistic by not using dyes.

Coming from someone who always does a "paper doll" run when I play a game (where I only wear armor/use weapons that look good together) I'm still holding out for a hope that they'll introduce dyes in a later installment
