Considering they just gave us a glimps into the quests that will allow us to recuit Bull and Sera....

 

I wonder how many gold will Iron bull require us to pay him so we can recuit him into the Inquisition for a pay him gold option.

 

I wonder what will be the alternative options to recuit him and his Mercs.

I wanted Sera, IB and Solas in my team, but the tanking has really put me off from the combat I have seen, so I am prob going to go 2H warrior now, but it means IB may need to get the chop in exchange for Cass as tank. As I just see him as the 2H warrior muscle not as a tank.

Sigh about people moaning about the video, just seems these days in the forum, that most things Bioware do or show are not good enough.

I agree with this and I was surprised because there's a bit of difference between the two.

Now I wonder if they just dropped the fake Sean Connery idea and FPJ re did his lines with a more natural tone.

I'm scratching my head about The Bull voice ...it could get awkward .

How early do you think we will find our first new companions, after what appears to be the default 3 of Cass, Solas & Varric?

Also what level are they when you find them? the same as you I guess? So if you are due to go up a level soon, best to do that first then pick them up?

We have 9 companions we can take 3, so 9 x 8 x 7 = 504.

 

9 x 8 x 7 gives the total number of permutations, where order matters. (So Sera/Dorian/Bull is counted as different to Dorian/Sera/Bull). 

 

If we're just talking about combinations of three distinct characters, there's 84.

I'm totally open to the idea of her surprising me, don't get me wrong. It'd be awesome if she did. She's just striking off chords for me so far in basically everything I've seen.

I had the same thought. Simple math.

 

It makes sense to downplay that a bit, though, given the different classes making certain combos unlikely. Also, the fact that banter including more than 2 people at a time is probably rare as it was in the previous installments. I loved discovering those gems.

 

On topic, I liked the vid, loved Sera and Dorian's snark, but I thought the narration was odd. Flat, maybe. Like an infomercial.

 

Edit: Or I completely forgot about accounting for order. Whoops. Oh, tricksy math. Still close to 100, and not like some advertising hype thing.

Yeah, it's not quite over 100 though, unless someone was mistakenly counting combinations of 4 in 9 (which I just checked is 126).

 

The Inquisitor is the same person and is always in the party though, so we should only be working out how many separate combinations of 3 party members out of 9 can go with them...

edit: It's 3 among 9 because you always have the inquisitor...unless you count combinations of 2 among 9 which is 36...in what case you get 120

They didn't lie. No one said anything about over 100 follower combinations, it's and I quote: "Lead an Inquisition force of your choosing. From over a hundred different party combinations."

Now, is the Inquisitor themself not part of that force and the party? So it adds up to 210, actually.
