Great video.
Sera--Dorian--TIB
Yes, yes, and YES. This is *my* party, and I'll kick ass if I want to.

'...the rogue...who can make precision strikes with daggers or with bows'
(only shows daggers) ![]()
...Bull sounded an awful lot like Freddy Prinze Junior
(yes I know it is him but he didn't sound very Vega like in that video they showed earlier)
Sera is AWESOME. ![]()
Realized while watching this video that they are showing off my second Inquisitors most likely A team (Yey!
)
Dorian is...AWESOME
Lolz.
All and all a pretty great trailer and it looks freaking gorgeous. I think this trailer was a bit more effective then Hero of Thedas just since everything was a little more slowed down and we could actually tell what was going on.
Predictions for the next Inquistor & the Followers video in no particular order
Inquisitor Mage(race -IDK)
Warrior-Cassandra, Rogue-Varric, Mage-Solas Starter Pack(first people you pick up apparently)
Inquisitor Warrior(race IDK)
Warrior-Blackwall Rogue-Cole Mage-Vivienne (Don't have a clever name for them
)
Bonus The Inquisitor & Specialists(This is unlikely but I'm hopeful. Also if they use all races for Inquisitor this works)
Inquisitor(race IDK)
Cullen, Leliana, Josephine
OH NO! This trailer is awful
Sera has a strong punk/DIY aesthetic that I can appreciate. Her attitude belies her lethal skills. I like about her.
Same!
I don't think we've had a follower like that before--young, idealistic, flippant but passionate and bratty. She's totally my jam. I hope she trolls all the followers and gets into ridiculous arguments and makes horrible, but well meaning decisions sometimes (and brave and seemingly foolish ones that work out too). I'm exciteddd.
I'm pretty sure the events of the game are going to be the catalyst for her becoming more mature, but still retaining her special charm.
Why do so many people seem to be against brighter colours and flashier action? I mean, unless you have photosensitive epilepsy, in which case your concerns are valid.
Because it looks kind of lame, tbh.
I'd rather see warriors and rogues look a bit more realistic with their attacks and dodges and what not. I'd save most of the flashy effects for the mages.

Dragon age is not JRPG
I'm feeling a bit of marketing-fatigue at this point when it comes to DAI. It was nice to get more of an actual sense of the companions, but the mystery and wonder is starting to wear off at this point. Too many trailers. Most of them were disjointed and lacked substantial context, largely to avoid major spoilers. I actually thought the trailers shown at E3 were the best in terms of representing the game in the most positive light and really setting the tone. BioWare should take some cues from other RPG developers such as CDPR and BGS. Very few gameplay trailers, but with substantial quality and execution.
I thought I was going to be able to adapt to the new, flashier DA asthetics and accept that that's how it's supposed to look, but I'm really not sure I can. Not that they're bad by themselves, though (well, my eyes did kind of hurt from all the colorful exploding stuff), but I just don't know if I'll ever get used to them. Yes, DA:O had it's share of stupid effects and stuff, but I'd just wished they went in the opposite direction from there. Instead we have archers/rogues do that:

But on topic:
I'm not sure about how I feel about the companions presented here. I don't follow the game's development closely, so I know very little about them aside from the big trailers. The combination of FPJ's voice and the weird "hot" Qunari with the small head freaks me out. Sera looks like a fun, if possibly annoying character, and archer rogues have proven to be the only kind of rogue I could stomach in DA2. Dorian is a Tevinter mage and (one of) the funny guy(s) on the team? Okay. Also what's up with his 'stache?!
And as I said I'm not up to date - how will we get our Hawke in the game?
They have said you can customise Hawke, so I imagine its round two with the CC at some point during the story.
As for the effects well yes, YMMV - I can't wait to be honest. I found DA:O combat to be a bit dull to be honest but thats just me, I respect the views of others who don't like it.
Only think I'm really overjoyed with is that fire looks like firem, not that weird golden oily ... stuff that proported to be fire in DA2. Yuk.
For me, it wasn't her age; it was her immaturity. She doesn't seem like someone who I would trust to run much because she comes across as flippant, dismissive, and immature. Those are not traits I associate with good decision making. Plus, it's annoying.
Eh, that depends on what the group is all about.
If they're basically a bunch of anarchists it's a pretty good fit. Especially if she's lethal enough to put unruly members in their place.
I saw Hawke in Enemy of Thedas, completely missed him this time around.
Glad to see he may be a bigger part of the story though. I hold no grudge agaisnt him or his character for DA2.
Interesting to hear them talk. Sera definitly seems to have an outstanding personality and Iron Bull's voice sounded pretty awesome. I didn't play ME3 in english so he doesn't sound like Vega at all to me. ![]()
Also the "Stop talking like you're waiting for Applause" line was perfectly delivered, nice to hear some more from the male british VA. Though it would be really great if they could feature the american ones more prominently in one of the upcoming Videos.

Okay, cool, thanks for the info!
And even if the DA:I visuals aren't neccessarily the way I'd personally like them to be I can acknowledge that they're quite pretty, and I'm happy that you and so many other folks like them. All in all I just hope the game will be good and as many people as possible will end up enjoying it. Hopefully I will too when eventually I'll play it.
I'm new to the whole shebang as I only started playing the first two games this summer and I don't get the upset over the effects here. Those things are very clearly in the first two games. Perhaps they're slightly ramped up a notch here but it's not like a "new thang" from what I can see from Origins and 2 so why the hubbub? Don't get it.

Well, to be quite honest, this isn't Power Rangers. I don't want to see enemies, or myself, drowned in sparks every time I get hit. Especially if you are a warrior or a rogue, the only effects I remember in DAO was excessive blood, and in DA2 bodies would explode. Now we seem to be participating in some warped Hello Kitty Nightmare Adventure. Last time I checked, humans weren't made out of circuits and wires. Perhaps something has changed in Thedas since we last played?

Just because it isn't new doesn't make it good. The combat has played poorly and looked even worse in Origins and 2. I was hoping for more evolution.

Well I am playing Origins right now and the effects are there i.e. lightning flashes, explosions, bright flames etc and it doesn't look quite as spectacular as the effect in Inquistions demo vids but it is: there. Maybe you played without a mage? I've got Morrigan and Wynne in my party pretty much permanently and so I see a lot of flashes and bright whiz-bangy things in combat and yes sometimes it is distracting but not immersion-breaking.

Ok that's a valid argument. I wasn't saying that it was necessarily outstanding just that it was not new and was comparable to the pattern set by the older games. It might indeed be brighter and flashier but It's not a new development. I guess it doesn't look like it will bug me from what I can see in the vids especially as some of the fantasy rpg's I've been playing already have flashy magical effects. Just seems "standard" for the genre but I can accept someone saying they'd like to see something new or a new way of doing it at least.

That's exactly my point... We should only see these kind of "effects" coming from mages, if anyone. In DAI, these effects seem to come from mages, warriors, and rogues. That's the issue. Everything in moderation. Before you know it, this game will be called Tron Inquisition at this rate.

Fair enough but before I get bothered about it I have to see, cause I probably will start as a warrior, if my swords and axes add these effects even when they are not magically enhanced. If they do that might be irritating.
I actually will prefer a Advisor trailer for DAI so people can get to know the Advisors and what functions they can provide.
We have plenty of trailers showing off the companions and what the companions and the Inquisitor can do but none that shows what the Advisors can do for the Inquisitor.

If I were to guess I think we are going to get three companion trailers, an adviser trailer, and then the launch trailer till release. Seems to make sense with the time we have left.
