Right now having a tought time against Revenants. So far I have managed to kill them but after many attempts and many health poltices and lyrium potions. Anyway, coming to the question I wanted to ask, is using armor and equipment that support spirit damage and spirit resistance useful against a Revenant? Any other helpful tips for taking on revenants?

Morrigan's really good against them, I spec her with telekinetic weapons(armor pen due to revenants high armor), force field, and her debuffs which can really limit what the revenant can do damage wise. A good strategy might be to cc him first and have your group pick off the adds. The revenant does do spirit damage so a spirit balm for your tank would help. Also, spread out your group because he has a nasty aoe melee which will rip your group to shreds. However, if you can kill him really quickly this won't matter and you can just heal thru the damage.

THanks for your tips...Though I have killed a few revenants before but it's always taken an eternity and a LOTof health poltices and lyrium potions. Anyway, will follow your suggestion in the next battle against revenant though.

You might just be underleveled or undergeared if you're struggling. I was lvl 12-13 trying to kill revenants in the brecilian forests and was getting my ass handed to me. I come back at lvl 15 and whoop their demonic butts without breaking a sweat.

Spirit's not particularly useful, either damage or resistance. By and large they do physical and a bit of cold, though their pull does a small amount of spirit. Overall they're slightly weak to fire, neutral against lightning and spirit, and immune to nature and cold. However the mage's treasure ones in the brecilian forest have high resistance to fire and spirit too.
Of course, there's no reason not to use any strong spirit nukes that you have.

Very true. Not only was I under-leveled and under-geared, I was also intelligence-deprived! I never understood the tactics properly which is a very important part of this game. As of today, I try to equip the best armor and weapons for my party members. For weapons, I take care to use rune-laced weapons. But most importantly, I have understood the benefit of micromanaging tactics. I hadn't even realized how powerful Morrigan was until I understood her Entropy skills and used them in tactics. Now she does most of the damage for the party! (something that I used to do, before undestanding tactics). Today , my team (myself, Morrigan, Sten and Alistair) took on a Revenant in Brecilian Forest (not the Revenant in the "Mage Treasure" quest but one of those "philacetry" ones). We killed the Revenant in no time (with just one party member falling but I guess that's ok). Revenge was sweet!
