This repair matrix free build has worked out better for me than any other for this character. It may be more of a commentary about how I've failed to make repair matrix work, but this way (cloak->snap freeze(with the trigger pulled in the middle of the animation on the claymore)->shoot) has let me score even higher than a similarly equipped Salarian infiltrator.

Given how the cooldown of Cloak works, I'd recommend using a different armour mod than a Power Efficiency consumable. The power damage evo's in passives aren't a great choice either, in my opinion, Snap Freeze's base damage is too low to make them worthwhile.
Still, whatever works for you, I suppose.

Repair matrix isn't as good on platinum, so I can definitely see people skipping it for more overall survivability.

If it's working, that's good. I agree with Cato about the power damage evos.
I don't know the details, but there is apparently some issue with the Tactical Cloak's Rank 6 shotgun damage bonus not applying properly, causing a lot of people to spec out of it. If you ever decided to try Repair Matrix again, you could get three points by sacrificing TC Rank 6, and make back the shotgun damage by switching power passives out for weapon passives.

I will say that I'm a big fan of speed bonuses for survivability. It's not directly analogous, but I often forget that my Drell Assassin only has 300 shields because he is so fast that he's very hard to kill (the brick sh*thouse level of health probably goes a long way in that regard, too.)
My biggest issue with Repair Matrix is that the speed bonus build requires a lot of investment in it, and I prefer to only use 3 points, if I can get away with it.

No Repair Matrix (I actually -never- even used it once) and with her fast heavy melee she can take out anything that's still standing after getting shot in the face. A lot of fun to play.

Someone may want to corroborate this but I remember reading in a thread recently that if she shoots to break cloak, she gets the shotgun bonus, but if she uses a power or does something else to break cloak, she may not get the shotgun bonus.

I don't get why skipping a power which restores your shields (by a little amount, but that's often enough to save your life), gives you potentially an infinite stock of medi-gels and boost your speed movement by already 20% at rank 4 (great to avoid shots, carry the pizzas, reach a teammate who is bleeding out, be the first on the spawns if you like playing aggressively, etc.) for full fitness. The 11 points you invest to get the ranks 5 and 6 of fitness give you only 150 additional shields and 100 more health, so almost nothing. With a 66464 build, you have already more than 1000 shields, and a power with all the advantages I listed above. Equip an adrenaline module instead of a power efficiency module (not useful if you always use Snap Freeze under Cloak), and you will be moving like a drell, with the shields of a quarian.
I can understand people who skip Repair Matrix because they find this power cheap or want to be hipters but, if we talk about pure efficiency, there's no way a 66066 build can surpass a 66464 build.

Given how my Claymore does a tremendous amount of damage with her (compared with other infiltrators), she definitively get the bonus in certain situations but, as you do, I am not sure about the exact conditions.

Repair matrix can be a big risk on platinum, as you always need to fight in very close proximity of the enemy you will take a lot of damage more range based classes can avoid (if you don't believe me try geth/Rio/platinum with 3 infiltrator snipers), the issue in some cases is that you go directly back up into a banshee hug or a phantom sync kill, it can be quite frustrating. Trying full health instead could be a good option for platinum specifically, as you then can use a medigel once those enemy types have moved away.
Beats me how repair matrix is a "risk" and why Infiltrators would need full health, except when they spec for melee damage.

On-host everything works as it should. Off-host, not all the pellets from the shotgun always get the bonus 25% damage; also, breaking cloak with Snap Freeze seems to cause the following shot to lack the bonus damage. Here's Peddro's thread on the subject.

Restores Shields, Gives brief invulnerability, gives damage reduction and lasts long enough to get you out of trouble. Despite it being a crutch, there are a lot of things that are more crutchy. I can't pass on this power, because it's very useful and it don't have to use an Ops or a Medi-gel.

I'm sorry, but I lol'd. What is Repair Matrix if not more survivability? Even better on plat than other difficulties due to how easy it is to get downed.
3 Points:
1. Adrenaline Module...what else is better?
2. If using Repair Matrix, fitness is almost always a waste of points imo
3. Duration cloak ftw, AIU does plenty of damage already...why not have the option to be invisible for 11 seconds? Objectives, medic, etc. (solo builds could benefit more from damage...but)

From my experience, if you get downed in a bad spot you're dead no matter how much you tap the RM button.
RM can be really useful when you're super aggressive on gold difficulty and lower, but on platinum I feel like whenever I RM I'm inviting more trouble.

No no... when you RM you ARE the trouble!
Until you get too aggressive and walk into a bunch of triple tapping geth rocket troopers and RM doesn't get you up because of lag.
Then you curse yourself for using it.
