Even AC games have been rather lousy when it comes to scale for actual cities. ACU will potentially be the first one yet to really evoke that since of scale since Paris is being built almost to a 1:1 scale. Honestly though, BioWare has no tradition of size or scale in any of their games. They'd have to receive tips from Rockstar or BGS to really get a sense of how to make a city sprawling and bustling with activity. Skyhold is rather dense and active, even if it's only for the Inqusition.

Regardless of 1:1 and all that, AC games are still large. My point being, it's crafted well as a city.

I agree with you about Bioware, but that doesn't change the fact that they SHOULD.

For some context, I'm one of the people who think Mass Effect 4 should have been Mass Effect: Noir, a game set ONLY on the Citadel. So a large, large city focus.

heh, DA:2 completely ruined that concept for me. Kirkwall was about as interesting as the inside of my sock drawer

According to pcgames.de, the player can visit Val Royeaux. :) I don't know how big the area is, though.

There's no triple A RPG that's included anything worth considering a city. Skyrim has villages that pretend to be cities. DS1-2 have what you might call city ruins, but they're not proper cities in the way this thread talks about them.

Assassin's Creed has pretty convincing city landscapes

I doubt that we will see cities with this kind of quality. If anything it will be a hub that's part of a city.

Mike Laidlaw already confirmed a while ago that DAI will be focusing on multi-regional environments. There will be a few urban settings, but the majority of the game will be experienced in the wilderness.
