Has there been any update on how Bioware will participate in the early access program? DA is literally the only game I would buy it for but I'd like some idea of what I would get. Five dollars for only 20 min of gameplay is something I'd probably pass on despite how excited I am for the game. But if it's a couple of hours or even better if it allows me to get an early start on my character that could connect with the full game that would be awesome.

As far as I've heard. It's a 5 day early access to the game and your progress will carry over when you buy the game.
To add to this post, I believe you are only allowed to play up to a certain point, before you have to wait for the official release to finish the game. The EA Early Access is really more of a promotion to get paid "beta access" to a game before everyone else has played it. You don't have access to the full game, but you certainly will get a head start.

EA Access, thus far, has only been available to sports games(FIFA, Madden, NHL)... The "early access" has been being able to play the game for 6 hours prior to it's release. It's not unreasonable to think that the early access to DAI will be the same thing: Being able to play the game for 6 hours total.
But, because DAI is an RPG and not a sports game, it's possible that instead of a trial period, there will be a cutoff point in the game, where you can play as much as you want but can't ever pass said point in the game until it releases... Until November, there won't be any information on what DAI in EA Access will entail... And that's assuming there's any word prior to the 13th of November when the "5 days early" period starts.

Does this exist for DA? I'll totally pay to play 5 days early, provided that they give a real build, not some buggy pre-release build..
How do I get it?

You buy an Xbox One, then you sign up for EA Access via their website, and download the game when it is available on the console.

Thanks. I didn't know it had been 6 hours for other games. That would DEFINITELY be worth $5. Hope we deal with that kind of timeframe and then a cutoff. Make those last 5 days go a whole lot quicker.

Debatable. If it's based on a number of hours, that number would be in total. So you could, theoretically, play all that time on the 13th, and be in the same boat you are now. Waiting for the game to come out. There are pros and cons to both a timer and a cutoff...

Oh I was thinking more like Kingdoms of Amalur where they had a cutoff point but you could replay that as often as you wanted to.

I think you will be able to play up until a certain mission but have unlimited time to do the things before that mission, such as CC and maybe a small area.

Those are the two options. A cutoff, where you can play as much as you want but only to a set point, or a timer, where you can do as much as you can, with no limit to what you could do, so long as you don't go past the time limit.
For every sports game on EA Access(which have been the only games available for early access thus far), they have gone the timer route. Six hours(total) to play, and you keep your progress, should you get the game in the future....
As I said, it's not unreasonable to think they'll keep to the same pattern. Especially since it's explicitly said that you aren't playing a demo.... But, because RPGs aren't sports games, they could go the cutoff route for DAI...

I don't get why they don't just tell us what you get it seems kinda pointless to hold it back at this point same with the other pre-order bonus.

They have. From the EA Access site:
If you’re an EA Access member, you can download upcoming EA games before the release date to try for a limited time.
People just seem to want to believe that the "limited time" is going to mean something different for DAI than it did for Madden, Fifa, and NHL 15...

I'm hoping it's a narrative cutoff rather than a timer. I'd hate to feel rushed. There are people who will spend six hours in CC alone. ![]()

It's six hours of playtime roughly a week before launch.
Pretty decent deal for a month, especially since you will also be able to play other titles on offer.

It's too bad that it's only xbox one exclusive. I'd love to be able to play DAI a little early on my ps4, even if it's only for a few hours.

Why would it be 6 hours? Because it was 6 hours for sports games? That makes zero sense. two completely different genres. The reason they said it was not a 'demo' is only because your save carries over into the full game, so instead it is a 'trial'.

I really really wish EA had this for pc users, I do not understand why they don't?
I mean with PS4 it was because sony wouldn't allow it, and with xbone microsoft gets a cut of the money.
With PC EA has no middleman to go through, they get all the profits and no overhead, so why do they seem to not be interested in allowing it?
I know plenty of people that'd jump at the chance to subscribe (I know I would for DA:I).
Heck, if the saves even carried over (from xbone to pc) I would do it, but I don't think they do.

There not gonna give you full access to the game for 5 days if they did that no one would buy the game i say it will be 6 hours and it will cut off and lock out for you like i stated i might give it try but am not sure i want to pick up a controller to play it plus trying to wrestle the controller away form my brother is gonna be hard lol

Microsoft doesnt allow save files to be exported and the format is probably different anyway.
Probably EA are doing this with microsoft so that microsoft lowers their cut. Microsoft gets more people buying the console in return for giving ea a larger cut
