Well, Shale and Sten had very dark skin. Darker than Zevran's.

I don't think it's fair to ask the writers to rewrite a game they've worked very hard on, change characters that they've spent 2+ years developing, and spend extra resources to delay the game again.

There are things I'd love to have in the game too but I do NOT expect the game developers to cater to my needs/demands.

The world does not work that way. We can't always  get what we want. 

 

I plan to try all the romances as this game offers unlimited replayability.

 

If you have issues romancing a particular character, thats on you. 

 

The writers have the right to create/write the characters how they want to be.  They do not owe us anything.

I'm actually really happy with the choices they made. A lot of the characters seem really interesting and their preferences are part of their personality, so I can't argue with that. Plus, I plan to play through most, if not all races with a mix of genders anyways, so I have no reason to make any complaints.

Cullen and Solas were added last as romances so they are more gated than others.. both sexuality and race. Also Iron Bull is pansexual and I know lot of people who love him some people would be unhappy regardless of who were into both male and female Inquisitor.

 

I'd love bisexual un-gated Cullen but alas it didn't just happen.

While I think that this thread is a bit late to the party, I do like the idea of repeating for the devs who might read it:

 

Please give us a "white knight" character as an m/m option in the next DA game!  There's a huge demand for it with the m/m audience and it's not something that's been explored yet.  The Alistair, Sebastian, Cullen, Blackwall type of knight in shining armor character can also appeal to m/m players too.  I would love for a strong, dedicated warrior type, like Julien or Nicolas, to be bisexual or gay.

Heterosexual female here.  I plan on doing as many of the romances as I can in game, which means making whatever gender PC it takes.  

In particular I was hoping Dorian would be an option for women as I totally love the dashing mustache, but I'll be making a hot male Inquisitor to romance him.  Sera prefers the ladies? No problem, one lovely lady inquisitor coming up.

 

While I do plan on Cullen for first (or maybe Blackwall--haven't decided yet), they won't be the last.

Cullen only liked the female Mage in Origins, so it kinda goes with his character regardless. They are being true to a character that was already in the DA universe. I'm a heterosexual male and hell, I'm romancing Dorian first He just seems awesome!

I would prefer they add someone else rather then re-working an existing character who is heterosexual to be bisexual. If the writers thought he would be bisexual they would have made him be. Just as Iron Bull doesnt care who he gets into bed with, Cullen is slightly racist and only likes Humans and Elves

I think the race-gating is because of lack of time for Solas and Cullen, since they are only ones that got that and they are newest romances. However I guess we have to wait and see what the "story-reasons" behind their race-gatings are.

Well, back in DA:O Cullen did refer to Dwarves as heathens, so I don't know that time had that much of an influence on it, at least as far as Cullen's attraction towards Dwarves goes. I assume it's the same with his feelings for Qunari though.

 

But hey, I could be completely wrong and there is another reason entirely - people and their tastes do change over time.
