I was wondering when the dragon age keep becomes active can u redesign your hawk and more importantly your grey warden. so when u do meet them in the game they can look they way you remember them or want to remember them, so you instantly recognize them. I don't care so much what there outfits are just there race and face practically the grey warden since I like the idea of mine being an elf wizard instead of wizard human. it be cool to decide but its exciting seeing what they have become since u last saw them but it be more *impactful* to decide what they look like. thanks any info on this subject would be most appreciated and I would be most grateful :)

Warden will not physically appear in DAI. Hawke will, but you do not customize them in the Keep. It will be available somewhere in the game.

We won't be seeing the Warden and the Keep doesn't allow you to edit or import your characters look. Hawke however is in and the devs have said you will be able to coustimize what he/she looks like in game.

Presumably, Hawke will just get the same CC as the Inquisitor does.

My Hawke wil look like my warden then we could both sing about men in the mirror to each other.

Kinda wondering where we customize Hawke. Either we spend twice as long in the CC (which will be murder for some people, especially if you accidentally push back once too many times) or we get an awkward cc in the middle of the game ('Oh, guess who's about to appear!').

Maybe it happens in a scene where you are asking Varric about Hawke and as he starts to describe Hawke it goes to the CC. That'd be neat.

That's actually probably the best solution. During Character Creation is too much cc before even getting to play, right before Hawke appears spoils the surprise and is very jarring, but while asking Varric would actually work with the story.

From what we've been told, keep seems to import text only. Appearances, gender and what have you are only decided in game if and when they are needed.

Yeah that's what I heard too, that you can't customize appearances in the keep.

It's true, but gender do matters in the Keep.

thanks guys/gals I appreciate the info and that's less stress off my back at least I don't have to worry about my warden , hawk I kept his mage original face self so I feel more at ease now I just have to get every thing I did in the games to the keep and ill be as happy as zevran receiving some Ativan leather boots when traveling in a foreign land for a long time in a place about to bring huge glory while saving the land while being chased by fellow assassins in a place that offers only a slight chance of death due to the smart company I keep or to put it simply pretty happy

So here's my question. Will Hawke's portrait be saved and brought over into DAI so that we have a reference for which Hawke we're recreating?

From what we've seen of the cc you'll probably be better off getting some screen caps tbh.

Pretty sure gender has been recorded from imported saves to the Keep, as opposed to the actual physical appearance which presumably will be re-created in-game.
