I try to change mine weekly or if I like it, it will stick around longer,
I'm also interested in the psychology of avatars, like if other posters are effected by what kind of avatar they use.

I usually change it by mood. If I feel like consuming the souls of the innocent, I'll prolly go with the one I have now. Or Illidan.

I rarely change my avatar, and only did so when too many people didn't recognize Scarecrow. 
I'd actually be happy if we were only able to use the original avatars from the old BSN, but I'm just crazy like that.

I like changing avi's frequently but I don't usually change them every day, once every few days more like it, it depends on how much I like the one I'm using or if I suddenly stumble across something I just gotta use. These last two days I've been changing avi's like crazy but that's not because I was bored with the ones I was using, it was more because I was searching for one I liked, I couldn't find one I truly liked, it's hard to see what an avi will look like until you try it out, which is one thing I really miss about the old bsn, the ability to be able to try out avi's in "secret" so people doesn't think that I'm a freak because I change avi's every few hours or so LOL, it's really a shame we can't do that here in the new bsn, seriously, everyone can immediately see the avi's I try out, that kinda bothers me a bit...
And I see my avi's as them representing me in some form or another, so they just have to be good or nearly amazing, that's very important to me since I don't use my selfie unlike others on bsn 
It probably sounds crazy but that's how I think because I have this little silly tendency to sometimes get a small impression on a user based upon their avi's....

I started changing it when we got the option to select the avvi without going through that horrific process...
Started with Garrus, kept it a day or so, and switched back to this one. It fits more with my name and Character... I'm planning to change it to special events, like Halloween and Christmas...

I change when I get too bored by the old Avatar and if I have a new good screenshot with an Omnitool or an Omniblade on it.
Sadly the screenshots tend to be a bit too small and/or too dark when uploaded here as avatar.

Ye Ole' Jayne Cobb avy is by far my favorite. I'd prolly never change it but for the "Rename the above member based on their Avy." and "What is the above Avatar thinking" Threads.
It's nice to change it up sometimes to get some different responses. Some people never change theirs and it makes those threads pretty boring sometimes...
