You wouldn't have to alter the PvE side of the game at all.

You could make PvP however you wanted, new races, skills, weapons ,armour etc etc the options are lim1tless and none of them would have to impact the PvE side of the game in any way.

You're right in thinking the PVP could be done entire separately.

On the other hand, there isn't an infinite amount of money to develop the game either. That means that every effort for PVP will be taken from either SP or PVE. I'm sorry but that is unacceptable.

There are loads of PVP games out there, we don't need to get our PVE experience diluted by what is mostly teen males badmouthing everything and trying to prove their E-Peen is bigger than everyone else. PVP players aren't all like that, but there is a very visible community that specialize in being jerks so excuse me if they're not welcome here...

I wouldn't care if they had a pvp mode as long as it was a separate button and a separate choice.

All the talk about class balance for PVP, and forgetting an obvious thing in HP/damage scaling. Player's abiities are designed to go against enemies with thousands of HP, while Player's health only numbers in hundreds.

You make some good points actually especially about limited budgets hence any PvP expenditure would take away from the PvE side of things and if it didn't have a significant amount devoted to PvP it would be crap anyway. I hadn't considered that.

As i mentioned i'm new to DA but from what i can tell it seems to be a pretty good community with mostly well mannered players, which isn't something that you generally associate with PvP communities.

I do think that the "idea" of PvP with your Inquisitor and party could be fantastic PvP but in reality it is most likely unacheivable.

Thanks for your reply.

I'd say we got the "pretty good community with mostly well mannered players" because it's only PVE(1). The rotten apples went to play something else(2) and the game isn't "easy" to solo either(3). Those 3 things "forced" the players to be well mannered to survive like a self fulfilling prophecy.

PVP would be possible in a DA kind of game, but it would target a very different crowd even if there's some overlapping with the current one. I doubt it would be as successful as PVE because of the community.

probably going to see more cooperative PVE and less competitive PVE (like ME3 at times). ;)

In most of the games with PvP, the damage is scaled in certain percent value against other players, maybe the damage will only do 1% - 5% against other players as opposed to monsters.
