I've played this game so many times but I want to know your opinions on the best ME3 non-dlc guns for a vanguard.

M-11 Wraith, if you can afford it. You can stick with the Katana or the Eviscerator until then. A good backup weapon would be the M-5 Phalanx, since SMGs don't cover long distances well. At Level V, you can carry both and retain a 195% recharge bonus, without weight-affecting mods.

Claymore shotgun.

Wraith shotgun.

Talon pistol.

Hurricane SMG (Collector's Edition or modding required).

 

Eagle pistol maybe? (Collector's Edition or modding required).

Hornet SMG likely.

 

Katana, Scimitar, and Eviscerator can be good because the Vanguard can stack some decent weapon bonuses plus Incendiary Ammo with Explosive Burst is just cheating.

 

Basically, any gun that has good burst damage or can fire extremely rapidly or fires multiple shots at once.

With CE/modding, you can carry a Wraith, an Eagle and Hurricane with Ultralight Materials. With all of them at Level V, it's possible to keep the cooldown bonus at around 195%

M-358 Talon + Power Magnifier V + Heavy Barrel V. Period. (Cooldown = 200% if your Shep is correctly specced).

 

For a Vanguard it doesn't get better than that, if you want the Power Damage bonus without compromising firepower.

 

 

 

 

(P.D: Both are DLC weapon mods, but if you're playing ME without DLC's, well....your loss).

Big fan of the wraith myself,  I will usually go with a wraith/AR or wraith/smg combo on vanguards.  Until I can afford the wraith I go with the evicerator.
