Its also worthy of taking notice that Dreamers are the only mages who can wash the floor with demons if they are strong enough so it works both ways. It has its own benefits but its definitely not without risks.

I have three worldstates, so Feynriel has a different fate in each of them.
I actually let him be possessed in my mage hero worldstate, because my mage Hawke was an ass. My diplomatic warrior Hawke helped him leave for Tevinter.
You broke the chain!

Touche. You have a point. A Dreamer Abomination....now I'm a little scared.
That would make for an excellent boss battle though. Hopefully Bioware thought of this... if not in DA:I, then in DA4... although I guess I wouldn't actually get to see it... still, it would be pretty cool.

Tranquil. The kid begged me to end his misery, it woud have been cruel to deny his wish.
That's because you failed in the fade. If you choose the right dialogues he will realize he can train more to control his powers and in that scenario Hawke must attack him to make him a tranquil, he doesn't wish it.

Feynriel is easily in the top 5 threats to Thedas. The only reasonable decission to make, is to Tranquilize him. That way you at least tried to make the world a little safer. Though with the cure for Tranquility now widely known by mages, that may not be a permanent enough solution.
The cure for Tranquility? What is that?

Not choosing the same dialogue options you chose does not mean failing a quest, bub.
I chose exactly the options I meant to choose, and got exactly the result I meant to get. Success all around.

I think Feynriel has the potential to be an upper level Dreamer, a very powerful force. That said, he's gonna be plagued by many, many demons vying for his power during his lifetime.

No you failed to warn Feynriel properly. You are warned that if you are not convincing enough when you converse with Feynriel as her mother and First Enchanter Orsioni he will trip. That's exactly what happened, bub.

I will mostly likely stick to a single world state for imports and learn about the variations from the wiki and forums. In my import, Hawke didn't make a deal with Torpor.

WTH??? Then why would I be spending all this time on the Inquisition forums? I mean, I'm a little odd at times, but I'm not (totally) insane! xD

Now, now, I have a heart for you: ![]()
It's not mine, but surely it belonged to someone one day.
I don't know, it was in a jar in the basement.

You are assuming I talked with Orsino at all. Or that I ever intended to save Feynriel, to begin with. Failure is when you're tying to accomplish something and don't manage to, success is when you set out to do something and all goes according to plan. My quest went just fine.
I'm not sure you noticed, but there are several different ways to play this game. You ought to try something different one of these days, it might surprise you how much content there is packed in there that you're missing out on by not playing out of your comfort zone and exploring different choices.

I have "explored" those zones, I have seen everything in the game. Whether you did it intentionally or no that route is failing to properly warn Feynriel. Also I said Converse AS Orsino and Feynriel's mother not WITH them.I'm talking about when in the fade you change into them and talk as them to Feynriel. Before that you are warned that if you are too bold Feynriel can trip and that's what happens with your route. You have to gradually tell Feynriel its a trick the demons are playing on him and make him realize he is talking with a demon on his own. If you do that instead of wishing to be made Tranquil he is encouraged to control himself but you can still make him Tranquil regardless.
Edit: Here it is, see 5:32 onwards for Feynriel's reaction:

Ok, I don't know how many other ways there are to tell you "I chose the dialogue options that led him to beg to be made Tranquil on purpose because that's what I intended to the whole time," so here's a last attempt: I chose the dialogue options that led him to beg to be made Tranquil on purpose because that's what I intended to the whole time. I wanted this result. I got it. Hurray.
Here, you have a heart too:
Fresh out from the basement where I keep all my jars, this one probably belonged to a Tranquil mage so you can love it and care for it and nurture it back to health while I go out hunting for a few more to replenish my stocks, and we both can go back to playing our games the way we want to.
