I have sent him to Tevinter in all of my playthroughs. However I will likely have one world state where he ends up tranquil, just to see how it pans out. That world state will be rather terrible though, as I'm currently playing Origins with a psychotic elven mage who wants to see the world burn. I think a Dreamer will be an interesting character to run into during the events of Inquisition.

A lot of people gave this kid a fate described as worse than death...
Tranquility isn't worse than death. It being cured and suddenly being flooded with emotions is.
I'm almost positive that wasn't the case, given that the entire quest was played for laughs.
I played DA][ for laughs. Guess it didn't happen and no one was serious. I bet a lot of people are happy knowing this.

Hey, he might not know Dorian if he went to Tevinter. He might be with the Venatori, believing that their cause will help.

For the record, I would have preferred simply killing him, but unfortunately that wasn't one of the options...

Considering he saved a women with his powers after sending him there lets see what happens in inquisition before we judge.
Even if we assume that everything was as it seemed in that quest, we still have no guarantees that he won't be corrupted in the future. All it might take is for his master to place him in a position where he has to compete against other apprentices with less scruples.
It's better to eliminate the danger before he can harm anyone.

Interesting to see how many people made him tranquil.
I personally sended him to Tevinter, but I can understand those that made him tranquil as well.

Considering the man wanted to die rather than being made tranquil again I think he would rather be flooded with emotions going by the book. Plus another case of a mage being released from Tranquility for a moment wanted to die.
So yeah its a fate worse than death if in both cases they beg to die before being made tranquil again. I refuse to make someone tranquil ever I could never do that to someone I would rather kill them.

Feynriel is easily in the top 5 threats to Thedas. The only reasonable decission to make, is to Tranquilize him. That way you at least tried to make the world a little safer. Though with the cure for Tranquility now widely known by mages, that may not be a permanent enough solution.
I don't believe that the cure is widely known in the least. As wasn't the man who knew the cure killed?
in either case my hawke sent him to tevinter.

He was, but Rhys and company had sent the "recipe" for the cure to all other Circles prior to his death.
(Narratively speaking I think this is a good thing, since that means Feynriel can come back no matter what, and he can show to everyone what a menace he truly is)

Am i the only one that made a deal with the sloth demon? Tranquility and Tevinter are way to safe opinions, but a crazy dreamer abomination can be a challenge. As for mages becoming abominations, i also accepted the offer of the desire demon and gifted Connor to her in the Dao. Also in a quest Assunder in deep roads i resurrected the pride demon and let him go.

Guarantee? There are no guarantees for anything in life. Your neighbour might run amok and kill you the next minute you don't watch. Will you kill her just in case?

I've played DA2 many times and I've seen each option on some version of Hawke, but my "canon" Hawke was not interested in anything Torpor had to say. Out of the three options, I almost always made Feynriel Tranquil, but some Hawkes were too power-hungry to pass up its bargain (typically mages or rogues). I've sent him to Tevinter once. Maybe twice. Tranquility is simply the best option for my favorite version of Hawke.
As for Connor, my canon Warden didn't think twice about selling him to the demon in exchange for blood magic. Hopefully something interesting comes of that, but if not, it was still a fun rp.
In the case of the Fade Beast from Asunder, I always take the deal regardless of the morality of my Warden. Now that I think about it, I didn't play as heroic Wardens very often, and even then they tended to be kind of greedy... considering the amount of coin on the table, this wasn't really a hard choice...

Killing him would be a guarantee.
Regardless, I'm not killing Feynriel, I'm taking his weapon away. It's the same logic used by gun control.
And, of course, let us not forget that the degree of danger he poses to all of Thedas is way above that of my neighbour. Remember the comics where a Dreamer tried to shape the very souls of all Thedas through the Fade so every single living being would be willing slaves?
I'd say one teenager's mind is worth eliminating that risk.

Perhaps, but you'd have to weigh that not just against the absence of risk, but against the possible gain from having a living non-possessed Dreamer. From my POV, the existence of a Dreamer is worth considerable risk in itself.
Also, for all intents and purposes you *are* killing him. Ask Karl.

Again, that was Ander's forcing emotions back into him. Tranquil don't feel discontent as Tranquil. It's the cure that makes them feel this way. Tranquil have no reason to lie and have complete free will. Many of them prefer that existence to one as a mage.
So yeah its a fate worse than death if in both cases they beg to die before being made tranquil again. I refuse to make someone tranquil ever I could never do that to someone I would rather kill them.
I'm not sure what you're trying to say here, but considering every other Tranquil speaks about the situation in a different light, and that the only ones who hate it are forced through the cure, I don't think your reasoning is the most sound.

For starters, he does seem much more susceptible to possession than your average Joe mage, even if you send him to learn from the Dalish. Second, even Feynriel himself is disturbed by what he sees of magic in Tevinter. I doubt they place a premium on ethics education for their mages. He does use his dreamer powers to save a girl in Act 3, though, so his heart's in the right place even if the way he killed those men was creepy as hell.
It's not by any means an indictment on Feynriel's character. He's a nice kid, and I sent him to Tevinter in most of my playthroughs. He's just a dangerous kid too, and for some PCs, the threat that his Dreamer powers can be co-opted for destruction through no fault of his own is enough to make him Tranquil.

My Hawke didn't know enough about magic to make that assessment. Keeper told me I shouldnt be surprised if I had to do it. The lad said he couldn't control things and begged for it.Can't believe a lot people made him tranquil. What makes you think that he can't use his powers for good?
In that context it was the kindest thing to do.
Tranquil.
