no offense to Trevor Morris, the music he has done for DAI sounds quite nice. But I feel it pales compared to Inon's previous work in the franchise. He brought a unique sound to the games, Morris, imo sounds a little too Game of Thronesy for me. And no...I don't like Game of Throne...

What do you think? would you have prefered Inon Zurr return for DAI? Or, which composure would you prefer for DAI if not?

From what I've heard I prefer Trevor Morris. The music was the one thing I felt was lacking in dragon age. I like other music Mr. Zur has created, but  dragon age's music just never did it for me, until now.

Sorry not missing Zur, the main theme for DAI is incredible.

I think Inon Zur did a few wonderfully great songs (Leliana's song, High Fantasy.), but the regular soundtrack for battles and walking through towns was very forgettable. Trevor Morris doesn't seem to be having that problem.

DAI OST sounds more "professional", but Inon Zur's soudtracks are more recognizable and unique. Both are amazing... I'd prefer Inon, though.

Honestly, Inon Zur didn't exactly blow me away last time around in DA II and I've really liked what I've heard from Inquisitions thus far. Zur had a few memorable tracks, no doubt about it, but the majority of his DA soundtracks were quite honestly forgettable.

Morris has this one well in hand by the sound of it

Regardless of the composer, DA has been great.

Other than Fenris' Theme, Lake Calenhad Docks and Leliana's Song (which I never liked, but will admit is iconic) most of the tracks in DAO and DA2 were decidedly bland. Zur can do great work, but his work on DAO always felt decidedly lacklustre.

We havent heard the whole soundtrack yet, just clips so we cant properly form an opinion on who is better just yet.

I certainly don't miss him. Almost all of his work in DA is unmemorable and doesn't make me feel anything at all, not exactly something you want in a "cinematic" game. Everything we've heard so far from Trevor Morris has been amazing. Heck, even the combat music puts anything Inon Zur did to shame.

I like some of Zur's stuff (particularly Icewind Dale 2), but I never loved his Dragon Age stuff. I like the new stuff we've heard WAY more.

Hiring Trevor Morris has been one of Bioware's best decisions.

I prefer the old theme over the new one. It has a Dragon Age dark fantasy - heroic- sacrifice - unknowing - sadness vibe to it, the new theme is good but it's easy to forget IMO. Oh and don't let me start talking about Skyhold's dramatic drums... :D

I much prefer the new style of music tbh. I have the soundtracks of the older games and there really aren't many themes on there I like. They fit the game while you're playing but they aren't so noticeable or nice to listen to. My favorite piece is the "Hawke Family Theme" because it's evocative and fitting. The rest all sound so samey.

Funny, seems to be the opposite. To each their own.

Music for me can take a mediocre game and make it awesome. the mass effect games were good, but the music made them better, the Dragon age games are good (for me) the music never enhanced anything.

Im glad they changed artists and from what i have heard so far Dragon Age has finally got the music it deserves to enhance the experience and turn a good product into a great product

Its all personal taste though, much like everything

I like these better than any of the combat music in the last couple of games

And I like the main theme a lot too.

So with that being all we have to go on, I tentatively completely disagree.

OP, where did you get the complete soundtrack for Dragon Age Inquisition?  I must have it so I can make a determination of which soundtrack is better.  Then I can make a non-rash decision as to who is the better composer.

What in the soundtrack for DA:I made you feel Inon Zurr work was superior composer for Dragon Age?
