I love both, but Morris has done it a bit better.... The game needs more music like Skyrim had. This game is huge but there isn't enough music to cover it. I find myself wondering in the wilderness without any music in the backround. There is sometimes music playing, but it doesn't last long. The elven forests would need a music of their own.
Are you a fan of DAI's Soundtrack (Trevor Morris)? Or did you prefer DAO/2 (Inon Zur) Soundtrack more?

With having listened to the DAI soundtrack available I can without a shadow of a doubt say I prefer it a lot over what was created for DAO and DA2

No clue. My game hardly has any music in it. A bug, i believe.

Wouldn't DA:I's soundtrack be like 7 minutes long? 1-2 actual songs and then a bunch of 10 second clips that play when you first get to an area. I'll take DA:O any day as far as music.

Not even close. I had to burn it to a DVD, since it wouldn't fit on a standard CD.

DA:I's soundtrack is outstanding.

Depends. I like combat and epic tracks more in DAI, but as far as atmospherical and love themes go, I prefer DA2 and DAO. Though, DAI's bard songs are completely outside the competition. They are stunning and it's a real shame they are not in the OST. Also, need more bard songs in some DLC, give me Andraste's Mabari!

I've listened DA:I's main theme to death, whereas I didn't even listen to DA:O's or DA2's soundtrack outside the game.
The soundtracks from DA:O and DA2 were fitting for the games and the vocals from DA:O REALLY give me "origins vibes" so to speak, but DA:I's main theme was just eargasm I wanted to hear even when I wasn't playing the game. And that says enough for me.

I honestly cannot stop listening to DA:I's soundtrack. It is by far their best.
It's better than ME:3, even! And I absolutely loved their music. (I still love the ME:3 soundtrack, don't get me wrong!)

I know this, you have to have done something right if you can't get a song out of your head. I am always humming the theme song to myself even when I'm playing some other game or doing something else entirely. I loved Inon Zur's work but gosh darn it I love this song.

Bard songs in DA:I are also taken out of DA:O, DA:II, and traditional folk songs; they aren't just Trevor Morris' work.
I like the epic songs in DA:I but I miss the soul of DA:O's OST. Every game OST should have a soul, a feeling to it. The Witcher 3 OST has that so far.

I much prefer DA:I soundtrack, not to diminish the soundtracks of the first two games, but I have to say I really *felt* the music in this game over the last two. My favorites have to be the love/romance theme and the song that plays on the way to Skyhold. ![]()

I think its good they try something thematically different. Mostly due to my personal view IRL that tradition is the number one enemy of change and progress.
That said I think all three games had good soundtracks. But none of them really hits that emotional heart-penetrating-stab-of-emotions.
Some examples. Note that I'm not saying these might fit in DA:I exactly as they are. Rather that the same type of emotional uphewal and uniqueness would be much welcome.

The song that plays in Redcliff Castle after you and Dorian get thrown through that time rift gives me chills as does the OST that plays when you fight dragons.

Well, the first time I heard the main theme in the menu I wasn't much impressed. It sounded a bit boring, nothing like the deep, forboding, threatening theme of DAO (Grey Warden theme). Did DA2 actually have something memorable by the way? Whatever...
But now, I simply adore the DAI main theme, and some of its battle tracks as well (against dragons, that one is so pushing, Haven also had a good one).
And I am glad I found this 10 minute long version on youtube ^^ starts so slow, then a ten minute ride across Thedas' mountains, seas, forests and battlefields. Awesome...
But I am the one, or Leliannas song? Also totally cool. And then there is of course the Corvus Corax Version of the Grey Warden Song. Another outstanding piece. Those songs alone are what elevates the Dragon Age franchise ahead of other RPGs IMHO ^^

IMHO, the Grey Warden Song, DA:O main theme, Leliana's Song, I Am the One are what make Dragon Age different from other games... They are what I remember when I think about Dragon Age's music.

What new soundtrack?? i didnt hear much.. I love the game but its a shame for the OST. All the nice visuals/worlds and seldom do you hear the music playing.
Even the ending lacked a grand BG music. (I played the Final Fantasy Theme in youtube while going back to DA:I in PC during the ending party. MAJOR DIFFERENCE!)

Inon Zur for me. The DAO soundtrack contains so many motifs and elements reused throughout the rest of the soundtrack.
There's all the choral elements which sum up the religious themes of the game, the epic fantasy adventure bit, before the music takes a turn for the dark which I feel sums up the Darkspawn well (I think it's used in their theme too). There was honestly a bit in the game where Corypheus appeared and I was half expecting the game to echo the Origins soundtrack and go DUN-DUNDUNDUN. But it never came so I was sad.
Trevor Morris' soundtrack is good but it doesn't make me want to go back and play Inquisition. I only need to hear the start of this music and I want to go back and play Origins all over again. Man what a soundtrack. It brings tears to my eyes and immediately brings up memories of talking to my companions in the camp. So atmospheric.

Have to admit, I'm a fan of all the soundtracks. Listen to them at work.

I like them both, but I think Inon Zur provided much better ambient and character themes. Here, it's just the main theme that sticks out.

I absolutely love DA:I's soundtrack. Whilst DA:O and DA:2 will have special places in my heart, Inquisition's music just feels that much more epic. I could listen to the soundtrack all day
