In other news:

I agree with the writer of the article that Guardians 2 and Thor: Ragnarok seem like the most likely candidates.

It'd be a nine from me. I really want to see how the rest of it plays out when it comes back in March and when it approaches the timeframe of Age of Ultron.

Seriously, If Sony doesn't give Marvel back its property and goes forward with their plans for Amazing Spider Man 3, I'm boycotting it.

Have fun with the boycotting!

As if there would be any doubt.

If Sony thinks of this logically, Not beneficially, There's no way out except by cutting a deal with marvel, And right now. If the amazing spider man 3 flops, And by if i mean when it flops, Marvel takes back Spiderman rights without paying a cent according to what i have read about their contract. Marvel's deal is to give Spiderman movie rights to Sony as long as the movies are successful.

Marvel is really the company to blame in this situation.

They sold the rights to an outside company, and unless they want to rebuy those rights at a higher price than they sold them they're really SOL.

The problem with the movies being considered "successful" relies soly on how much money it makes, and not on the actual quality of the movie. As an example, the recent live action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie was horrendous, but it remained the top grossing movie for a week (or two). Therefore, it can be considered "successful" unless you leverage in it's competition at the time (no idea what movies those were).

I am unaware over the deal with the X-men franchise, but I'm assuming it's similar.

I haven't really researched why did Marvel sell Spiderman in the first place, But i see your point.

As for the success of the movies, I realize that. But the amazing spider man wasn't really a big hit in the boxoffice and Sony realizes that, That's why they're desperately looking for alternatives. My point is, if Sony doesn't think this thoroughly, They might end up with a big fat loss.

They're getting worse than that due to other projects right now...

Unless Marvel repurchases Spiderman/X-men outright I find it unlikely that either will really make an appearance during the MCU's Civil War movie nonsense. If Sony is "smart" (business sense, not comics sense) they will delay any Spiderman project until they're close to losing the license AND after the Civil War movies have released.

This of course, grants further incentives for Marvel to re-purchase the license to their own property (funny how that works) if they want a product that resembles the source material. Sony doesn't care about the "fans", and will not be persuaded by them.

In case you don't already know, They have actually shelved the amazing spider 3 to 2018, And many of their spider-man projects are currently up in the air. And I do realize that they don't care about the lore or the fans. But Marvel can't repurchase the movie rights of these franchises without the approval of the companies that currently has the movies' rights. And as Stan Lee said, They're holding on to them because these franchises can be very successful. And as Stan Lee also said, It's something that concerns marvel and are working really hard on it, But it's up to the lawyers of both companies.

No, I didn't.

I was purely speculating on what would be the best business (ie. usually unethical) practice for Sony .

If it's truly up to the lawyers then I stand by my original statement that Marvel is SOL.

A crossover would be successful, But there're complications. I wouldn't speculate further because i don't have enough info about what really happened between Marvel and Sony. I realize that it's unethical, But if you're into the financial business, You need to be prepared to get your hands dirty. That said, I wouldn't do that if i was Sony. I happen to have the utmost respect for the artistic ingenuity and originality of any content. If i was the head of a big company that happened to have the movie rights for a popular franchise that my company couldn't handle very well, I'd give it to someone else. Same thing Sony did with the Steve Jobs movie. It's really nothing i could make use of, Why not skip all the formalities, Meetings and non-sense and give it back to someone who is actually able to deliver this particular kind of story. Sony couldn't deliver in neither the original Spider-Man Trilogy nor the amazing spider-man franchise.

I've just watched the episode. Can't say I'm surprised. It was exactly what i had in mind, My theory about Skye and her ancestors turned out to be very accurate. Damn, I'm really good at this. Anyways, The episode is very good. I'm very interested to see the Post-Whitehall's Hydra, And I'm much more interested to see the expansion of the Kree/Inhuman story arch. And i hope they keep the level of ambiguity this high in order not to allow me to improvise theories that later turn out to be accurate. I don't have the tiniest clue to what's going to happen next. But, I did guess in S1 that the Clairvoyant was someone who had security clearance a very long time before they had figured it out.

And also, R.I.P Trip. :(

Spiderman < The Amazing Spider Man

Spiderman 2 > The Amazing Spider Man 2

Spiderman 3 was an epic fail though.

Still, All spider-man movies are nowhere near what they might have been. And i certainly hope they cut a deal with Sony and then focus on getting the X-Men back from Fox. Though, From What I've seen, The Inhumans storyline seems to be MUCH more interesting than the X-Men. Still, The X-Men are a fundamental part of the Marvel universe. It'd be nice to have them back. Specially Professor X and Logan.

I'm still waiting for a Hydra villain in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D that lives up to Alexander Pierce and continues the S.H.I.E.L.D civil war. My eyes are on Wolfgang von Strucker.
