What? Come on now, I was complaining about themes, not the entire genre.

Well, He/She didn't really explain why they think comic movies are overdone.

Considering JARVIS is going to become Vision in the movie. It might go that way, but it'd make more sense with Tonys character development to make Ultron himself. It's his Hubris.

Leaving it to JARVIS would take away the impact.

It's the same reason Wolverine had to go back in DOFP. His character development from X-Men to The Wolverine was about taking his past, accepting it, and moving on to better things. Which logically meant he had to be the one to teach that lesson to Xavier. Bringing it around full circle to when the two first met in X-Men.

Yet.... Logan had no part at all during the final confrontation ;)

According to this that is actually the ORB of Agamatto. Not the Eye.

Orb of Agamotto

Eye of Agamotto

Oh...Yeah, is it obvious I don't know alot about Dr. Strange?

My bad.

Well, they weren't exactly being hugely original with their naming conventions in the comic, so its understandable.

*snip*

Hmm solid prediction, you even worked in more those repetitive themes you were talking about earlier, You have figured out the Marvel formula!

Superhero movies are overdone. They lost the impact they had since Dark Knight and Spiderman 2.

Maybe it is for the general public. As a comic book fan I am loving it.  If i can get 3 movies a year like DoFP, GoTG, and TWS I am good. If DC can get around to making another TDK quality movie, even better.

I'd even question the value of Dark Knight myself, movie was insanely long and drawn out.

I was never really into comics at all though so it could just be that as a factor. My favorite was X2 in like 2003 or something? I never really saw a comic movie I liked more than that one. The Dr. Manhattan story portion of Watchmen was pretty interesting also I thought.

DK was important because it had a solid premise and it continued the realistic approach of Batman. Lately, realism has been labeled as 'edgy'. I disagree with this. We get no shortage of bombastic fantasy from Hollywood. So bring on the edgy.

He wasn't really supposed too.

Logans point in the story was to get Xavier off his ass and save the future.

He served that purpose well.

In X-Men he doesn't know who he is and needs Xavier to help mold him into something better,

in X2 he finds out who he is and where his place truly lies,

in X3 he has to put his own desires aside and become a leader,

in The Wolverine he has to learn to accept his mistakes and move on with his life.

All culminating in DOFP where the student has finally become the master and like I said Logan needs to teach Xavier the same things he's had to learn.

His impact was influencing Xavier to get out of his funk, re-open the school, and get Raven to not kill Trask, thus ensuring Brett Ratner never happened.

Wolverine doesn't have to Berserker Barrage all over the place you know. He can do other things.

I wonder what they actually consider edgy though? That's the part that makes me really wonder. This Age of Ultron looked identical to Iron Man 3, uh oh, it's about super heros, but something really bad is going to happen oooohhh scary. Things might not go the way they planned. Yeah right, one side character might be slightly less powerful for 10 seconds or something.

I've seen edgier things in most Disney movies, honestly.

To be fair, I wasn't saying Marvel shouldn't/couldn't repeat themes (the theme of Planet Hulk is very much a theme of trying to make the world safe and causing more harm than good). But when three of your six movies released in a 36 month time frame have the same theme, THAT'S stretching it. A little.

I'd rather take Jurassic World over Star Wars 7...

I say with a Stormtrooper avi...

The irony is not lost on me.

Ew X3.

Yeah I know.

Least I didn't mention X-Men Origins Wolverine.

Personally? They completely defiled Deadpool.

For me, that's about the worst thing you could do to a comic book movie. They took a great concept - Ryan Reynolds as the quippy, zany, insane mercenrary with a heart of... well, not gold. Maybe tabasco sauce?

And then they took a big, steamy dump all over it and made it into a joke of a character. THAT'S why that movie holds such a terrible place in my heart.

I'm not really a much big fan of Deadpool. And the movie seemed to introduce Wolverine finely, His back story and how he started his new life with Xavier.

X3 and Origins where just crappy.

X-3s script was just a mess that didn't even fully explore Dark Phoenix which resulted in a massive half bake story(a complete insult to the dark phoenix arc), the hwole human vs mutant war was poorly done(you know it's sad when DoFP did a better job with this aspect >.<)the deaths where done poorly, the acting was weaker and the final scene with Logan and Jean was just cringeworthy.

Origins, I don't even want to remember that crappy movie.

Just look at the devlpoment process of x-man 3. It was a mess. Fox put a very tight deadline and did not want the dark phoenix plotline truly explored, hence why it was pretty much just a fricken afterthought in the finished product.

Yes, The Phoenix was under-developed, i agree, But the movie had its good moments. Though it had only a few good moments. I'm planing on revisiting the old X-Men movies soon.

Heresy. There are absolutely no good points to X3. Well, aside from the fact that it ended.
