Your in a war for the survival of organic civilization as you know it and you have to make a choice. Do you pick the krogan and gain access to potentially millions of difficult to transport but tough warriors? Or do you pick the salarians? You know, the economic/industrial/scientific powerhouse with tens of thousands of warships and billions of soldiers.
Clearly the correct answer is to pick the third option; retcon everything that is inconvenient to making the krogan look like victims. Retcon the population/power of the salarians/turians to make the choice appear even. Then ignore that this shouldn't even be a choice in the first place because squabbling like this in the face of galactic extinction only serves to undermine the threat of the Reapers. Those Reapers really aren't that dangerous, after all, no one is taking them seriously.
ME3 focuses way too much on wrapping up loose plot thread.

A youtube video not available in my country. So this is what its like to be on the receiving end. Interesting.

I agree that the salarian's are needed more than the krogan since this isn't a war that can be won on the ground and I also agree, I think, with the krogan being made to look like victims (not as bad as the Geth though). That being said I think its important to remember that you don't really cure the genophage for the krogan. You do it because the turians want the krogan and in exchange the turians will offer you support. You may not need the krogan but you definitely need the turians. I'd even argue that they're more important than the salarians, with all respect to the salarian fleet's superior technology. The turians are THE military race of the galaxy.

That's the advantage though of sabotaging the cure, you get everything and it's pretty much guaranteed that no one will find out. Although I guess this is a moot point since Wrex gets a recording of the conversation, somehow.
My main problem though with the Tuchunka arc is that it's not set up for a third option. The previous two games made it clear that it wasn't the genophage that was killing the Krogan, but their own dysfunctions. I think it would have been a stronger conclusion for the Krogan if they themselves adapted the cultural and societal institutions to overcome the genophage (with a few proddings from Shepard, of course).

After he gets the recording though don't you lose those war assets? So you don't get everything.

I agree. Though I'm not sure that would had been feasible in ME3's current setting. Taming the krogan isn't going to happen overnight and since the game starts right during the reaper invasion (a mistake, imo) you'd have to be able to tame them within a very short timeframe. I can't think of a way they could achieve this where it wouldn't seem far-fetched.

Oh ya, for sure. I was saying this from the time frame when you're making the decision. During my first playthrough that was what I had in mind, but I pussied out because I didn't want to shoot Mordin.
I find it unlikely though that Wrex can some how get a hold of that conversation.

It's the Paragon Lost movie. A sniper kills a krogan in one shot ![]()

I suppose you could argue it was his source in STG besides Mordin. Whoever that other salarian is that takes his place if he is dead. Though that doesn't explain how he always has it. I'm not even sure who to blame for it, security wise. The STG or Shepard? The Normandy clearly isn't bug-proof since the shadow broker had feeds to the Normandy cameras. Regardless it still doesn't make much sense how Wrex has the conversation. A better way of doing it would had been to get themselves tested by doctors or something to see if the genophage is still present. Something they honestly should had done in the first place really, though Krogan aren't known for being smart. Unless you're Wrex, apparently.

I figured as much, it did at least tell me the title of the movie. Also note that in that movie a krogan survives getting shot through both his eyes. Not exactly the most consistent, I'd say. Remember the giant collectors? Lol.

I'm pretty sure extensive brain damage (aka headshot) will kill krogan. As far as I know they have only one brain ![]()
Krogans have brains?

Which makes it all more bizarre that the krogan took two headshots that left him blind yet was still talking. Krogan are pretty scary sometimes.
