Other than it supporting pretty much everything that shouldn't be supported?
That says very little about anything.

I wouldn't be surprised if BioWare took some cues from CDPR, as BioWare's romance scenes in ME2, ME3, and especially DA2 were beyond horrible.
I must have picked the right romances because nothing I saw was. I'm also not sure what makes The Witcher 2's romance scenes professional.
Other than it supporting pretty much everything that shouldn't be supported?
Excuse me?
You mean that buying a game as a present for an adult guy/gal someone would hesitate because of the quote about bouncing ******? In the era when pop stars sing whole songs about their asses?
Other than it supporting pretty much everything that shouldn't be supported?
GTA doesn't support anything, that's like saying Saints Row support gang violence
LOLNO, TW2 was a fantastic game but just no. Don't make me laugh.
You are free to disagree, but it's rather apparent BioWare is taking cues from The Witcher 2. Just within the last three years, the amount of nudity in video games has skyrocketed since TW2 was released. Whether you thought it was done tastefully or not, virtually every major studio or publisher is following suit.

If we see horrible animated sex scenes like in TW2 or all females always being naked in the sack but Geralt always having his magical trousers on, then sure.
The Witcher 2 is probably the crowning example of a game, albeit controversial to some, that handled sex scenes really professionally.
I'm going to have to disagree with you. The parts of that game that I played made me think that the nudity was pretty gratuitous and actually was a factor in deciding not to play the whole game. It didn't feel professional. It felt a bit immature to me.
Of course, that's just my opinion. I'm really only making the point to demonstrate that it's another example of how a person's perspective can totally change their view on that game.

Heavy Rain was released in 2010 and had nudity. Correlation isn't causation. What I will agree with is The Witcher 2 certainly helped it become more acceptable, as most of these games have.
and that's a bouncing gina
The sex scenes in the Witcher 2 was so poorly directed and awkwardly edited that it looked like one of those pornographic machinimas made by a bunch of amateurs. They might as well have just cut to black and have the awkward moaning audio roll in the background, to at least make it less unintentionally hilarious.. as it was.
That says very little about anything.
I know. Don't want to start a flame war.
But BioWare did show genitals in ME3...
Banshee don't count ![]()

Horrible? The awkward romance between Hawke and Merrill or even Isabela perhaps? ME2 and ME3's depictions were comical compared to how ME1 handled romance. Who takes a shower with their underwear on?
The reason I stated The Witcher 2's romances were professional is because they more or less provide you what you'd expect in a Hollywood film, without it showing everything and leaving some aspects to the imagination.
Banshee don't count
Semi-dead possessed Asari Ardat-Yakshi are people too!
I've seen better sex from bad hentai then TW2 sex scenes.

Actually I would compare TW2 more to HBO than Hollywood films, most of which show brief nudity if at all.
ME1 handled this perfectly, but I would not object to a more 'mature' (more revealing) version of that. ME2 and 3 were giant steps back, and no DA game has handled it particularly well (Izzy wearing more clothes after sex is pretty damn funny).
Those dialogue peices really make me uncomfortable, bloody hell
same.
Just like to add that I find it amusing that in 2014, Americans are still this sensitive to sex and nudity
Its a game where you murder people violently.
Yet some dirty bed talk is what "disturbs" people.
(I find that disturbing btw)
how about you stop mocking people for having sexual boundaries different than yours and being uncomfortable with certain things?

What was awkward about the Isabela scene? It fit the romance perfectly. I also didn't do the Traynor romance so (fortunately) I've never seen the shower underwear thing. We can all agree that you either show nudity when appropriate or you skip over the timeframe where someone's supposed to be nude. ugh. The Tali "sex" scenes in 2 and 3 were well-done, mostly because it left it entirely to the imagination and just included the intimate discussions pre and post. The Liara ones were also good.
So I guess I did pick the right ones, heh.
As for professionally, I guess? They weren't particularly tasteful so I suppose I don't really hold them up as something to emulate.
....all females always being naked in the sack but Geralt always having his magical trousers on...
While it's a slight exaggeration, this is really what clinched it for me. If the most that you see from a male character is the briefest hint of upper side hip and you see everything except for internal organs for a female, it's not really the type of approach that I find to be 'professional'.
If we see horrible animated sex scenes like in TW2 or all females always being naked in the sack but Geralt always having his magical trousers on, then sure.
We already know females are going to be naked. It seems male's buttocks will at least be exposed. Who knows about the animated sex scenes?

Nudity in a brothel? Perhaps. Any nudity that had to deal with the main story, such as Triss and the Rose of Remembrance, or Ves were actually executed quite well. In all honesty though, you missed out on a great game on a feature that doesn't even define it.

If I'm not mistaken, Heavy Rain was a PS3-exclusive and didn't have the critical acclaim or success that The Witcher 2 had. Even if it did, my point is post-TW2 games have had a lot more nudity than pre-TW2, like your example.

As in Fable? Definitely not. That would have been worse.

Or using a private, indoor hot tub with your SO with underwear on, for that matter?
Merrill romance definitely had some cringeworthy lines, and that cringeworthy one-piece that looked like a Carnivale outfit.
Can't really say much about TW2, though, never made it that far. Combat mechanics in 1 on pc just did not work for me - haven't played the series since getting to that first town.
