FB Dagger (i believe, map with huge radar dishes), Human Engineer. M15 Vindicator, M3 Predator.

You'll only get Collectors in the factions if you select Collectors. Unfortunate, IMO, but that's the way it is.
My first Plat game was pretty awesome. I was running with a really competent group of people I'd friended a while back, and who played Platinum semi-frequently. I brought along a Talon GI, it was smooth and all went well. Especially for a Plat Geth game.
There aren't any collector unit in Reapers / Geth / Cerberus plat games.
My first plat game was either a Giant or a Rio box of shame camping, I'm not sure.

My first Platinum game was the very first ME3MP game I ever played, due to the game's stupid default setting of Platinum when you Quick Match search. I believe I was playing the Human Vanguard (Novaguard), and I quickly realized I was in way over my head and quit that match.
My first Platinum game that I chose on purpose was as the Asari Huntress. Some guys I had been playing Gold with must've thought I was good enough (hahah! those idiots! 
) and dragged my sorry butt through a Platinum game. It was on Jade and I'm pretty sure the enemy was Reapers, because I remember lots and lots of Banshees. I stood in the back using Tactical Cloak / Dark Channel along with my super sweet level 1 Indra (my only Ultra-Rare at the time). I may even have Cloaked and done a few objectives. Woot!

inb4 Asari Huntress is a crutch. 
We got escort/devices/devices in Glacier (normal) and the cloak helped a lot with the latter two objective waves. There were so many banshees that I got grabbed twice. Even one banshee is enough to block a doorway or a hallway. It's ridiculous.
Reapers with the Justicar and Hurricane III and a very very long time ago.
Fairly memorable as after spending months in Bronze and Silver I was just venturing into Gold and managed to get involved with some very good players who after giving me a few days in regular Gold dragged me into Platinum on a daily basis afterwards.

There used to be a guy/girl around here who was really good with sexual innuendo. I forgot the name.
Mine was a plat "duo" with a friend after just moving up to gold games. All my time playing silver paid off.
Edit - Not strictly true. I was once searching for a bronze lobby early on, and landed in a plat lobby with some other n00bs and decided to go for it. We didn't last a minute.

First time playing Platinum was awesome. It was the first day of the DLC and I had saved up a lot of credits so I could get all the new characters and weapons immediately. I hosted and put the game to U/U/P and got Giant and Cerberus (haven't played that combination much since then *cough*) and I took my Shadow equipped for full melee damage and Shadow Strike, didn't even use my weapon at all even though it was the insanely OP Paladin pistol!
Salmon didn't even put on any equipment for the match because he was being pessimistic and kept saying things like "we'll never make it" and then kept committing suicide every now and then just because he thought it would be better to fail sooner rather than later. Our other two friends weren't really that good players so they kept dropping and bleeding out a lot.
I basically had to solo the entire match with my Shadow and I used Shadow Strike on everything! I had so much fun with that character and just kept laughing and singing all the way to our full extraction.
If I recall correctly the whole match took us about 60-70 minutes to finish (if only I would have known about the GI GPS back then!).
We need to play together more.

It's used more ironically than unironically now but yes, it still exists and still means what you think it means.
my first platinum was a pug a couple months ago.
got condor collectors. i was using a salarian infiltrator with talon.
by wave 11 i was out of ops packs & got dropped by a prime in the ez with about 1/2 sec left.

My very first Platinum was with a no-equipment Claymore Novaguard on Jade versus Collectors. I searched for Silver, but got this instead. Needless to say, I got wrecked. It was quite amusing and very memorable, really.
A Platinum condom is probably too late.
Fury with a harrier, on Dagger Hazard against something I don't recall. The team was very nice and supportive and said they could carry me when they switched from gold to platinum. I was hesitant but they were being nice, so I went along and everything went fine, I even did better than I thought. I kept playing with those guys for over a year, although playing situations changed a lot.
