I'm looking for a new monitor for my PC that should be suitable for gaming. I've done some web research and the results are so confusing that I don't know where I stand. Perhaps someone here can advise me.
Parameters:
Size: 30 inch and up
Resolution: 2560 x 1600 (preferable) or 2560 x 1440 (acceptable because these tend to be drastically less expensive)
Price range: up to €1000
The thing is, I hear so widely conflicting reports about almost every candidate. One is said to lose contrast in the corners, the other deemed unsuitable for gaming by one person and perfect by the next one. I guess response time isn't too much of an issue for the kind of games I play but I don't know. I would prefer a glossy surface, that's rarely mentioned in the few reviews I've found, but it's not critical.
I'd like to hear some recommendations. I have a few candidates I won't mention as yet because I don't want to create bias.
