The problem I had was that the daupdater was not installed as a service.

To fix this, I had to use the file InstallUtil.exe, which was located at
C:\\Windows\\Microsoft.NET\\Framework64\\v4.0.20506 on my computer.

If you have 32bit version, just change Framework64 to Framework and then look for the latest v# in that folder.

Then you click the start menu, click run, and type cmd

When the command prompt appears, type "cd C:\\Windows\\Microsoft.NET\\Framework64\\v4.0.20506" without the quotes, and change the exact path to the one where you found the file. Then type InstallUtil.exe "G:\\Games\\Dragon Age\\bin_ship\\daupdatersvc.service.exe" with those quotation marks, and change that path to where ever you installed the game.

Now it should be installed as a service, so next you need to start the service.

Go to Control Panel then Administrative Tools, and open Services

Find Dragon Age Origins Updater in the list, and right click on it and click properties
Change the pulldown menu that says Manual to Automatic, so it will start when you start windows.
Then click okay, and restart your computer. It should be working after that, and your game should see all the DLC.

You can also right click on it and click start, to start the service without rebooting, but that gave me an error the first time. It worked the second time I clicked it though.

Hope this helps other people. I'm using Windows 7 x64 and I have the digital deluxe edition of the game.

The forum added extra slashes to my post! Every double slash should just be one slash!

BTW, if you leave it on manual, it will start up when DAO starts and shut down when DAO exits. That way it's not eating resources when you're not running DAO.

Thanks so much for this solution. I've been struggling with customer support for a month to find out what was wrong. I tried this because it seemed like the cause of the issues I was having and it fixed everything up.

Thanks so much again.

I have a problem with this solution...

When I type [InstallUtil.exe "G:\\\\Games\\\\Dragon Age\\\\bin_ship\\\\daupdatersvc.service.exe"] it relies "Access to path 'C:\\Windows\\Microsoft.Net\\Framework64\\v.2.0.50727\\InstallUtil.InstallLog' Denied"
