Earlier this month Xbox boss Phil Spencer announced that the Xbox One would be getting a screenshot feature, but he's now clarified that it won't be ready until 2015.
"As we come back into the new year, we'll see new stuff, and screenshots is on the list," Spencer told IGN.
Apparently getting screenshots is more complex than just grabbing a frame of video. "It's a little more technically challenging than I thought," Spencer said. "Two weeks ago, they think they've found a good solution for screenshots. They're working on it. They know people want it. The team has a path to getting it done, and now it's just prioritising."
He also noted that Microsoft is working on reducing install times on the console.
I really find this humorous. Something as simple as taking a screenshot can't be done until next year, but recording video and uploading it to a social media site like Facebook is possible today on X1. I guess it's a matter of priorities, but this is something PC's have been able to do for a long time and the PS4 has been able to do it since launch.
