I have like 5000 in this alone. If I keep playing multiplayer, will my assets be so huge I don't have to do any side missions?
What is the highest war assets achieved and does it have any effect on ending? Will anything change if I had 15000 war assets?

Max Assets that game recognizes (with Extended Cut) is 4000, after that all is futile.

Don't know what the highest number that can be reached through multiplayer.
You still get the same endings with 15 000 as someone with 3100.
Most times when I reach 3200, I quit collecting assets and do Chronos and head to Earth.

No,there's no difference. You'll get the exact same ending as someone with 3100 (and even 1700 but lets not get into that),unless there's a super secret ending with a super awesome Priority:Earth that's completely locked and hidden in the game files and available only if you have 1 mil. war assets that noone has unlocked yet.
Plus,if you want to nerf your war assets,you can always reduce them via the coalested.bin (misspelled). I reduced mine from 780 to 250.

I wonder if I can reduce this asset in the coalesced.bin. I fear it may be server side due to it being connected to the MP.

Last time I played I got 11300 and change just from MP alone. I had well over 15000 by the end of the game.
It doesn't make any difference once you reach a certain amount as stated above.

I haven't played ME3SP in a while, but I'm always curious to see how many War Assets do I have. Also, pretty lazy, as I don't have savegames 
Is there any way to know them out of your N7 score? Mine is 1290.
