Doing missions and grinding is cool but give the option to explore the world. To find your own random adventures in a world that changes and challenges you around every turn. Please add every option you have in single player, the freedom, the customized castle, etc. I'd hate to play a MP game limited to just area's. If the single player game is vast and open the MP should be even more so. There is no custom face editor. I can understand class based characters and DLC for more class types but please don't limit the face option. Imagine your MP player in the single player game a followers, imagine MP as a vast world of random and unknown terrors with rewards for those that explorer the challenging unknown. See what I'm saying. Why limit yourself. Make this an evolving game like GTA V. This game has greatness and would like to see it manifest it's true strength. Updates to create thing like this would be great and keep players coming back. Either way it will be a great game. Cheers!

Dragon Age isn't an MMO just yet.  Be happy with the dungeon crawling MP that they've added.

MP will not be "more" than solo, because Dragon Age franchise are designed as solo RPG.

The multiplayer is just a bonus and no tied to the solo part.

If you want the multiplayer to be more than the solo part it self, i hope you are ready to pays dozen and dozen of millions of dollars... AAA games don't come cheap.

I wonder if the DA franchise will eventually be turned in to a mmo?

I would hope not. That said, they are running a business, so if it makes financial sense to do so, they just might.

I hope it doesn't get turned into an MMO.  You lose story when that happens.  Well, let me clarify...actual good story.

I feel that if DA is ever turned into an MMORPG then it will be based during a previoous Age in the past much like TES did recently. I do not wish for it to be done, but at some point I believe it will be.

I really like the formula DA:I is using. Connect players only for the stuff that matters most, small group PvE on dungeons. Then let the SP content work as true SP, with good graphics and without latency. What MMOs usually do is keeping the players connected all the time, even during the SP stuff, which results in bad graphics and huge latency, which in turn tends to affect the gameplay really badly, specially in the sphere of real-time-combat elements.

Yeah OP must not know what this mode is. Go check ME3 MP to get an idea. This isn't a "MMO Campaign co-op" mode.

While I am highly anticipating this MP mode, I can see OP's desire as valid.  He is not asking for an MMO... I truly hope that doesn not happen with this IP.  BUT, something on the muh smaller scale of GTA V, maybe more similar to Red Dead Redemption with a large open world with simultaneous events happening (10-30 players size?) is a target that publishers are missing the point on.  A more focused, intimate open world, one where you not only crawl into dungeons solo but with groups made on the fly.

A game where overland battles are just as likely to have a stranger help as they are to be hostile interference, but not too large that they can get away without recourse! (posse up, AI mage/templar heat).  Think a fantasy rpg with the scope of you level up red dead redemptions' multiplayer world.  Not exactly the same of course, tthere are lessons to be leared, but its an unexplored type of game.

honestly.  I'm gonna be that guy for a moment.  GTA V sucks and the story suffers for what it is.  It's more random grind if you want to keep it going or play multi-player than anything.

I'd rather not have that in my DA games. AT least not at this point.  Let the new tools grow a bit first and developers see what they can really do and then maybe we'll get something interesting.

That wouldn't be an entirely terrible idea.  Something like the 4th Blight could work...or maybe the Storm Age Exalted Marches, so Qunari characters could be included.

But my first preference would be for Dragon Age to remain a character and story led RPG.

That's not how this works.

This^

This is basically setup as a dungeon crawler ala Diablo (to some extent) but in third person.
They did a great job! I appreciate how it is and where it's going. So I vote No to OP's idea.

No? Why? Because they would literally have to rewrite a lot of stuff to make it to that extreme. It's not just as simple as opening up the map and that's it. There's a lot more technicality involved. I rather they focus on the upcoming classes, maps, weapons and campaign DLC's. You are basically asking them to write all that off and rebuild literally a new mp game in open world setting.

However, they (Bioware) have mentioned in several occasions that they have tried tinkering with coop campaign but just couldn't nail it yet. (You can google this for more knowledge, even a female YouTuber, I forget her name goes into a indepth about it where the Devs are responding to this coop question in a live Q&A stream)

So it's in the works as far as (theorizing & concepts) for probably a future spinoff, who knows. But this title... No.

While I know that a fully integrated co-op campaign would be out of the scope of what DA:I is capable of, I would love for a future DAMP DLC to add in larger, seamless play spaces; even something as 'small' as the beginning area around Haven would be amazing.

Maybe make a new game type based around defense:

Venotari/Red Templars/Demons are assaulting the Inquisition forces at Haven. You and your team work your way through the forest, eliminating faction specific siege equipment, and then move on to eliminate enemy forces assailing the walls, before entering the main courtyard to eliminate the enemy commander leading the assault.
