Does anyone know if there will be a tool-box? or at least a modding option? one of the great things in DAO is the Mods.. although i do appreciate all the hard work from the developers ,an extensive array of mods have made the games (DAO and DA2) much more enjoyable and dare i say, complete? so,anyone?,speak up please...

No . They said the engines is the hardest to mods , and that they won't be making any Toolset for it either .

There's gonna be a rush to figure it out as soon as the game comes out. I wouldn't rule out mods.

Even though Bioware stated that Frostbite 3 is hard to mod, I believe that modders nowadays are quite resourceful and will find a way.

*Sigh* I don't know why the same question pops up again and again, when Bioware already made a clear statement about the matter.

Thanks for the link.
Well this line is interesting; "Dragon Age lead writer David Gaider revealed that the upcoming release probably won’t have a mod override folder like fans saw in the first two installments of the series."
Ok, so it could be there..., (there's a plausible way) .

Probably one of two things
1) People don't use the search function
2) People are praying fervently that the situation is magically reverse

To be fair the question has been hanging around for over 6 months and is constantly re-asked at least once a fortnight without anyone taking the five minutes to do a quick check and read; the same thing applies to people asking about save imports. You can understand why people would be quiet bored/offput by the question by now.

You're welcome.
I got to say that If a dev would give an absolute "no" for an answer, that would be bad marketing. The game isn't out yet and hope is another way to sell. They're adding lots of features: massive open areas, 4 races to choose from, greater armor and weapon customization with crafting, modifiable fortress, the online Keep, multiplayer, etc. This is all on top of the effort it already took to adapt Frostbite 3 to their design needs.
Then there's future DLC packs for either single player and multiplayer, which are important ways to maximize profit and facilitate future projects. This is all to say that getting even an override folder to a notoriously difficult engine for modding, should be at the end of their priority list.

From that perspective I wholly agree.

Yup, probably is one of the largest projects of Bioware so I foresee a good amount of content (DLCs
) ... and as you say the modding at the bottom of the prority list. Hmm, well just only wait and see what happens in the end.

I would really, really love to see some modding... err... love. I'm just setting my expectations at a realistic level. ![]()

It isn't up to BioWare, it's up to EA to release modding tools for the Frostbite engine. They've been saying no for years, and I doubt they are going to budge on the matter:
http://gamerant.com/...-modding-tools/
“Because if you look at the Frostbite engine, and how complex it is, it’s going to be very difficult for people to mod the game, because of the nature of the set up of levels, of the destruction and all those things… it’s quite tricky. So we think it’s going to be too big of a challenge for people to make a mod.”
--EA’s Patrick Soderlund, executive VP for Electronic Arts.
Fans will find a way with to have some mods with time, but BioWare can't help them with a toolkit and EA doesn't seem inclined to release one.

I'm on that wagon too, this time the textures resolution don't seem an issue, but I would love more designs.

Very sad to know.
In EA there is someone very very... you know... perhaps I should say just stupid...
Cutting out the modding community in a game like this, is some sort of suicide. Im not blaming bioware for had gone under EA but... i really don't know what to say, if this is the real situation, is just a too ridiculous and unbelievable to belive...
What a waste of opportunity and fun for everyone ...

You mean, "What a waste of opportunity and fun for PC gamers." The majority of the time, console players don't have access to those mods. They seem to love the games as much as PC gamers do, so I think you're overstating this a bit.
<---PC gamer, because I prefer mouse/keyboard over a controller. I'm not worried about a lack of mods myself, but to each their own.

I'm not a big defender of EA by any measn, but I'm not sure this is fair.
The Frostbite engine they are using is very, very powerful but it wasn't designed by those DICE fella's with amatuer modding as an design objective.
Its not that BioWare don't want people to mod the game, but providing them the tools to do so would be a sizeable and expensive venture for them.

Based on past (non-Bioware) games without mod support, I suspect that things like changing textures will be doable, even if it involves using an external program like TexMod. Much beyond thta is likely a no-go though.

Yep that's a little problem, but I think you (NukeZen) would have to look further, I mean, it's probably more a thing of MS and Sony than EA itself.

Yeah it's EA's baby but what you said before..., who could be more interested in taking away any kind of platform discrimination?.
Given that the new generation consoles are not enough strong against an "average PC"...., you can push the publishers...
PS: where's the last Natashina's post?

Like i said, im not blaming bioware, for nothing. The lack of moddend content on consoles, for example, is just one of the reasons i don't like that kind of platform. And Razyx, why are you talking about MS and Sony? Frostbite 3 has something to do with them? Is not sarcasm, i really don't know...

It's in the post above, I was replying to Natashina's post (that has disappeared)
I should add to the post that could be "Platform discrimination", you know we are talking about millions in profit for the companies...

I'll say it here only once: to me this generation of consoles of new generation is a crap of unprecedented proportions. Personally I consider it a pure scam perpetrated to the detriment of the consumers. A "new generation" that have nothing new, not even the hardware, since a lot of pc platform of middle level right now, are still better than the hardware mounted on the 2 little boxes.
But this is my and only mine opinion, and it's absolutely not an attack on who like the that kind of platform.
