The Normandy would not be the same without an attractive girl next to the Galactic Map.

It will be a Vorcha in the next game.

An aria-shiala-liara sandwich.

Change Aria for Tevos and I can die a happy man.

Hell, all the asari sandwich!

I'd forgotten Tevos.

I wish they'd explored more the asari trait of changing how they look for each species, that could have been interesting.

Heck the Vorcha probably make a better shadow broker than smurfette. Still, Traynor is better looking than the asari

Asari appear to be able to do some form of mind manipulation which makes each species see them in a way that is attractive to them.
This is especially shown in me2 in aethyta's bar - the stag party and speaking to aethyta sober/drunk.

Too bad we can't see through the eyes of a Turian, Krogan or any other species. I would be curious how different they look from what is shown in the games

Liara's picture in Shepard's cabin being the same as Liara in person? Seeing asari on videos looking nothing different then they are when you meet them in flesh?

If memory serves, those guys at stag party all describe characteristics that are common to asari, but that each of them finds attractive personally. Somebody feel free to prove me wrong with yt video and we'll take it from there. As for that drink... I think it's an extreme case of "rose tainted glasses". In other words, it's the drink, not the asari. Too bad we can't prove that with being able to look at female squadmates, but there you go.

Lol you're kidding right? There's a very real, very logical explanation for that which DOESN'T involve mind-control. They call it pareidolia. We're all programed to see traits we associate with our kind. Its natural.

Coincidentally the salarain in the group doesn't even find her attractive until pressured to keep examining her until he picks up something he likes.

I rarely played human characters in multiplayer and I can tell you the Asari look no different. There is no mind control. Different species are programed to pick up different traits. We look for human-relatable traits while passively overlooking all the alien ones. We only look for our similarities, its how we're programmed as species. The same is true for the other races. There could be distinctly turian/salarian qualities the Asari have that are subtle and only they know to look for them and pick them up. Some humans might say "oh the tentacles are just like combed back hair!" where a turian would say "its clearly a turian fringe!" Different perspectives based on species designed to look for different things.

When sleeping with an asari they apparently do some type of mind meld. What do you think they do when they are in your mind?

If you were really that interested in discussing the asari you whould know that dominating/rewritting another mind cannot be done by a normal asari.

That still wouldn't apply to the bar situation. The only Asari that can passively influence your thoughts are the ardat yakshi. Which isn't a fair bases to claim ALL Asari have this passive mind-control ability. If the dancer was in his lap embracing eternity, yeah, I can see there being some influence. She was just dancing on the table, though.

Though I'm not sure I would even say normal asari had mind-control during the melding. I suppose it depends on how strict you are on the term 'control'. They can share memories or take them but that doesn't mean they can indoctrinate you. Even if she was embracing eternity with the Salarian and he suddenly becomes more willing to see her in an attractive light I don't know if I'd say its because shes controlling his mind to make him see her as attractive or just because shes doing the sex with him and making him feel great. Pleasure can do wonders to change your perspective on things.

For some reason I recall that they released some form of pheremones that did it. Now, bear in mind I am getting old and it may have been someone's headcanon..

She probably done... whatever it is they do... to get more tips.

Human: Whatever. We are having a bachelor party.

Salarian: I see not point in this.

Turian: I am just here for the drinks.

(a minute after watching the asari wave her arms)

Human: Uh-huh... take a look at THAT, man. Everybody likes the asari. Everybody.

Salarian: But we... my word, she is very... limber. But... I don't... she is a lovely shade of blue.

(another minute later)

Human: Were doing shots out of her belly button, now.

Salarian: I can understand why I like asari and find them attractive.

Turains: That is why asari look like us.

Me: ... well, that escalated quickly.

(30 minutes later)

Salarian: Maybe just one more dance.

I think was joke dialogue and wasn't meant to be taken as canon. It's just a couple of characters at a bachelor party speculating.

It's easily debunked. If the Asari were doing some sort of mental shape shifting, their true forms would be revealed on newscasts, film, or photographs viewed by people who had never met that Asari. Shepard is able to view vid footage of Asari he or she has never met, and they don't look any different. Also the sign for Chora's Den is a silhouette of an Asari dancer and everything looks how it should. If the Asari were appearing differently to different species, that sign wouldn't make sense to anyone who was non-human. Non-Asari doctors and surgeons(like Chakwas or Michel) are able to treat Asari patients as well, which wouldn't be the case if they weren't appearing in their true forms. And finally, Liara is able to wear armor designed for human females during the events of Mass Effect 1. Arguably that is also the case in Mass Effect 3, since two of the armor designs she can wear have an Alliance logo on them.

I always interpreted what they said as Asari having body parts that appeal to the species. Humans because they all like like C plus, 20 something woman, Turians because the head thing looks like the female Turian frills, and Salarians because they have an appealing body color.

I said it in another thread, Aethyta was feeding those guys hanar mindfish shots all night. They saw what they wanted to see.
