Bow strings and floating weapons?

I have been watching the character customization and gameplay episodes and noticed bows still have no strings attached and character weapons still float on their backs. I'm in no way shape or form a graphics ****** but the fact that this game is on next generation and the developers either can't be bothered or find it difficult to show a bow with a string attached while firing an arrow seems very lame.

*Spoiler Alert*

Having completed Dragon Age 2 yesterday and watching Meridith jump around like a jedi with a light sabre and experiencing a rushed and poor game generally - who in their right mind at Bioware allowed this game to pass is beyond me.

Dragon Age Origins set the bar or Bioware set the bar and my impression is most people want more of this with improvements that are required where needed. I only want the best for this new Dragon Age 3 and look forward to playing eventually and being able to experience 'a next gen feeling with noticeable changes' not just graphics.

Look again, all bows have strings and quivers. As for daggers being on someones back, it's a design decision, so apparently, you can see exactly what you're wielding when switching characters.

There actually are bow strings.

The weapons are still floating on the back because in most games where it doesn't float there tend to be way less weapons/weapon types or it is easier because there is no or little different types of armor. Floating is used to minimize clipping which is way too costly to deal with if there are lots of different armor and weapons. It has got absolutely nothing to do with next gen. Next gen doesn't make clipping disappear.

Ok I've just watched an E3 demo showing close footage of party member firing a bow with string attached, so I stand corrected. Also I appreciate comments regarding clipping etc and will reserve further judgement of game until after I have at least played a few hours of it.

I'm looking forward to this as you all are I'm sure :)

A reasonable polite response that actually takes new information into consideration... on a game forum... +1 faith in humanity!  :D

Good point. You have every right to be a sceptical consumer given your most recent experience with this franchise's latest product. Glad the concern you noted is taken care of. (reportedly)

For some reason, I read that in Borat's voice.
