How do we explain Zevran's accent then? Spain has fish markets and great fish soup.
I think that was more Curry's acting, or perhaps BioWare hadn't fully locked it down back then. For me Rivain has always clearly equalled Spain, although not entirely analagous (Qunari issue being similar to the Moors), while Antiva is more Italian (very similar political structure to the Venetian city state, the names and with later characters like Josie the accent is more similar). It's definitely not as defined in Origins - I'm replaying at the moment and just picked up Antonio Banderas Zev.
Actually I've always wondered why Isabela had a more Ferelden/Marcher accent - she was from Rivain and spent a good part of her life in Antiva. Now if she had a lady equivalent of Zev's accent... *eyes glaze over*
I have not been lurking proper as I should be (keep stalking my own emails waiting for the rp that my KISA prototype is in instead) so I apologize if this has been brought up and that this is also a very small and very and I mean VERY stupid thing to ask about but, would anyone really prefer the KISA to be more no nonsense type of person or have a bit of a sense of humor to them? (Yes like i said stupid thing to ask) Personally I prefer it if LIs have some kind of humor to them so I would really dig having a KISA with a very dry sense of humor.
Hmm, I don't see why not. I play most of my PCs as KISA types and they have a witty, charming sense of humour. IMO a KISA would never be so sarcastic as to hurt someone's feelings, such as Morrigan's biting snark in Origins for example. Nor would they have especially juvenile or childish toilet humour, or be overly crude like say Isabela. Dry humour could definitely work.
