I wasn't sure if that would have been a spoiler so didn't want to write his name. But we aren't in an MK forum and he isn't really popular so no big deal. That said who is he with? Somehow I missed this.

There was a rumor that he and a Tanya were a thing

Ugh. Tanya. I read Jennifer Hale is her voice actress so if that's true maybe I can forgive this. Even then I hope she is a beard lol

I was pretty happy with the voice acting this time. The writing still is what it is but I really enjoyed they story.

In regards to the topic I hope we get a KISA in ME4 as who knows when the next DA will come out. I have abandoned DAI out of boredom and hating all romance options but woukd play again if someone figures out a compelling Cullen bi mod.

A KISA isn't possible in Mass Effect according to some on this thread. Any ideas to prove them wrong?

Who said a KISA isn't possible in ME?

I don't remember who specifically, but I remember there was a discussion about it that lasted a couple pages.

I don't remember that. In fact, haven't most people in the thread said that Kaiden is the closest that we've ever gotten to a m/m KISA?

There was three 'sides' before the topic switched to another Dorian argument.

One was Kaidan was the closest we got but not quite like you said.

Another was that Steve is a KISA since he is a soldier and even has a noble steed.

The other was there wasn't any.

But it doesn't really matter. I was mainly curious about any ideas Sebastian had on a KISA in Mass Effect.

Maybe they could land on a planet that is underdeveloped and end up with a companion new to space travel - I don't know. In ME the humans were considered behind the times so there could be any number of cultures we haven't interacted with yet.

I think what most want in regards to the KISA are the personality traits associated with them rather than a literal knight. In ME this could be your by the book Paragon-only companion. If it follows most of the KISA options that were for women then he should also be a virgin and romantic only when it comes to you, monogamous, and willing to put his life on the line for you if it came to it. There also might be a mechanic to fix something in his life.

This is a really dumb example, but like when Piers decided to stay in the flooding research facility in Resident Evil 6 so Chris would live. piers also sent an email to Chris's sister Claire asking if she had any pictures of Chris that he could have which could be viewed as sweet but awkward. He also had to deal with Chris' alcoholism and was very much about following the rules and being the better person.

I did a little digging to read about him.  He seems pretty cool.  Plus he's attractive, so that's always a bonus.

I like him.  I'll probably pick this up this week now.

iMxGPqf.png

The revelation of his sexuality seems kind of subtle from what I saw online.  Raiden says that self-loathing has always been one of his weaknesses and then tells him to go to the Shaolin.  Jin responds by turning away and saying that they'll never accept him because.......  Raiden interrupts and says that they care only for the strength of his heart (or something to that effect) and not who his heart longs for.

He also seems to be a reformed bad guy who now works for good.  I like him!

...WHHHHAAAT!?

Wait, WHAT!?

I think I heard that line when I was going through some playthroughs, but I just dismissed it as "eh, okay, they probably don't approve of some girl, big deal." and I never looked further into it.

****, I'm gonna need to see the proof first hand.

EDIT; Not the receipt I found, but this was amusing...

Spoiler

My husband grabbed MK after talking to him about the thread.  We both suck at fighting games, and have mild carpal tunnel, but we love having fun together.  He was thinking about it, but you guys sealed the deal.  :D

I'm thinking of getting it, but I'm not as into fighting games as I was used to. Maybe I'll get it? I don't know. While it's really subtle and just a couple of lines, I'm hoping to see some of that aspect from Kung Jin in later games. Perhaps in a similar as the whole Liu Kang/Kitana thing, but eh. An Edenian knight as Kitana's expy similar to how Kung Jin is to Kung Lao? Who knows? Baby steps, but they're going in a direction I'm liking.

ANYWAY...

Back onto the whole knight thing...

Well, Bioware has confirmed that there are at least two new races in the next Mass Effect game. So one might have a feudal system of government, letting there be kISAs.

I would really like to have a knightly sort of male LI in the ME universe. Kaiden fits the moral aspects of archetype pretty well, and he's still my favorite LI of all time. If we could have one very similar but with a more hands on approach to combat (like a Vanguard as opposed to a Sentinel)? That would be perfect for me.

Ooh, space faring feudalism.  Is it bad that I suddenly want to see a floating castle in the clouds, with towers and the whole deal?  In DA or in ME, I'm not picky.  And no, Cory dragging up the ruins of the Temple of Sacred Ashes into the sky doesn't quite count.   :P

I've been doing this LP for ME3 in another thread, and I have a lot of catching up to do without thread spamming.  In the meantime, I've started up a second character going back to ME1.  She's the first "Natashina" Shepard I've created, and yes, she's a sniper.  These days I play mainly sniper/archers or caster-types.   Well, excluding my warrior that was directly inspired by you guys.

After the months in this thread, I'm going to let Kaidan live and try out the romance.  I figure that if he's a good representation of a KISA I ought to see the romance for myself.   It's not easy though, since I'm a Garrus gal.  Playing the ME series has been giving me a lot of ideas on what I'd love to see in the DA series (such as having non-standard game over screens.)  I'm hoping this will spark some more ideas.    :)

Sorry this is on a female Shepard, but I can't get over how goofy Sheploo's run animation looks.  Especially in ME2.  An Infiltrator doesn't stomp around like a gorilla.  And while I like Liara, I could never call her a KISA, so this is going to be from a f/m pairing.

Once I'm done with this second character and my LP, I'll be going back to DA:I.  I might continue my elf, or restart my mage that was romancing Cullen.  Might as well keep in the KISA spirit before I continue my elf and break her heart thanks to Solas.  For my poor mage, I accidentally killed off the last of the Wardens through bad War Table choices.  I've got the best outcomes written down in order to prevent that, but it might be time to dig up a much older save file.

Spectres are basically knights in space. They aren't required to follow rules because BioWare was really keen on the Jack Bauer thing back then, but there is nothing stopping one sticking to a shiny armour morality if they were so inclined.

they have sexuality and courtship, they just can't sustain the emotions and their breeding patterns make the vast majority of salarian men unlikely to ever reproduce

They don't have sexuality in a psychological sense. I'm aware that they reproduce sexually, but it's completely hormonal with procreation as the goal.

But not all species have sex exclusively for reproduction reasons. Most human sexual behavior only has reproduction as a byproduct than as the goal. Hell, most people in this thread don't even have sex where reproduction is possible. Which is why Salarians are extraneous to the discussion.

All the bests kinds of sex are non-reproductive, heterosexual or otherwise.

*ahem*

On a more serious note, I think that so long as we have a species that is (1) sapient, i.e., self-aware and intelligent and (2) biologically capable of feeling pleasure by stimulating their reproductive organs, then you'll have a race that has sex for non-reproductive purposes because it feels awesome
