That hasn't stopped BioWare before, and that seems like something they can work with.  The Warden was wrong about Leliana if they defeated her, why not the Inquisitor about Barris?   :D

I like the character, but I'm enjoying the idea of him as a party member due to the number of Barris fans I've seen in the thread.  If nothing else, he's an excellent template for the archetype.

Because Barris wasn't killed in the most sacred sight of the Andrastian fate right next to magical healing ashes.

Bioware seems to have decided to put a stop to bringing back characters who can be dead as anything more than a cameo.

Oh, I didn't know that about Barris.  Potential future party member?  I guess that would leave his fate as "unknown."  I could get behind that idea and he seems like a great fit for much of what this thread has been talking about.  Learn something new every night.   :D

Imshael and his lack of screen time was one of the few things that left me yelling at my monitor that was related to the plot.  I was hoping to hear more about the entire Dalish clan he helped slaughter, as well as having more of a presence in the area itself.  In fact, I think that's one of the few serious weaknesses in the plot of the game.

It seems like a lot of TME was built up only to be mostly dropped in the game.  Celene and Gaspard barely do anything on screen; Briala is more active, but we still don't have a clue about the orb she supposedly got (Solas' orb maybe?  Retcon?); Michel is a quest giver and not much else; Imshael and his entire story was barely touched on; Mihris (the surviving Dalish elf from the doomed clan) isn't even in the same country (she's the elf you talk to when you find your first elven artifact.)  Asunder had a greater impact, considering the Mage/Templar war becoming a full-scale conflict, Cole's presence, and the Lord Seeker's death all actually heavily playing into the plot of DA:I.

I guess that ties in with Bioware apparently wanting the make story to be longer but due to cut content and constantly reworking parts of the story resulted in the current state

Because it would've been cool if a Forbidden One made an Alliance with Cory like the Nightmare demon did

Barris can die in that quest, so doubt he'll be a party member.

They always play the "he only passed out" or "it wasn't his time" card :P

Huh, what orb?

I was wrong.  I just looked it over in my copy of TME, and it was a ruby given by Imshael that helped open the eluvians, not an orb.  I knew that Briala had access to some kind of ancient elven magic, and it turned out to be the passcode for the eluvians.  I really thought an orb of some kind was involved.  My bad.

So it was her access to the eluvians that was left unmentioned, not an artifact.   :P

In the Keep, if you side with the mages, it says that Ser Barris dies. That tile can't get changed so long as you have anything from In Hushed Whispers marked.

Of course, personally, I've already decided that Ser Barris managed to rally some templars who had a bad feeling about things and got the hell out of Dodge, regardless of whatever canon says, so I'm already on board the 'Ser Barris returns' train.

I think Calpernia will definitely return, but I'm doubtful Barris will. At least, if you went with the mages.

Nope! I probably should one day.

Schindler's List first. It's much more important.

Also, Liam Neeson. <3

Bioware should stop giving option to kill their best characters so they can be brought back later on series :P Barris and Krem would both be intresting to bring back as companions, but they might be death so I guess BW can't (or then they just don't care and bring them back anyways like Leli and Anders).

On the topic, I'd love lesbian chevalier as KISA LI.

I just want a good F/F love interest, period. I don't even care what tropes she does or doesn't align with. I'm still salty about how disappointing Josephine and Sera turned out to be for me after Isabela. At least my male characters got Dorian.

At this stage of the game, I highly doubt Corypheus left her alive.

If she ever got a chance to confront him

I wouldn't mind seeing Calpernia again, after she visits a dentist

Calpernia in DA4

Spoiler

Anyway, I haven't sided with the Templars yet, but how exactly would you keep Barris alive?

I actually think now they made her look so much more cooler than hideous...

But I wasn't sure what to think when I first saw her MKX design.

Spoiler

Ah, right, thanks.

I actually liked that they gave her lips, it made more sense now because she always sounded normal when talking compared to Baraka who actually sounded like he had no lips

I thought Mileena looked great in MKX, especially her Vampiress outfit

I remembered MK (2011) when she spoke her lines, and I thought "Oh, she sounds rather lovely without having lips to enunciate her words, doesn't she?"

A character like her would be nice and really interesting as a rogue companion, but it seems like Netherrealm Studios has trademarked the "Butterface" lady fighter. Any character like her that came after her can't help but be compared.
