Getting this back on topic (although MKX is awesome,) this was an idea for a female KISA that I had.  Put her in some plate or heavy chain with a shield and it would work for me.

Thinking of KISAs from other series, I'd love to have a demi KISA who is a lot like the Transformers: Armada version of Starscream.

Lagertha is pretty amazing.  She makes me feel things that make me a little uncomfortable with myself..... ;)

She's totally what I wanted Agatha, my Cadash, to be like but it ended up not really going that way, outside of her half-shaved, braided hair.

Armada Starscream would be a great model for the 'KISA working for boss who turns out evil' concept.

(Not that anyone was surprised that Megatron was evil. But I think we were all shocked that this one version of Starscream was loyal and honest and didn't deserve Megatron's mistreatment or his eventual fate.)

I was wondering who this was. I was a little taken aback by the hair- I mean, that's quite an impressive poof she's got going. Then I saw Google Images, and then I got it. She looks impressive.

An Avvar warrior, then? Or Rock-Knocker?

I was thinking Avvar, but a Rock-Knocker would be awesome too.  :D

Wow!

My first thought was Avvar but she could work for a dwarf or even a fog warrior too (I'm not sure what fog warriors look like or what race they are but I wouldn't mind if she could be used as inspiration for them also).  :D

Wow!

Yes! He is like the antithesis of pretty much every other version of Starscream, and yet a really interesting take on the character. Megatron treats him the way all version of Megatron treat all versions of Starscream, but for once he doesn't deserve it. So when Starscream finally does turn on Megatron it's a response to a lot of frankly disturbing and completely unwarranted abuse from his commander. And then Starscream ends up heroically sacrificing himself, and Megatron has the most fascinating reaction.

A lot of Armada consists of boring hunting for Minicons, but I'm glad I watched it for that character arc. And it made me think a lot about how other versions of Starscream ended up the treacherous backstabbers we all know and love. Was there a point where at least some of them were Megatron's devoted followers, only to become disillusioned later?

ANYway, uh, back on topic ... man, I would love to see a character like Starscream in a DA game. Either the Armada-based KISA version, or the classic backstabbing version. They could get Steve Blum to voice him!

Yeah, unlike pretty much every other Starscream who just wants to rule the Decepticons all Armada Starscream wanted was Megatron's respect. The only reason he ever goes back to the Decepticons after defecting is because another Decepticon threatens to kill the humans that became his friends, particularly Alexis. Then once Unicron shows up we get the final battle against him and Galvatron to try and convince Galvatron of the threat Unicron poses, and that only working with the Autobots can victory even be possible. The fight ends with Starscream holding back a finishing blow to Galvatron while being run through, and he uses the last of his strength to attack Unicron who responds by destroying Starscream thus showing the threat. In the end, his sacrifice ends the war between the Autobots and Decepticons. Here's the video if interested in nostalgia: https://youtu.be/T1img3-8lTc

Yeah, either the Armada KISA version or even the backstabbing version(if done in a sophisticated way like the Prime version) could be interesting inspirations for a character in Dragon Age or any Bioware game.

While you guys have been making me giggle, I think this is getting off-topic at this point.  It is a fun idea for the next ME game though, and those forums could always use a laugh.

I'm gonna have to turn in my credibility card as a fan of Bioware games because I have not played and completed the Mass Effect series... yet. I cannot aim and shoot for ****- my first thirty minutes of Mass Effect 1 consisted of "OH GOD! I KEEP MISSING AND I'M DYING ON MY FIRST ****** MISSION!!"

Anyway.

To be honest, I'm not exactly sold on the idea of an automaton-like companion as a Knight In Shining Armour in Dragon Age, personally. For Mass Effect, yes. For Dragon Age, not really? Unless they pull out a storyline with a knight's spirit possessing a suit of armour and the motivation to regain his old body back. That could be interesting, but I doubt that.

That would make for an interesting love scene.  All I can hear in my mind is squeaking, moaning and "Ow, that hurts!"

I was going to say... Or a part of me does hope that if (this is a big "if") Dragon Age does pull that companion on us, sex would be impossible and the issue of this need for physical intimacy comes into play. "Ugh, we can't do this. I can't even kiss you, the hell, man? What are we supposed to do?"

...If I may sound like a pervert for a minute (okay, more so than usual,) a trip to the Fade sounds...intriguing.  That would be one work around and for some reason, a dream romance scene sounds like it could be fun.

I'm sicker than hell, but this conversation is helping me take my mind off of things.  I've got from a temp of 97.2 to 99.6 in less than 12 hours (and bouncing between 97.5 and 100.0,) and I'm about to load up on some very strong antibiotics.  I'm also about to get some cough syrup with painkiller so I can hack all this crap out of my lungs.   So thanks for the giggles and now the mental image.  :P

I suppose it could motivate the player-character more if they see that the actual manifestation of this knight is drop dead gorgeous (ugh, typical).

"...Yeah, we have got to get your body back."

Though it does sound like a good idea. I suppose a lot of the romantic interaction would take place in the Fade as well, when back to reality, all that they could do is whisper sweet nothings to each other.

Okay, this could work, I think.

But feel better real soon. Get lots of bed rest and fluids. You already know that, but still, hopefully you have a speedy recovery, yes?

Thanks hun.  My husband is taking the night off.  He isn't feeling well either, but he's gonna help take care of the dogs so I can sleep.  <<hugs>>  I do know that my mage is calling me.  She can't wait to get her heart broken by Solas.  :P

I meant Armada Starscream's persona, not his body.

You mean like Alphonse Elric? Because I would love someone like Alphonse Elric as a companion.
