So everyone, say hi to my new husband...Now if we could get him in a game, all will be well.
Uh.....................<drools>. Yes please!
Have you guys ever heard about the game "Loren the Amazon Princess"?
The game have 2 homosexual LI (3 with the expansion) and I think they are all different and fit the criteria for a few archtype stated in this thread.
The developer is even doing a yaoi game only called "Heirs and Grace".
That sounds cool. I'll definitely check it out. Thanks for the heads up, Boost!

I do love me a good slice of beef!

If only I could recreate him on sims 4...damn, I would fill an entire neighborhood with clones of him.
OMG! Sorry for the OT, but I had to share this. I'm honestly in tears, because I didn't think that the US was truly ready for this to happen.
The US Supreme Court just ordered all states to legalize gay marriage!!! By a 5:4 decision, and the ban has been declared unconstitutional.

Ah my internet and TV was out for the last few days but very happy to find this out. About damn time! Thankfully the river over here is flooded as well so no annoying relatives to come and spoil this happy mood for me either. This has now become a good day. A very good day indeed.

I know this is modern but I saw a manga cover where there were these two really buff construction site dudes with power drills that looked suggestive. I'm sure they could do something in Dragon Age with castle builders, maybe a dwarf construction guy.. But I admit that would be hard to pull off as a companion.
Rabastan, on 25 Jun 2015 - 1:41 PM, said:What I'd like to see, and what I'd think would be refreshing would be a very plain, kind of average and maybe a little introverted gay character in a future DA or whatever game tbh - and I wouldn't mind if he happened to be available for a romance even if it meant that it would be cutesy or a little awkward (in fact I'd maybe even prefer that)
So I leave for a few days, come back, and now there are a bunch of parody threads that have popped up. Lmao.
Anyways, yay for gay marriage! Yay for thunderthighs guy! Yay for this thread being famous/notorious/infamous enough to spawn parody threads!

I know, Chris Hemsworth (dude whose appearance is a dead-ringer for a knight I've got in mind so this reply stays relatively on topic). I've no idea either.
Yes. I want to feel his hammer!!!

The thing I hate about the gay 'culture' I guess is it's over-representation of white gay men and under-representation of POC. I mean, I remember when I had a Grindr account and the amount of 'no blacks and no rice' was really off putting. I feel like if the token gay man wasn't constantly a white man in all media it wouldn't be like that. But I digress, I'd really love a black gay LI or an Asian gay LI. So far we've had only had Caucasian, but this is sort of a problem with LIs in Bioware in general...very lacking in POC LIs...
My heart sort of fluttered really hard when I first saw Ser Barris. He seemed like such a dashing knight and I was screaming at my PC to be able to recruit him, but yeah...no. Didn't happen.
Dorian isn't white.
(Not that I disagree with your general point, but he is the first gay male love interest in the Dragon Age series and also a person of colour.)
To add on the above reply, I won't count Isabela, Josphine, and perhaps even Fenris as white as well. So I'd say Dragon Age isn't hurting too much for queer love interests who are also PoC- at least, not as much as other video games. But I wouldn't object to more, that's for certain.
But in terms of gay male characters in general (and not just in games), I understand what you're saying- how white, clean-cut, classically attractive men are often the go-to for fulfilling that representation. I mean, the gay male part of the LGBTQIA community, from what I've seen, is accused from time to time for being very... 'selective' in terms of physical appearance. That in itself sometimes automatically discounts Asians, blacks, and other ethnic minorities for not adhering to what's conventionally attractive (which is often dictated by white, western standards).
Anyway, enough about that, or else I'll get irritated too.
Back to the whole knight thing- who knows? I definitely wouldn't mind at all if the knight turned out to look strikingly similar to this guy below.
I still stand by look wise darker skin with some nice deep green eyes would be an amazing combination for a male KISA throw a few scars on him coupled with a sexy voice and he'll be good to go. Well for my preference anyway but since I am not a guy maybe my opinion on the matter shouldn't matter ![]()

Depends on what you define 'white' as. Where I'm from, white tends to be a blanket statement for European. Anglo-Saxon, no he isn't. Sicilian paramour who makes my knees weak, certainly.
Gay men are ridiculously selective, and that's because they can be. I honestly have had more dates with straight white men or bicurious men because, well I'm not conventionally gay man attractive; which requires being overly masculine, beefcakey and capable of growing facial hair...not that I blame them. Such men are gorgeous.
But yes please...a man like that as a gay LI I'd be swept over my feet.

Dorian was confirmed by his writer as a person of color, so by WoG he is a PoC.

Well damn. I'll take it! Not that it changes anything. I still wish he was real.
Specifically, Dorian is Indian - well, not actually Indian, any more than Vivienne is African or Cullen is European, but the Thedas equivalent thereof. That's why his dad has the accent he has. (They were originally going to get Ramon Tikaram to do an Indian accent, too, but ultimately went with English RP.)
I would love our gay KISA - or any other male love interest! - to be black, since the only black male LI BioWare have done recently is Jacob. (That ended ... poorly. To say the least.) I'd nominate the gorgeous Ser Barris, but given that he can die in Inquisition they might need to invent another one.

Wish I could like that more than once.

Hm. Personally, I would have said he looked more Middle Eastern/Arabic over Indian. Then again, my head can't stop picturing Minrathous as similar to how Constantinople looked in Assassin's Creed Revelations, so that might have biased me.

I would have said Turkish or Pakistani because he reminded me of an ex who was Sicilian and Turkish. But yerrr. Dorian is bae. Throw some gold jewellery on him, someone please.
edit: To be fair, seeing him as middle eastern wouldn't be too ridiculous considering there is Persian cultural influences in India (Taj Mahal for example). Along with Portuguese and English. I don't know too much about Indian history since most of my Indian students are Fiji-Indian so I don't really know much about the Persian-Indo culture and whether this really extended beyond culture and into ethinicity.
