Awesome detailing on the armour (perhaps it's just me, but armour's difficult to draw, so very nice), and I like that he's got a sort-of-but-not-quite the "come hither" look to his face.

Yep, armor is indeed difficult - the weird/unique shapes are annoying to draw in perspective and if you work with an established universe (like Dragon Age), your designs are confined within that universe.

So thanks for the compliment c:

Yeah, I was saying she's another white LGBT character. I'm not really sure how Leliana could possibly count as a PoC for anyone. She's super white.

Gotcha. Totally misread your comment. You can understand why I was confused lol

So.

You're really all okay with hyperbolic parody threads popping up all over the place?

Yup, people are welcome to do what they want.

To me, joke threads are like slippery slope arguments: they're so exaggerated they're silly and hold no ground.

Anyway: I promised I would attempt to draw the KISA idea of the male Nevarran Dragon Hunter and the blonde female KISA. I finally managed to finish the male KISA! Delay caused by college and annoying ass heatwave.

JIUgZ09.png

Will be making a female version as well \o/  but my heavy-armor inspiration is currently somewhat exhausted so that might have to wait a little. I do know a good pose/face, although I'm thinking of switching her from a blonde white lady to a curly black/brown haired black lady.

10/10, would bang like a drum!

LOL! As a game-dev/game-art student, I'd be doing college wrong if I didn't know how the devs feel :P

Bingo.

I posted two parody threads, just want you guys to know it's nothing against you (speaking personally, can't speak for the hermaphrodite werewolf poster) and just a bit of light-hearted fun. I apologize if I've indirectly offended anybody here. That.. and I was actually half serious about the bi-curious nun ;)

Keep up the good work :)

Your threads amuse me greatly. No offense taken.

How did I know that you'd think that......  ;)

The artwork is fantastic, for sure.  I'm always so jealous of people who can make the images in their minds come to life.  Unfortunately, that KISA's totally not my type, but I appreciate the work that TL put into it.  If our Nevarran Dragon Hunter looked like him, I'd be a bit bummed personally, but I would be super happy for the people who like guys who look like that.  In my mind, the Nevarran Dragon Hunter can only look like Pedro Pascal.  That's pretty much the only way I can see it going down now.

I'm totally looking forward to seeing the new version of the lady KISA though.  Dark haired black lady KISA is exactly what I'm hoping for!  Maybe we can move the blonde lady LI over to the power-hungry mage thread, instead?  I know of a particular poster who will deny it vehemently, but will certainly want to see a blonde lady show up.

Dark skin KISA in general male or female would be very nice to have imo.

I'll leave it at that before I start gushing about them giving the KISA pretty eyes too.

I would say dark skin, and either deep green eyes or light blue ones like maybe an icy kind of blue. Oh and scars wouldn't hurt either <3

I'd like that for either gender of KISA

or give me a DA version of Page from Fable 3 as a lady KISA that would make my day.

Actually, now I'm curious. How would you imagine the other knights to look like, never mind anyone else here. Rock-Knocker, Penitent Knight, Rivaini Captain (?), Gladiator, Tourney...person, Fog Warrior (no clue about this one), Avvar something or other (or was that part of the Gladiator concept?).

Fun question, Carlo.

I'd say that, in my mind:

Rock-Knocker (male) - pale, scruffy, ginger, tattooed face

Rivaini Captain (female) - dark skin, pale eyes, long brown braids with decorative beads

Gladiator (male) - older (middle aged), scarred, tanned skin, thinning hair (think Ed Harris in the Abyss)

KISA (male) - Pedro Pascal

Qunari blacksmith (female) - dark skin, white hair, muscled and broad, long single braid (super practical)

When someone has sexy eyes what else do you need? Well a voice to match I suppose but other than that? Naaaaaaaaaaaaaah.

I just mean in terms for a male KISA not being a dude and all my opinion of what should be part of them kind of means not that much

Gladiator got me, but I'll have to look up on Ed Harris. So many good possibilities that it's kind of unnerving that the fourth game would probably have only room for one or two... or three at the most.

The question goes to anyone else who'd want to answer- I would answer myself, but I'm out at the moment right now... (and I just got a paperback novel about princes and knights... who so happen to be gay... or bi. Perhaps pan, it doesn't say outright).

The Fog Warrior has darker skin, icy blue eyes and a scar over one eyebrow. You could nick yourself on his cheekbones.

I've mentioned that he's bisexual, right? It's very important that he's bisexual...Or Pansexual or whatever sexual, just as long as he's available to both genders.

You're all way too nice.

All of you  :P

I prefer it when jokes are actually funny, so I'm not okay with them on those grounds. But I figure they're this forum's equivalent of tumbleweeds, so whatever.

Thats what I'm saying. Parody has tiers when it comes to quality. I think the demon goddess made threads that are easy going and good intentioned. Ones that followed, not so much. Mostly they're just a way for people to conflate requests like this thread's with fruit kin or some such caricature

Your thread I didn't think was a parody. I didn't mind the KISA thread or the Mage Li thread, others may have.

I don't believe they were made in spite, but more as a pop-up to the straight yet bi curious nun thread. That's when the werewolf and the others soon followed.

I didn't think it would lead to an explosive response in a thread. But it did. I don't think it was either appropriate or even called for. They were threads simply not to be taken seriously. Forums shouldn't have this much vitriol.

"Explosive response."

Pfft.

If you're talking about me: I called it a cheap jab. It is a cheap jab. Its a parody. And its full of people using that parody as a chance to mock people who're asking for things they don't want. I know you like that thread but Im telling you that the thing isn't benign. its derivative, full of subtle hostility, and it has about as much sophistication as a playground bully. The demon goddess did it better.

I'm glad you understand where I am coming from :) Though I wouldn't blame other people for taking me the wrong way..

I think maybe a lot of it is people having a stab at the "representation" matter. This particular thread -- let's just call it, the "original" -- has been around for a very long time before my threads and the others popped up. I always saw it as a creative outlet, for people to express ideas on what sort of romance option they want, and not necessarily a matter of equal representation or whatever it is that people get their knickers in a twist about these days, on both sides of the fence.

The issue is, there is far too much generalizing. Accusations such as being branded a "SJW" just because you're gay or stick up for transgenderism. I don't appreciate these accusations myself. I am a lesbian, and stick up for transgenderism, due to very personal, and admittedly, selfish reasons. My view is this: I don't give a toss about anybody's race, sexuality, gender, blah blah blah. What counts at the end of the day is an individual's actions, which should be measured based on one's actions in life. Your race, sex, sexuality doesn't mean squat and doesn't make you who you are as a person, it's just what skin you were born in, and what type of person you like to boink.

I admit, I do get sick of repetitive threads and arguments that go in circles, which almost always boils down to political/social issues. My parody threads were written as a result of visiting the ME:A forums far too much. So instead of getting drawn into the chaos, I just made light of the situation.

I actually really like you guys. I don't know you, nor do I talk to you on a regular basis, but I can tell, at least from here, that people like sandalisthemaker, Dave, HuldraDancer and Lady Artifice are lovely and respectful people, amongst a crowd of, put bluntly -- morons. I would never set out to offend anybody here.
