and to think we could have had Cullen leading the way..

Welcome to the KISA thread, SaruDa. Believe me, this thread has it's moment of mourning when Cullen's cut bisexuality was revealed. Just gives us all hope that we'll finally get our s/s KISA in the next game.
On the Fallout 4 topic, I finally locked in my Paladin Danse romance (and got to that spoiler....!). Good lord, that's a sexy bisexual KISA. He's really a good looking character (that BoS hood is permanently unequipped because he's even better looking with his hair exposed) and his awkward emotional opening up is hitting every single "I want a KISA now" point in my body. He's pretty much exactly what I was asking for in this thread. The 'romance' feature is weak, but it's great to hear him talk about how much my PC means to him and how he wouldn't know what to do if something happened to him. And, when I sleep in my bed in Sanctuary with him as my companion, it's also great to hear him say stuff like, "I have less energy now than I did when we went to bed......". <Swoon>

He looks like bloody Kaidan! OMG, I LOVE KAIDAN! *Has a moment where ME1 isn't a annoying first shooter in her mind*. DANSE IS LIKE KAIDAN WITH CULLEN'S PERSONALITY, IT'S AWESOME!

oh believe me i am still mourning. *rubs tear with handkerchief*
i'm hoping he'll reveal being bi in the next game, like kaidan in me3, but we don't even know if the next game will star the same group of people.
haven't played fallout 4 yet, but my friend is, and he's also aiming for danse. he seems like a nice character (and hot to boot). do the characters have different ways they treat you according to gender now, or do they treat you as a monogender being like in skyrim?

I would love bi Cullen as a companion in the next game, I really would. But I wouldn't hold my breath on that count. A former romance option hasn't appeared later as a romance option again before for a separate PC, and particularly given the Trespasser ending slides, I think it's safe to assume that BioWare has closed the book on Cullen altogether. I doubt we'll even see him in DA4, let alone have him as a companion.
And I am just barely refraining from unleashing a rant on how much it pisses me off that we didn't get Cullen in this game, because apparently THIS was where the issues of clipping and such was where they decided to draw the line. Here, and not, say, any of the various ones that made it into the finished product.
...Oh to hell with it. I'm kinda in a state right now, I need an outlet. Prepare for rantage.
I NEEDED Cullen's story. That's what it comes down to. I look at Cullen, I see a character who I relate to. Who, when I look at their character's path and evolution, I see my own. I needed that. Specifically, as a romance, I needed to be able to see someone who has these experiences that I relate to and have gone through myself find that love to give myself the feeling that I will be able to find it myself. And what I ultimately came away from, by not having him romanceable for my male Inquisitors, is a message that I won't be able to find what I'm looking for, that happiness is only available in a form I am not capable of having - I am a male who is romantically attracted to other males. I am not and will not look for romantic relationships with women. Whatever message was intended, that's the one that I come away from this with, and it is DAMN disheartening.
I. NEEDED. CULLEN. I needed one Cullen more than a dozen each of Dorian or Iron Bull. The characters who are supposedly meant to be my representation only matter as numbers to me, because they are so far away from what I consider to be 'my' story, a story I needed to see. It's probably why I complain about Dorian's story feeling like a retread of so many other gay narratives out there - I understand the importance, but it's not my story. I haven't SEEN my story, not with a character who shares my romantic attractions. And to know that he could have been this character who I need, but it was decided that they'd draw line HERE and consider this something that the audience could live without... I really can't tell you if I'm more saddened or pissed off about it.

I think it's safe to say that we're not going to get Cullen. For one, his story arc is pretty much done so I couldn't really see the benefit (narrative wise) of him showing up outside of a cameo in the future. For another, there's never been a character who has been romanceable in more than game. It gets messy, so I doubt that they'll add him in as an option in the future. Finally, Cullen's sexuality has pretty much been determined and he's straight (and only into human and elves). I don't see them changing it when it's been pretty much confirmed. Yes, they did have Kaidan 'change' after being only available for females in ME1, but Cullen was even a step further in 'confirmation' by having him literally say that the can only provide friendship to a male PC. Kaidan was a bit more ambiguous in that he never overtly had any conversations with maleShep, so it was easier. With Cullen, it would be odd given that he's now had two different games where he's only interested in human and elf female PCs.
I agree that it's a bummer that they changed their mind about him at the last minute, but I really do think that the bright spot in all of this is that I suspect that we'll be getting our gay KISA in the next game now that they seem ready to give us that option.

yeah it's sad about cullen. i did kinda hope that since they lacked the time to do the proper male romance for cullen they might patch it in the future since we have the technology lol.
i have to say his romanced ending is pretty sweet. that's the kind of ending i want for my male inquisitor. and also desk sex.
but anyway time to let cullen go. we'll always have fanfictions anyway.
looking forward to the future with an equally or better gay KISA

I like my Danse much better. Danse looks a lot better once you take him out of his armor.

While the organization is a bigot, he has a lot of embodiment of what a KISA is. He's stoic, strong, and stand for the weak. He would get angry if you hurt the innocent (as long as they're humans, of course). It's just that his teaching that tell him ghouls and synths are not humans. If Fallout world doesn't have ghouls and synth, he would be the perfect KISA if you think about it.
Maybe I'm just a fan of broken characters, hoping to be able to heal them. ![]()

Kaidan and Danse are nothing alike though, they look similar, except Danse has that sexy scar on his eyebrown
. His personality is more DA2 Cullen. He's rude to everybody, but he's becoming very soft and protective once you're in a relationship, so he opens up only to you. There's a reason for that once you get closed enough to him.

If you like Cullen, I think you would enjoy Danse, although he could be a bit of a jerk. Once you finished his personal story, he becomes a very sympathetic character and a bit broken as well, he also has a deep and sexy voice. You should get Fallout 4. It's very addicting. There are so much stuffs you can do, especially if you're also into city building and management game. There are also intense combat, and choices. You could do anything you want and kill almost everybody, even story characters. You don't always have to engage in combat, you could sneak pass enemies and solve many conflicts just by talking or you could play sniping instead of straight out shooting or meelee enemies. You could actually side with the big bad in this game if you so choose. The game sold 12 millions copies in just one day.
Just another Danse pic if that hasn't convinced you. Who could resist this smile. ![]()

You don't need to convince me, I'm a Skryim person. You know, Swords and shields blazing in the Medival apposere. I have long sense decided that I hated first person shooter games (ME1 ruined it for me, i hated alot of thing about it, but Kaidan was not one of those). C: I'm totally hyped up about the next elder Scrolls game! I'll play the crap out of it!Kaidan and Danse are nothing alike though, they look similar, except Danse has that sexy scar on his eyebrown

I do see a similarity, although I find Danse to be better looking since he looks sharper and act manlier while Kaidan is soft spoken and gentle. I guess it's depending on which flavor you prefer. ![]()
Here is a comparison:

I guess if there's a comparison, I would say Kaidan is "cute" while Danse is "sexy". Kaidan has the boyish charm while Danse is more manly. When I talk about nothing alike. I'm referring to their personality. Danse could be perceived as a bit of a jerk.
I find Kaidan to be more similar to Cinderella's Prince Charming:

I love Kaidan as well. He's my favorite Bioware romance. I'm just saying they're two different people in term of personality, and they give off different aura in how you approach them. You could consider Danse to be Fallout 4's Kaidan and roll with it. Be warned though, he could be seen as a jerk, so you shouldn't expect Kaidan if you decide to get the game. Seriously, try it for yourself. I like his story arc. It makes Danse to be very sympathetic and broken. He's like a combination of DA2 Cullen and ME3 Kaidan.

I'm sorry. I'm... Not really the sort for shooter games. However, I do like Skyrim. And yet I'm bloody bored of DAI. I'm inclined to watch it on YouTube though. I do think Danse is nice, but yeah, I'm awaiting the next Elder Scrolls game! Yes! I love the feeling of medieval mustiness and I love hitting people with magical spells and such.

The game can be complete without shooting, and you could use meelee weapons instead. Fallout 4 is about freedom of choices. It's basically Skyrim with gun instead of magic and lead pipes instead of swords. Shooting is not required. I almost finished a runthrough with just a hammer. It's RPG and one of Bethesda appeal is, it doesn't have a genre.
I guess I can understand if you don't want to play though, I'm not a fan of futuristic setting until Mass Effect and Fallout, still, you should watch Danse's romance at least though. Espeically the companion swap. He's a bit of a jerk, but his story arc really evolves him as a character. I can't wait for the next Elder Scrolls either. I hope it turns out good. Maybe an actual Knight in Shining armor instead of futuristic version. ![]()

I'm a lost cause. I don't have all the ME staps on me (I stopped after ME1 and watched YouTube videos of the rest). Danse is great and all, but really, look at my Sig. Who do you think I have a weakness for? Yeah, KISA's..... *Sighs*

Yeah, I saw you like Kaidan and Cullen, and that's why I bring them up. They are very similar.
Danse looks like Kaidan
Danse has a softer and gentler side like Kaidan, even when his outside personality is a bit of a jerk
Danse always wants to do the right things and help humans just like with Kaiadn.
Danse is a commander of an army planning to protect people from nonhuman similar to DA2 Cullen as a commander of an army planning to protect people from mages.
Danse is stern and a bit awkward and shy if you flirt with him similar to Cullen.
Danse is in doubt and conflict with the issue just as with Cullen.

From how I see it, if Bethesda puts in as much effort with the companions in FO4 to Elder Scrolls 6, I could see myself forming a deep bond as I did with FO4 companions. They're very similar to Bioware romance once you go through their romance. What I want in Elder Scrolls 6 is someone who is similar to Danse. A man of conviction and stand for the weak. Stern and protective, but have a softer side to the people he cares about. Yeah, watch his romance on youtube, although you should choose to watch the one without the hat. It makes him look like Buzz Lightyear. lol. It's hard to take him seriously with it on. I usually give him one of the wedding rings to wear.

They change the pronounce and certain conversations can change a bit depending on the gender, but they are generally the same. It's the same for the rest of the game, not just romance.
