He could believe the sky to be yellow and pink too that doesn't make it anymore true. Also lol at taxing people who didn't ask for you to come there that you don't even protect. Just LOL. To treat them the way they treat him for one. Also he's rude to everyone that's not Codsworth (who's a machine ironically) and Dog. Every single one of your human companions gets some snide remark. So no it's not just a race thing it's Danse being a douchemobile thing.

 

I just tried to steal something from goodneighbor (the hotel in particular) and he started shooting at me. Where were you stealing from? The warehouses during Charlie's quest? Also helping people just because they're in need and not getting anything isn't in MacCready's character (not in my character's either. That's the fastest way to run out of ammo and resources.) Also I already said constantly that MacCready is selfish and has a me and mine outlook? Yeah he's not going to stick his neck out for a stranger and finds doing such ridiculous. I just got the woman randomly asking for purified water event not a stimpack. Regardless still makes sense to me. Those are resources you can use for yourself.

Did you get caught? I stole stuffs and as long as you don't get caught, he doesn't shoot you. I go on the second floor of Kl-E-0 and Daisy. I stole EVERY single items in their house, and he approves each time. He only dislikes it if you get caught. It's a random event, so what the NPC asked for may be different.

Cait is the best for an evil playthrough. If you get caught stealing, she actually defends you instead of helping the NPC shoot you instead. She likes if you hurt and kill innocent, demand more money, resorting to violent actions, insulting people, lie and cheat, stealing, heck, you can even ask her to steal for you. I'm surprised you didn't use Cait. 

 

Nah if I'm playing evil I'm using dog. My neutral and good characters have companions. My evil characters can't be bothered (plus if they hear the "oh god why are you picking up junk?" one more time they'd shoot the companion anyway so I spare myself that futility).

 

Plus Cait is rude to dog. Unacceptable.

Yeah, Danse is a good guy, people may not agree with it, but all of his actions are lawful and protecting the weak. He's a "human", and so that's what the people he looks out for. It's like people who find PETA people to be crazy for value animal life that much or robots as sentient beings. It's a difference in perspective. It's not a clear cut when you compare real life society with a fantasy world where there are other beings that may not fit into the definition of what you consider humans. If you look at purely human interactions, his actions are all about helping people and defending the weak.

I actually find Garvey's lack of personality could be something intentional. If you look at other leaders of the factions, they're HUGE jerks, EVERY SINGLE ONE of them, Desdemona, Maxson, and Father are all jerks. The Minutemen is supposed to be your faction. They follows whatever decision you decide to do. Garvey is sort of your yes man, if he has a strong personality, he would probably refuse to do a lot of the stuffs like siding with the Institute or overshadow you and give the impression that he's actually the General instead of you.

 

I think Akrabra means the "babe" word. I romanced him just to see how his romance goes, he calls you babe as a nickname. Damn it, Danse, why couldn't you give me a pet name instead of that boring Garvey?

 

How sad is it that the Yes Man robot from Fallout New Vegas is more interesting then Garvey.

Doesn't really translate well into Norwegian, so never used it in a relationship. Here babe or baby is just a baby. We do have own words for it though that would translate over to babe/baby in English. I am really out of my element here!

It's weird how this game consider by people with open relationship to be a polygamy game when it's actually not. Your LI are clearly not ok with you being with other people and will hate it whenever you flirt with other people. I can't imagine certain people like Danse or Piper would be ok with it. Piper told Cait specifically that it's never gonna happen. They just don't want to add break up scene. It's an open world game and all, but they should really flesh out the content more. If you're in a relationship with others, then it should close off or the previous LI break up with you. They could add some LI who you could be in a relationship with at the same time as some other people, but they should make it clear and acknowledge it. With the current, the LI just doesn't recognize each other, not that they're ok with being in relationship with multiple people.

I don't think those two would ever work out. They're both too selfish to even be together. MacCready would probably prefer a nice girl. Also, I doubt Cait would have spent time to help MacCready hunt down his pursuers or look for a cure for his son and MacCready probably wouldn't help her cure her addiction since there's nothing in it for him. It's hard to see any companion pair up to be honest. Danse is an ass to everyone, and everyone dislike him, I find his grumpiness to be very endearing, but that's just me. Piper finds herself to be annoying and focuses too much on her works. I could see Cait has a fling with MacCready, but I don't ever see them be together for reasons I've already stated. Garvey I could see being with Piper since they're both goody-two-shoes and look out for the common men.

Actually they do have breakup scenes - but they aren't tied to polygamy. They just have to dislike enough of your general actions.

They have breakup scenes, get back together scenes, leave forever scenes. Its all there, and its fairly well done. I know its not Bioware level, but Bethesda really surprised me with the depth of this system. It adds alot to the game, and they've done a decent job with it. Need some more content for each companion though, and refine the like/dislike system.

Yeah, I know that he has breakup scenes, I mean I want for them to tie it with cheating. I mean it would have been really a nice touch rather than just act like nothing happen. It's not really polygamy because they don't really acknowledge it, and they act like nothing happen or going on. It's more like the lack of coding. If it's polygamy then make effort to acknowledge it. I know that Fallout is open world, but I would rather for them to make it clear. Some characters also don't like you to be with other people like Danse and Piper.

 

Anyway, those who said Danse dislike all ghouls. He actually admires you if you try to take the ghoul kid with you to find his parents. On the other hand, Cait makes snide comments about it.

Agree with Akrabra. They came a long way from Skyrim when it comes to the Companion system. That said it doesn't hold a candle to BioWare but it did a better job than most games.

That said the breakup / leave scenes are a bit stilted because they are not actually story developments - or even based on how you treat them. They are solely based on the Like and Dislike system. For example, someone can get snippy with you if they dislike stealing even if you are opening a door in an abandoned subway system that was marked as owned for some reason.

Because it can be any random thing that can set them off, they dialogue is also vague. That said, some of what they say is biting and well written even if the conversation as a whole flows awkwardly.

My issue with the breakup scenes if if you get their approval back up you're locked into the romance. You can't break it off and stay just friends which is really really sucky

When do the companions have all these words with each other you guys have mentioned? When you invite one to travel with you while the other is still at your side? 

 

So far, I only really travel with Nick and Danse, but I always tell one to leave before I go and talk to the other...
