Dragon Age Origins: Alistair. Yeah; I played a female to Romance him..... (I do have the cheat engine to change that. But I think that's a horrific idea becuase I'll get caught up in him in any gender, lol.)

Skryim. I don't remember who I married.

Seb because I didn't really like anyone else as a romance partner :/ DA2 was a bit of a dry spell for me and that continues in my marriage with Seb lol

I love the Dunmer.

If only DA elves could be as badass.  I can be terribly superficial when it comes to video game characters, so DA male elves just do not do it for me when it comes to LIs. Too skinny, and very weirdly proportioned, no facial hair, etc.

(And I've been quietly hoping that if we do get a gay/bi male KISA that it isn't an elf.  I'm terrible like that.)   I'm really, really hoping for either a human or dwarf guy, if we get a guy.

To everyone,

Do you have racial preferences? Or does it not matter?  Is there a race that you really want the KISA to be?

Is there a race you would really rather not have as the KISA option?

At the end of the day, if a hypothetical male KISA was an elf, I'm sure I'd learn to love the character. Especially if the personality works well with the KISA archetype and the character is very interesting/sweet/ etc.   After all, Fenris became one of my favorite LIs. (He's as badass as a Dunmer, with a gravel-y voice on par with the male Morrowind Dunmer voice too.  I think that helps a lot).

When it comes to DA, I have a mild preference for humans. I'm like you with Fenris, he's a favorite, but a favorite almost in spite of his being an elf.

In media where Elves get a slightly more classic design (i.e. taller than humans), like LOTR, Forgotten Realms, or even Elder Scrolls, I have a thing for High Elves.

Maybe I do have a type though, I always lean toward the shy guy when it comes to romance, it's just adorkable to have a fluffy shy bumbling romance.

Skyrim: Farkas, a dumb oaf who is too nice for his own good.

DAO: Alistair, funny and shy

DA2: Anders: well, it's not like there's any other options that appeal to me.

DAI: Cullen: Too bad, I can't romance him, but I like the shy and straightforwardness of his romance.

ME3: Kaidan, keep to himself and pretty nice

FO4: Danse: awkward and dense. Pretty funny when you realize you were flirting with him.

Maybe my taste leans more toward humans, but I usually prefer the "nice guy". Maybe that's why KISA appeals to me.

Who did you guys romance in each game anyway?

Skyrim: Marcurio. I thought his cocky quips were charming, but I occasionally wished for an Altmer option. Those voices.

DAO: Alistair, because of his kindness and gentle spirit.

DA2: Fenris, because Gideon Emery.

DAI: Cullen, followed closely by Solas. I like Cullen's romance best, overall. But Solas had the intellectual, poetic nature that most appeals to me.

FO4: I'm enjoying my Dansemance, but I'd trade it for a Valentinemance in an instant. That isn't about not liking Danse, it's about loving Humphrey Bogart Nick Valentine.

Really;I killed him with a sense that I was doing the right thing.

I don't care for romances to be honest; but I dislike being alone in the end, but one of my Hawkes was a lonesome person who romanced nobody...

I guess I'm the only one romancing any of the twins in Skyrim. lol, I do have a preference for dark hair, and they're twin werewolves.

In term of valentine, his personality is really charming, I would love to be able to romance him, but then synth 1 and 2 don't have parts down there, so it's gonna be a very limited what you guys can do together, except for the mouth, I can't believe I just said that. lol

I guess he would be good for an asexual romance, and I don't know if he can even feel aroused or if the Institute bother to program that as it's not something that would be needed by synth 1 and 2 to blend in.

I like to analyze the relationship and headcanon stuffs, so these things I often wonder about like how my relationship with my character would proceed after I romance someone.

Oh! Farkas? I could've married him if I so wished (but I chose not to, even though he's not annoying like some of the Warriors are.... Lydia is super annoying, then that two handed lady who wants you to get her sword, she's so ANNOYING and talktive... Ugh, I refused to marry them. Super annoying.)

I've had three Dragonborn. One's still single because his run is still fairly unplayed, while the other two married Vilkas and Farkas, respectively. I kinda lean a little more towards Vilkas, just because of the arc that does exist in game, where Vilkas starts out thinking of the Dragonborn as an unproven whelp and sees them rise to Harbinger.

In Dragon Age, since I'm on console, I end up playing my Wardens without a romance and that'll be the fate of my Inquisitors, too, since Alistair and Cullen both would be my preferred romances there. I can no longer romance Dorian after Trespasser though - I find the handling of him going back to Tevinter terribly disrespectful to the Inquisitor, that he doesn't tell them ahead of time (Bull got told before Varric's little celebration if they got together, but not the Inquisitor if they are), only telling them that he's going back to Tevinter and simply saying 'not this time' as why they can't come with him. I'm not against long distance relationships, provided it's a mutual decision. This is a unilateral decision on his part, and, again, just seems disrespectful. I suppose at least I have Fenris, in terms of in-game options, but still, one out of three games and one out of five romance options are horrible batting averages.

And Mass Effect (unintentionally) does provide an interesting narrative, of Shepard and Kaidan doing an awkward dance around each other until 3, founding their relationship on a dozen missed opportunities over their time together, only just managing to make up for lost time (Shepard's 'you're here now' to Kaidan when he accompanies them on the mission to Cronos Station, when they discuss the human-Reaper's remains becomes really poignant this way). But it's obvious it wasn't the intentional story, that the game is built with this idea that you're continuing a romance across games, not starting one in the final game.

I've only just started Fallout 4 (I got it for Christmas) - the only romanceable character I've met yet is Preston Garvey, so I won't offer a comment there yet.

Hmm, I'll chime in.

Skyrim:  Stenvar!  There is just something about a grizzled gruff older guy ( I headcanon him to be in his late forties) talking about his childhood love of forts and his "Ma" that I find both amusing and endearing.

DAO:  Zevran, but I'm very meh about him.

DA2:  Fenris! He's tied with Aveline as my favorite DA2 character, and I really like his romance. His anger, bitterness, loneliness, and devotion to Hawke all worked well for me.

DAI:  I cannot choose between Dorian and Bull.  I enjoyed both of their romances pretty equally, to the point where I now have a hard time deciding which one to romance on a given playthrough.  It's a nice problem to have for once.

ME3: I actually like Steve slightly more than Kaidan, but both are good.

FO4:  Danse.  He's such a boyscout. His battle cries amuse me to no end, and the way his bushy eyebrows shoot up when the PC flirts with him is great.

I mean, you don't have to marry him, you know? I'm ok with "mistress" like with the  non-human female grey warden. Also, there is an option to make him a grey warden, so it's not really a problem when only female humans can marry Alistair anyway. Personally, I would never make Alistair King since I prefer Anora as queen anyway, so the marriage option would have never come up.

I did the same...I couldn't make him the King,he's not ready...Anora seems so ready while Alistair resents to be the King. Then later I learned I had to make that heart squeezing decision between Alistair and Hawke in DAI...But if I had to do all over again,I still couldn't make him the King.

I'm so weak for Danse it's not even real anymore ... I wasn't even playing FO4 yet when my everything was pulled in by Danse and now I spend all my spare time in the Wastelands.

I blame Battlebloodmage for fixing me up btw ...

Sebastian is weird enough character to pull me in, the accent helped a lot too, going from the frivolous life to the chaste life he's living now was intriguing AND in my head I try to get in his pants anyways. Bummed out that he wasn't player sexual though.

Yeah, I really feel for him, his life is just so sad, everything he knows turn out to be a lie, everything he loves betray him. He's the most tragic character in the game, even more than the SS, at least, what the SS had was real.

Danse in the rain just to show the mood. :(

he's perfection and I treat him well. Imagine if all your memories are fake .. how do you even know what was real and what wasn't?

Since they only make adult Synths, when did his life really start?

I thought I was the only one who notice what a boyscout he is. Everyone just sees his closemindedness before anything else. He goes to a bar and order non alcoholic beers, hates drugs, dislikes comics, and he likes to help innocent people.

I hope that they carry the romance system in FO4 and carry it over to Elder Scrolls, but with some improvement, I would play the Elder Scrolls 6 nonstop once that happen. lol.  I love the graphical improvement in FO4, so I can't wait to see how they look in Elder Scrolls 6.

I'm guessing around 8-10 years, they said Danse joined for a long time before becoming a paladin, he was an initiate and has a bunch of initiates working under him before then. Brandis was missing for 3 years, and he knows Danse, so he has to be in the BoS at least back until then, and he recognizes Danse to be a Paladin, so he's likely becoming Paladin before Brandis left. The time can't be too late because people would be suspicious if Danse didn't get older.

What I'd also like to know is if they took real Danse and replaced him with Synth Danse or if they just made a Danse. My SS is also inclined to save Lorenzo Cabot for the serum just so I can live forever with Danse and Shaun xD

It would just be meta gaming by changing your decision, once I've decided what is canon, I'll stick with it. I saved Hawke because I think he is more important in the grand scheme of things, considering he was able to end the conflict in Kirkwall, Alistair is just under the shadow of the Grey Warden. Anora while as the Grey Warden has everything under control, and she's tough enough to not let the nobles push her around, Alistair had no desire to rule and even when he wanted to, he didn't have the knowledge Anora has.

Wow, I'm gonna be sort of brutally honest here but yeah; I like how Sebs looks and his accent is WONDERFUL! But I didn't get the DLC because I didn't like DA2 very much in the first place. And i think I would've used Sebsation to get to a throne with my Female Mage Hawke anyhow... Lol.
