Since the ladies didn't get either Avaline or Cassandra, yepper, we surely want one. I haven't been too into any of the female romance options across the whole series. My only female romance (on a male character), was Isabela. She's OK, just not for me.

Well, I don't know about "morally questionable rogue elf who is an ass," but I'd take Charter even though she's not a KISA. She is a badass, and her VA (Anora!) pulls it off so well.

In term of female KISA, there are Aveline and Cassandra, but they're both straight. I guess lesbians and gays are in the same boat, huh? Let's make a compromise, they have a twin KISA, male and female, and they both happen to be gay.

No competition at all! We had Aveline and Sebastian in DA2, and Cassandra and Cullen/Blackwall in DAI (depending on your point of view ), so I don't see why there's only room for one knightly type.

Hah, that twin thing almost falls in line with this thread asking for a couple. It would be fun to have a pair of companions that are a unit, but still individuals.

 

I do sometimes wish that DA could have an actual paladin type of class rather than the templar, since their abilities are gained through lyrium rather than faith. It just puts such a damper on the whole thing. The only way I can see that working would be if there were a class of warriors that certain types of spirits were attracted to, and once merged they would gain paladin-type abilities. The only thing currently analogous to this would be Evangeline's possession by Wynne's spirit of faith, so I suppose it's within the real of possibility, but still likely a bit of a stretch.

I would love to have a sibling pair! Knowing Bioware, though, one of them would die. So... maybe not.

No Aveline is bisexual. You can flirt with her as a Female Hawke, and she'll respond in the same way as she would towards Male Hawkes.

You know, since Aveline decided to abandon the female PC for Donnic; I'd like a bi one to make for Aveline not really being a romance opotion. I know people are gonna say that's unfair; but it's not. I'd like one so that we actually have a Aveline type that's not taken by anyone and is completely romancable by both genders. That's the type of KISA i want; though I hate seeing how people think Aveline is straight; she's not. I mean I've flirted with her as both a male and female Hawke and the conversion is the exact same (she leaves you for Donnic; if you do her personal quest.... Gosh Aveline!) So yeah; I'd be nice to actually have an Aveline as a romance opotion, becuase Aveline is awesome, in her own awkward way.

(And yes, I'm gonna say this repeatably... Becuase I am crazy like this and I was sad that I couldn't romance Aveline; because I would've Romanced her as both a female and male Hawke, lol. )

She did ask about Hawke and her, but said "there was never anything there." Aveline was never a romance option, and not for one moment did she have any romantic feeling for Hawke, so she did not leave you or anything. I know some people were disappointed, but I liked the relationship with her, especially with a mage Hawke - they had Bethany for so long, now that she's gone and Carver is...being Carver, it's nice to have an older sister.

It's right there in my OP.  I'm hoping for a male and female KISA both available for S/S romance.   The thread's title is gay KISA sure, but gay can pertain to both male and female.  I had considered the title of this thread to be the LGBT knight in shining armor, but I will admit that I was actually a bit wary of doing that because I thought it might attract more trolls and flames.....  It may have been a silly thought, but there you go. 

 

And anyway, we've had multiple KISA characters in the same game before (Cass, Blackwall, and Cullen) all three of them straight, so I don't see why we couldn't have two KISAs in the next game who are not straight.  One guy and one girl.

Well, I don't think there's a rule that says there shouldn't be a thread for showing support for a lesbian or a trans KISA. I'd rather keep this specifically for showing support for a bi/gay KISA, thought that's not up to me now is it?! I'm just passionate about my gay knight, soz ;;

That's a valid fear. I haven't read through all of the pages, but I'm honestly very surprised there's no constant flow of troll posts, seeing that there are threads, where I see people, who would like all LGBT material gone from the forums and the games.

 

Also, I didn't know liking the OP did anything, thanks for the info!

Well, as far as trans characters go, I have my heart so set on Maevaris Tilani!  But I think she might be too 'important' to be a companion if the next game is indeed set in Tevinter.  She might be an advisor or something.  Regardless, I really want to see her and will be very disappointed if she isn't in DA4.

This thread has (thankfully) been by and large troll free.  It's also been mostly argument-free as well.  Early on, there were discussions (about what constitutes a KISA and whether or not Dorian counted as one) that got a little heated, but those were settled quickly.  

 

This thread is one of the nicest on this site.

I just can't bring myself to romance a trans character, I'm supporting them fully though, so it's just my personal preference in term of relationship and headcanon. I would like to see Maevaris in the next game though as either a companion or some form of NPC would be great. She's a cool character, and it was fun to see positive trans portrayal in general.

Lady KISAs are mentioned in the OP right alongside the guys, soo... I dunno, I mean the same principle applies. Women haven't gotten their noble lady knight, and men haven't gotten their noble gentleman knight, so everybody can come here and kumbaya about it.

Personally, I would totally romance Maevaris with one of my PCs  if she were to be available, based solely on the comics.  She may still be in mourning over her dead husband though.

Yeah, everyone is different. It's just personal preference, just as there are straight guys who are into transgender women or gay guys who could open up to a transgender woman. It's just not to my liking. I'm completely supporting characters inclusion though. I just hope in term of romance distribution, they don't group transgender and gay together. There is already a view that transgender is just a form of homosexuality, so I just hope they avoid that, personally. There are many mourning LIs throughout Bioware games like Carth and Cortez, so it wouldn't be an issue if they decide to include a romance option.

They made the effort to give him a specific gender identity, would look really bad if they threw him in the trash and forgot about him completely in favor of new trans characters. Not sure how they could use him though.

Maevaris just seems so fun, fabulous and fierce in the best ways. The comics plus her WoT 2 entry have me so intrigued.  Even if it's just a single cutscene conversation, I so want to see her in DA4.

Even if the majority of players chose to save the Chargers (which I'm pretty sure is the case) that fact might limit Krem's role in the future.  You never know (Leliana obviously) but it may keep Krem's role minor at best.

People get confused, because sexual orientation and gender identity are hard for some people to grasp, and because T gets grouped with LGB. The groups support each other, but really fight for slightly different things. There's an MP in my country, who's a trans woman, but people think she's faking it, because there are rumors she's dating a woman...

Anyway, Bioware know the difference, so if there's a trans character to romance, then it will not be done in place of a gay one.
