Was Zevran even a true gay romance? His plot of "I've had some gay sex before because that's a thing Crows do in Antiva, but I really don't like gay sex very much, but I'll gay sex a male Warden because I don't want him to lop my head off for trying to assassinate him" Doesn't exactly sound like a match made in Heaven.

 

I'm SO glad I changed his canon appearance in my DAO playthroughs those, his original blonde hair looked so hideous I can't even.

The unfortunate truth is these gay characters are probably made to appeal to heterosexuals first, and heterosexuals love their overly flamboyant and stylish gays with their heart of gold and endless sarcastic ways. As such I have a feeling that MEA is going to resort to another sassy gay stereotype again which is going to be terrible and ill fitting in a futuristic setting.

 

Maybe someone will get bashed over the head with an originality bat and give a sexy gay alien romance, or something, I don't know..

Eh it kinda grew on me. Never found him attractive though, blonde hair or not.

 

Well Kaidan and Steve weren't walking stereotypes. Steve was a pilot who could modify and fix ships, not really a flamboyant and stylish thing to do.

Also, while on the subject of bears and tv shows, I recommend Happy Endings. It's a Friends/How I Met Your Mother type of show, but different kind of humor and it was amazing and had a gay main character. They canceled it, because the world is cruel.

Now that I think about it, I don't know if I actually remember/know any gay characters that I really enjoyed, related to or looked up to.

I love flirtatious and roguish characters almost as much as you do, and typical KISAs are often too morally rigid to become my favorites, but I really think there's more room for more variety in the franchise even on a strictly artistic level. 
 
Gomez (I am never going to stop calling you that, name changes be damned), I don't recall. Have you shared what you're ideal DA KISA(s) would be like?

Welp, for a male KISA I like the idea of a confident older man or shy younger guy... perhaps a Cassandra-esque personality who loves romance and schmoop but hasn't had time for love. Definitely needs some personality - Lawful Good is fine as long as they're not wallpaper! Someone with good moral fibre who's dedicated their life to helping the helpless and protecting the weak. Religious is fine, but preferably no zealotry.

For a female KISA, I'd like an intellectual type. A knightly Safiya! We've had plenty of smart women, but none where being booksmart (as opposed to cunning, streetwise, or... blood magic, lol) is a primary feature. I just like the idea of a sort of lonely, nerdy, sweet armor-clad lady who'll jump in front of a dragon for you, hair gleaming in the sun as she yanks off her helmet Eowyn style-- :wub:

Casavir? *shudders* It's bad when the LI is so boring you'd take Bishop's jerk self just for something better than watching paint dry.


Jesus Christ, right?! :lol: I wish they'd kept his backstory. Something about a duel, and that Ophalla lady, and how he killed her lover and was disgraced for it... or left Neverwinter so he wouldn't be disgraced for it, I can't even remember. But it was waaaay more interesting than OLD OWL WELL.

That's a shame, the numbers with him and Wolverine were nice. That's why I dislike the alternate universe runs, or the "lesser copies." I have no idea what happened to gay Green Lantern (after they fridged his boyfriend of course...). Young Avengers almost never update. It's a mess.

Young Avengers ended but all the characters have moved on to different series. While Hercules's problem is not straightwashed as much as the writer didn't aware of his gay storyline. Marvel has a lot of gay characters now, Young Iceman and new Icemen are both in their own X-men series, Demiurge and Hulkling are in new Avengers. On DC's side, they have the series Midnighter, a solo gay character, and gay Green Lantern is the leader of Earth-2 Society series.

Iceman and young Iceman were...weird. I still don't know what to think of that storyline. I know Teddy and Billy moved, but the new style is just so wrong, I can't read through it :/ And I lost interest in Green Lantern, when they immediately killed off his boyfriend, so they would have to show them kissing or anything. Mostly I don't touch neither DC or Marvel, because there's just too much of everything going on. There's only so many times the world coming to an end can be exciting. I watched Xmen and Spiderman with my brother when we were kids and some Batman movies, not much more beyond that.

The chest hair mod and this are incompatible, because both replace the full body mesh. For now it's impossible to do separate parts like Skyrim did.

 

He looks so happy :P

I was browsing DAI mods and there was a mod that gives Cole facial hair. He looked kinda attractive!?
