Did someone say handsome gay dwarf KISA? Since sandal showed me his.......
<---------- Here's mine!
Oh how I love it when my two favorite topics (dwarfs and gay KISAs) collide.
Artifice! I don't know how I never thought of Korbin for a gay KISA before! He'd be perfect! I'm not loving his skull-like facial tattoos, but his voice is pretty great. And I love his attitude.
Seriously, the DAMP dwarves are killer. I pretty much only play as Korbin, Luka, and Pala. Speaking of Pala, how about a Silent Sister lesbian KISA? Or, what about two dwarf characters, a Silent Sister and her partner and translater (like Farindan and Hanashan), who are both bad ass warriors and in a relationship with each other? I've got a ton of gay dwarf ideas. <sigh>
Isn't he just perfect for it? I love him so much, and I really can't choose between he and Belinda. I thought you and Sandal in particular might like the idea, because he has such a perfect temperament for a KISA, he's among the Dwarfyest of Dwarves, and yet he loves the surface. The contrast in his character, his struggle between his sense of duty to the Legion and his desire to stay with his friends. It's all communicated through a few lines of banter, and yet it makes me feel for him.
Just think, his personal quest might involve actually going into Legion territory underground. An underground waterfall, maybe a little bioluminescent lichen, you've both just vanquished a bunch of dangerous enemies and immersed yourselves in some fascinating Dwarven lore. Tres romantic, no?
And I mean, he wouldn't even be the only KISA type available for an M/M romance in my little daydream. I picture the Nevarran dragon hunter as being fairly knightly, and talk about sexy accents.
Plus, the gladiator. Gladiators are so...I can't even express how sexy Gladiators are. And an intellectual freedom fighter gladiator would be so...I'm letting my imagination run away with me, I know. It's not like my wish list is going to come true.
---
I'm torn on the idea of a silent sister, just because I love dialogue so much. I think they could probably pull it off, but it would be tough.
...I will always mourn for the Dagnamance that should have been.
Well, personally I'm all for a male dwarf LI. (I was never interested in Varric as a LI though). But I have my doubts about it happening. In DAI we were introduced to several dwarf girls- Harding (meh), Dagna (love her), Bianca (haaaate her), and Valta. I was so happy that they gave us a new dwarf guy Renn, but then.... urgh, why couldn't Bianca have been shot by a lyrium gun instead?? RIP Ren.
I wonder if the reason they've been reluctant to give us a dwarven LI is because female dwarves look.... under age? Like, really under age. Especially in DAI.
Not the guys though, with their beards and musculature.
Have you played as a male dwarf Inquisitor, MacDeath? Dwarf guys actually make the Skyhold pjs look good. Especially from behind. Lol.
We did have Dagna, a dwarf bard would be less of a stretch.
Also yes, give me an option to say "go choke on a chunk of red lyrium Bianca!" Honestly, the whole quest made me mad, I was cleaning up her mess (which lead to countless deaths) and she has the audacity to threaten me? Varric's unhealthy relationship with her be damned, my canon would involve killing her right there. [rant off]
Either way, we do have a serious lack of dwarf companions...
Thinking back on my games and the LIs, I never romanced anything but humans xD my taste is pretty onesided. Not even in ME!
Huh aside from Dorn, which was an anomaly, me too. Elves are really not my thing, and orcs/dwarves are off limits apparently :/ also I'm not that good at role playing and I'll only do a straight romance if it makes the plot more interesting (like Morrigan).

And I think Gaider said that female dwarves look 14, and male ones are "ugh." Either way, we do have a serious lack of dwarf companions...
The male ones could just look like Italian children or somewhere Armenian. j/k
I'm not a fan of elves, they are too skinny. We have a qunari romance already. What do you mean by orcs? I don't think there is any orc race in the game. Dwarves, I don't have a strong opinion about, I'd prefer humans, but I'm fine with a dwarf. I just want humans because I really want a classical knight in a classical sense.
Orcs are the best race ever. Qunari are great too but I don't like the Qun one bit :l

Spoiler
True, orcs are sexy, but the race doesn't exist in Dragon Age. Just as Skyrim has orcs, but all the dwarves disappeared.

Qunari is probably a stand-in for Orcs anyway. And I like the Qunari, they look great, but the whole Qun business turns me off.

I know that, I was talking about BG/NWN/Skyrim and pretty much any other fantasy RPG world, BW is one of the few devs, who decided against including orcs. Which is a shame, a bit.

Well, there are many Qunari who don't follow the Qun, so they shouldn't be grouped together with other Qun Qunari anyway. Still, orc is a much better race than the Qunari, and they kinda watered down the alienness of the Qun for DAI. I'd much prefer the old DAO's Qun.

Well, I'm also pretty disappointed with Skyrim not including dwarves which is pretty much a stable in many fantasy setting. Not sure why both directors can't just include all classic fantasy races. I would rather take dwarves over khajiit or Argonians.

Because they are extinct, it is in the Lore after all. The only Dwemer (Dwarf) we meet in Elder Scrolls is in Morrowind, and he is the last of his kind.

I know, it's a designer's decision. I want them to exist from the designer's standpoint when they're making the game to include them in the game as a standard race, which I find much more interesting than cats and lizards. Something always feels missing whenever I play Skyrim since I'm used to fantasy games with dwarves in it.

I like the beast races, but i do understand what you mean, its just likely to never happen. Plus the Dwarves i've seen concept art of from Elder Scrolls look abit more like Elves.

There were many theories why the dwarves disappeared. Some said they were sealed away by a god. I think they could eventually come back depending on whether Bethesda want them back or if they just want them as an extinct race. It's a fictional world, so anything could happen. I don't expect them to return anytime soon if ever but I wouldn't be surprised ever if they bring them back to be honest.

They already did that with the dwermer, so I don't expect them to do something similar anytime soon, if ever.
For me, my preference goes: dwarves > qunari >>> humans >>>>>>>>>>>> elves.
In DA: O, I only had an elf. In DA 2, I had an elf and a human. In DA: I, I had a qunari and a human. So, on paper, Iron Bull should be my favorite and, physically, he's way up there. But the whole "top only" thing that he does is a little off-putting to me. So I'm left with a slightly disappointing 2nd racial choice, two 3rd racial choices, and two last place racial choices. I'm ready for them to mix it up a bit.
In Skyrim, I always go for an orc. In fact, I have one particular orc that I'm partial to: Ghorbash the Iron Hand. And since I play as an orc as well, it ends up culminating in a gay orc adventurer couple building a home, running a household (I like the one at Lakeview Manor), and adopting two children and a dog. In fact, this has got me nostalgic. Maybe I'll pop in Skyrim when I get home tonight......
my preference: humans >>>>> elves (i guess?) >> dwarves >>>>>>>>> qunari. I'm a high fantasy racist
My preference is Humans>>>>>>>>>>>>>Dwarves >>> Qunari >>>>>>>>>>> Elf.
I have no interest in elf, maybe if they have thicker body, and they can't grow beard. I love beards on a guy. I don't mind Qunari, but I just can't imagine a Qun Qunari to be a KISA and I don't think they would trust a Qunari to be a formal knight in human culture. Dwarves look like humans but shorter, but they can grow a really mean beard, so that's a plus. Human is my preference. At least for the KISA, I want a classical human knight. It seems like there is never a character like that for m/m.

Are you me ? I feel exactly the same way down to the Gorbash/orc dragonborn couple. Only exception is that I like qunari more than dwarves.
Agree on the Bull romance. I love the guy's personality but god damn that romance is horrible. I'm still keeping it as my canon, I like to imagine most of the game' scenes were just lighthearted moments inbetween the actual romance.

I would kill for a middle-aged male Qunari KISA. The gentle giant type, something like a wandering knight with a kind deep voice who loves cooking on the side. Would actually get scary when angry.
God I hate it so much that Bull decides for me what the sex is going to be like. NO! I'm the PC, sit the f down Bull.
Agreed. In fact, it's almost a deal breaker for me. It's not something that I'll complain about, but I found it odd that they felt the need to actually write and record dialogue that discussed their sexual roles.
I doesn't even fit Bull really, he seems so accommodating for everything else it feels off he would impose such an ultimatum.

Same.. how open he is about sex, I really thought he'd be like '' **** yeah, let's shove everything AND the kitchen sink up my butt Kadan!! or if you wish to just have romantic sex, that is fine too. everything's great with u! '' but nah.
My biggest problem though was how reluctant he was to marry me. :c
