I've never played femShep, so I haven't experienced it myself. I have seen clips on youtube, though, and I must say that femShep does come off as rather aggressive with James. 
 
Again, I don't think we have to worry about that in DA.

I totally agree.  If Blackwall had short hair, he'd be one of my favorites of all time.  The hair kind of loses me (not the beard, though).  I'm glad that they made a guy like him (a little older, hairy, graying, bearded) a love interest.  I certainly wouldn't mind one like that for m/m. 

 

This picture in particular, makes me feel things.....

The combination of that picture and the one of him laughing at Sera's fisting joke made me want to romance him before we even knew his name . (Not that we knew his real name until the game came out, but you know what I mean.)

 

I would totally be up for a gay/bi dude with a similar look. They could always make him a redhead if they didn't want to repeat themselves? (Or a dwarf. But we all know I am always asking for dwarf banging.)

It seems that whenever a dude has long hair, it means they're straight. I want my gay love interest who has a magnificent messy mane and loads of beard. :l

In fact, the gay/bisexual DA guys are a mixed bag of longer hair (Zev and Anders), short hair (Fenris and Dorian), and bald (Bull).  Although, I guess if you don't find Zev and Anders' hair to be long enough, I could see how you could want a guy with really long flowing hair.  It's not a deal breaker for me, but it certainly weighs in heavily as a negative factor.  But I'm sure I'd give a long haired guy a whirl, especially if he was right in other ways.

I don't think you should count yourself out of this.  As I mentioned in my post above, my ideal is a stocky hairy bearded pale complected redhaired guy.  I've never gotten one of those (and, in fact, there's never been redheaded male LI for anyone in any Bioware game, that I know of).  So I'm not confident in getting what I want (with regards to looks).  I'm in the same boat as you.  I'd go for an Alistair/Cullen type (blond and pale and short hair), but those guys are always straight too.  I feel your pain!

In b4 the gay LI is going to be a bald elf (I don't like bald men unless they have horns). In b4 it's Abelas. THOUGH TO BE FAIR, for an elf, Abelas is actually pretty handsome?

 

I don't really care for hair color. Style is more important! Whether short or long, as long as it doesn't seem too modern or stylized, but isn't extremely boring either, I'm fine.

I know people consistently say that Abelas is handsome but I just don't see it.  I think he's just too far out of my comfort zone for me to see past it.  He (and Solas) is pretty much exactly the opposite of what I'm looking for in an LI:  skinny, hairless, and clean shaven.  No thanks.

I never find Anders attractive, he looks like a bum to be a lot of the time. I don't find long hair attractive, never have. When I see someone with long hair, I always think he would look better without it. Just a preference I guess. 

 

I never found any gay option for DA attractive, Zevran, Dorian, Fenris are too much of pretty boy, I like gruff and manly. Anders has long hair, his eyes look kinda weird, and dress like a bum. Blackwall is a bit more my type in term of look, but he's a doormat and I'm not a fan of long haired once again. sigh... all the guys I like in DA are straight.

Sorry Witch Cocktor, but if I had to choose, I'd go with a short haired guy myself.

 

Although long hair is NOT a deal breaker. But he *must* have scruff if not a full beard if he has long hair.  Long hair and clean shaven does nothing for me.

 

Based solely on looks, regardless of hair length, I will be a bit disappointed if he is clean shaven.

MacCready... he's growing on me, he'll never reach the bars that Danse set but he's cute, funny and kinda good looking. 

I think MacCready's only downfall for me in term of look is his teeth, he has black and missing teeth and he's too skinny. I don't feel he's good at taking care of himself. That's to be expected though since they grow up in a colony of kids, discipline is definitely not on the table. 

 

As for who I envision my KISA in a picture, it already exists.

 

 

I need to draw my own some days or commission someone to draw it for me. Everything about Danse look just scream ripping off his clothes, his scar, his thick bushy eyebrows, and his 5 o'clock shadow, his crewcut hair. How can a guy like that still single? lol

 

MacCready is my Institute LI, I bring him more and everything he said is hilarious. His relationship is fluffy and romantic

 

 

I'm not sure why I want to ship the SS with more MacCready or Danse. I don't feel comfortable romancing them both because I don't feel like it's fair for either Danse or MacCready, and they're clearly not ok with it if you flirt with other people.

I notice how most of Danse's picture has him all grump and MacCready has him all smiley and smirky. XD

 

I like the contrast between those two. I don't think these two could ever get along, Danse is a good two shoes and MacCready is pretty selfish and self serving. Voice actor for both Danse and MacCready did a really good job, I can't even tell whose voice I like more. Danse has a very comfort voice that makes you feel safe while MacCready has a more childish and fun voice that often cracks jokes. 

 

They're nice contrast, MacCready is more cute and adorable while Danse is just sexy.

 

 

It's weird how my favorite gay romance is not from a Bioware that features gay characters in most of their game but from an entirely different studio where romance is not the main focus with the characters.

I looked through Danse's romance to see what the fuss was about, and while I wasn't really enamored by him, I felt the romance was still more interesting than any gay romances you get in DAI, or DA (except Anders, I like Anders!).

Not a big fan of long hair myself.

The thing I need though is the beard, at the very least some stubble. Clean shaven has always been a big turnoff for me unless the guy has a face manly enough to compensate.
